One interesting thing I discovered today is that many firearm companies are starting to restrict sales to police and state governments that are passing these laws. IE if a citizen cannot have X firearm, we'll stop selling such items to the police.

What about the gun? Is the gun okay?
I hear its in police custody awaiting trial.

a 20 year old part time student, according to news reports now.
He used Biden's shotgun too.

Is Budai safe from ban?
-
Well lets move pass this and look at what was stated. Has a magazine ban been upheld by the Supreme Court? As far as I am aware no. The california 10 round ban is still moving up through the courts (both CA and NYs predate Heller as far as I am aware).
In the decision by SCOTUS we know that commonly held firearms and their accessories are protected. Given that the majority of handguns have a standard capacity of between 11-19 rounds a ban of 11+ likely won't fly. Likewise rifles commonly have 10-30 rounds standard. I could see Scalia ruling that gimmicky magazines might not constitutional (think 100 rd drum) as they are not commonly owned.

So not only did you not read Heller, you quite obviously didn't read the article I linked to either. In it, you would have found this:
Actually I did and I laughed because it showed the author doesn't know what he is talking about. There aren't very many high capacity clips out there....if any.
-
Maybe you didn't read Heller.
Sure Felony bans, background checks etc are within the law. But we are discussing the 7 round law here.
-
Cuomo clearly didn't read Heller. Its terrible that he would waste NY taxpayer money in a legal fight he will lose.

And even if there were not a whisper of bans or confiscation, after Tx. or Fl. is Hispanic enough and the Left has those electoral votes secured (as they do in Ca.) the Left will own the whitehouse and you folks in 2013 made easy confiscation possible..... and what did you get in return?
A promise of safer streets and the warm feeling of...."we did something".
I have to rely on our third branch. To be honest I actually think these latest laws are a good thing. They are poorly thought out and will allow the court system to lock down 2nd amendment interpretations furthering Heller.

Do you need a gun? Because most of the folks that covet guns live in places that don't need them. You don't people in bad neighborhoods complaining about smaller clips, they just want to stop burying their loved ones every week.
Yes I do. I live in an urban area with high crime.
-
And tell me why you need more than 7 rounds?
Since when does Slim need give a reason for owning more than 7? Is that how we govern these days?
You can't drive a gun to work.
Do you need a car? That whole "need" aspect seems to be important these days. If you live in a city I'm sure there is public transport.
-
Nobody drove a car into a school and killed 20 kids.
I hear this line often. Somehow the deaths of 26 people in one short period have become more important than statistical death tolls that are higher. Why? Emotion not logic.
-
And tell me why you need more than 7 rounds? If it's that bad where you live, move or become a better shot.
Your answer is to move? Classic.

I still consider Tasers safe for general use and protection. In terms of police use though I feel it is unacceptable to use a taser to make an unarmed suspect to comply with orders.

Despite what some people might think, football is not a religion
Hey if banning football saves just 1 child's life its worth it...........

I missed it. Was working.

I mainly consume green tea - probably 4 cups a day. Sake or Beer in the evening.
I'll have a ginger ale maybe once every week or two.

It was a celebrity gun conference where he said that.
-
I'm sure whatever the text is it will affect labor too.
-
So the media should not report mass shootings?
It would help, given that many of these people seek notoriety. However I would never seek censorship because I believe in first amendment rights and freedom of the press.
-
I simply disagree. Not debating on it.
The gang culture dates back to ancient times. It's a problem that's not isolated to the US
I'm saying the US strain is more virulent is all. Think of it like a virus or a bacterium. Western Europe might be infected with the common cold where as the US has the flu.
-
Why does the US have a "gang culture" problem? These other countries have their areas of low income, low education, lack of opportunity for youths.
IMO, the US failed miserably at integration. In post war America, African Americans could have had the opportunity to climb the ladder so to speak.
Generally every group starts off in a low skill trade and then next generations move upwards. Your seeing that now with hispanic immigrants. Unfortunately, after WW2 people were thrust back into the lowest manufacturing jobs etc and they were unable to move up. Then you have flash riots in the 1950s and 60s during this period of oppression. The gang culture today formed after that period by a population that had lost hope.
Its a lesson in social mobility and while I am using generalizations I do believe it can apply to a particular group as a whole in this case.

Sure.
I have slightly left of center views on healthcare, the economy, and the environment. Does that count?
