The dmv should be happy with a passport card.

Passports and passport cards can be renewed with expired passports and passport cards. Worst case pay a $150 file search fee.

You can order more copies of a CRBA at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/records-and-authentications/requesting-a-vital-record-as-a-u-s--citizen/replace-amend-CRBA.html

Thanks for this - I've seen the page you shared but the fact that it says order a replacement of the CRBA threw me off. Does that suggest it was lost or you can just order a replacement to have an additional copy?

Hi I send my nvc documents on October 8,

and I have message I have 2  rfe  but when I check my documents it says accepted?

do I have to worry and send the rfe even the documents says accepted

but I’m missing my bio passport can’t read but I uploaded today

How many days or month you think they review again?

    thanks

When did you get the email? This happened to me 2 months ago and we uploaded the missing things per the rfe - documents also say accepted. My final submission is October 8 as well. As for your question,  you go back to the beginning of the queue unfortunately. So it'll take however long it takes them to review documents.

Oh dang, that makes me nervous a bit. I did the I864EZ with tax transcript for last year (and an additional letter from my employer with current year salary and pay stub), since I will be sponsoring with just my income, which has been very stable and well above the sponsorship requirement...

Fingers crossed this doesn't happen to you!

  4. I got an RFE note on October 8 for W2s and 1099s (we only uploaded transcripts) - uploaded them on the same day even though the AOS documents all say "accepted". Under the applicant's civil docs, the divorce certificate from a previous marriage was accepted but for some reason it was placed under 'additional docs' and there was a new row under required documents to upload the divorce certificate (it said 'missing') which doesn't make sense since it was actually uploaded and accepted? I don't remember uploading it under additional docs. In any case, we uploaded it again on October 8th. Really nervous about getting another RFE

I got a receipt on the same day I paid the fees - then it took about 2 days for the status to change to "PAID" against the affidavit of support and form-260 fees. At that point I was able to start uploading documents.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, thanks a lot! Just paid today, so I'll check back again to see if the status has changed to Paid in the next couple of days :) good luck to you!

Hi - not much to report from NVC - timings below:

    I130 Filing date: 4th September 2021
    Receipt Notice: 4th September 2021

    Active Review:13th January 2022

    USCIS Approval: 25th June 2022

USCIS Submission to NVC: 27th June 2022

NVC Notification of Case Creation: 1st July 2022

NVC Fees Paid: 5th July 2022

    NVC form-260 confirmation receipt: 8th July 2022

NVC approved amendment to joint sponsor: 13th July 2022 (correction of an error in my AoS application docs)

NVC unlocked joint sponsor in CEAC for doc submission: 19th July 2022 (submitted the docs on the same day)

I'm now waiting for NVC to review documents - the most recently published NVC case review timescales do appear to have reduced by 2-3 weeks, which is encouraging.

I will update when I have more feedback.

Did it take 5 days for your NVC fees to get processed? I just paid them today. Do you get an email saying the payment was processed or do you need to keep checking?

No I am back in the States now and she’s still in Jordan living at her Father’s house. I’ve been back 3 times since our marriage and am planning another trip at end of august. We are newly weds.  What is your situation?

Yea I heard about the employment and student visa situation. Inshallah it reopens fully soon!

Ah got it yeah that's tough. So my spouse is a Ph.D. student (final year) and has been able to spend most of his time in Jordan with me, but he travels back and forth often. I would say he spends like 70% of his time in Jordan. I used to live in the US, but when we got married I decided to take a job in Jordan so I can do consular processing instead of AOS in the US (I didn't want to be unemployed while waiting for an EAD or GC). I'm not Jordanian.

Sorry to hear that. Our I-130 has been pending for 302 days. Are you and your wife living together in Jordan? Also, not sure if this helps but apparently the US embassy in Jordan just announced visa walk-ins  (no appointment needed) for employment based visas - so perhaps they're going to open up fully.

Also, do you know whether you can choose a different embassy once the i-130 is approved (at the NVC stage) as opposed to requesting that your case be transferred to another embassy?

Honestly I don’t know. I don’t want to be pessimistic but Amman is the only US embassy that still hasn’t fully reopened to pre Corona hours/schedules so it doesn’t look good for us. NVC processing can take anywhere from 3-6 months but once it goes to Amman there’s no telling what will happen with the timeline. It’s been 321 days of waiting so far and we haven’t even gotten our i130 approval. 😕

And my congresswoman essentially told me that her staffers gave me wrong information. So unless I’m deathly ill or dirt broke and jobless I won’t be able to expedite my wife’s petition.

I pray we all see quick resolutions. For the most part my wife and I are handling this well. Every 28 days or so she loses patience and hope and breaks down and I need to reassure her and talk her down but that’s not the end of the world. Good luck.

Been watching these forums for months, finally decided to make an account. My wife is in Amman, Jordan where the US Embassy is still not fully back open due to Covid-19. I have contacted my local representative and her office is now assisting me. I hope I see an approval soon! Wish everyone the best!

Do you know whether there will be a long wait time for an appointment at the Jordanian consulate once you're approved and processed at NVC? We're on the same boat.

Yes absolutely, which is why we are here.

Why aren't you able to get the child a consular certificate of birth abroad? Here are the instructions for the UK: https://uk.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/citizenship/consular-report-of-birth-abroad-crba-and-first-u-s-passport/ there seems to be an option for emergency appointments. Also, I just checked under emergency appointments and there's a justification that says "Status: I applied for a U.S. passport more than 4 weeks ago or my child's CRBA & first passport more than 5 weeks ago and I have not received it. (If additional information or documentation was required, please count from the date you submitted the additional items)." So it seems like you should be able to get a CRBA and passport rather quickly or raise an emergency appointment request: https://uk.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/contact-passport-unit/passport-enquiries-form/

Hi everyone! We submitted our i-130 petition in mid-September, and just got this notice today! Omg! It's only been five months lol. How long does it typically take to hear an answer after USCIS actively begins reviewing your case? I'd call my lawyer to ask, but my husband and I are still living overseas together and right now it's the middle of the night in NY and our attorney is probably snoozing. lol

Same thing just happened to my case. Active review as of today - also filed in September (Potomac Processing Center, how about you?)
