  1. 1) The Green Card doesn't belong in the wallet. Imagine it's a diamond worth $1 million, and you are only allowed to sell it at RoC time.

    2) For RoC you need a copy of the front and the back of his GC. If you don't have both, you will need to pay the $450 for the I-90.

    3) You will not receive an I-551 stamp without the receipt for the I-90. They want your money.

Thanks for your reply. And yes I know the GC doesn't belong in the wallet. His new employer at that time needed to see it earlier that day to make a copy of it. We went to the library after and that's where my wallet was stolen.

Thanks for the replies guys! ^_^ we appreciate it

  2. greetings!

i was searching around here cuz i lost my husband's 2 yr conditional green card. he arrived feb 2011. we do have a copy of the green card and also a police report. (my wallet was stolen. everything was in it, incl. hubby's GC. we actually just had to xeroxed earlier that day for his job) anyway, I was informed to just wait to do the ROC. he wont be eligible to file until November 2012. One year from now. we might need to travel outside the US early next month. should we file for the I-90? i hear it can take up to 6 months. if i file now we wont get the GC until May2012. or should we just wait to do the ROC. my BIGGEST question, if we do an info pass and request for the i-551 stamp, will they do it WITHOUT the I-90? hope ya'll can help :/

  3. My experience with expediting through the NVC goes something like this....

once i received an nvc case number i sent that expedite email right away. i also sent the choice of agent through EMAIL. if u wait for the hard copy through air mail it can take a while... while waiting for a reply for my expedite request, i paid the AOS fee. i never sent the packet. our case was with the NVC for 8 days. once the expedite is approved, NVC forwarded it to the manila consulate. once it left NVC, they cannot do anything else with the case, not even schedule an interview. Once it reached the consulate, u can call them and let them know that your case is expedited. i dont know how other consulate are, but when my case reached manila consulate, they had no idea that it was an expedited case. they had to "look" into the files/case to verify. they will not check unless u TELL them to. when youre on the phone with them let them know that your case has been expedited through USCIS, the NVC and u would also like to make sure it gets expedited through the consulate stage. u have to be polite on the phone, persistent and proactive. i called almost everyday until my husband received an interview date. in his interview, thats when my husband submitted the AOS packet and IV packet and also thats where he paid the IV fee. thats just in our case, it just depends really. if your paid the AOS and IV fees during the NVC stage/ online, keep calling NVC or email another expedited letter to follow up on your first request. whatever u don't complete in the NVC stage, you can submit the packets during the interview. UNLESS NVC INSTRUCTED FOR YOU TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT. good luck with the rest of your journey! :)

  4. Hi. My husband came last feb 2011 and in may I lost my wallet and it had his green card in it. We had taken it to show his new employer. I saw on the USCIS website that a replacement is $450 plus biometrics $80. We don't have that amount of money, unfortunately. I have a police report if the incident. Should I file for a replacement or should we wait for his ROC and submit the police report. His ROC is not until December 2012. Police report date was may 2011. What should I do? My husband is not having problem getting a job because he has a ssn. I'm just afraid of the consequences cuz he doesn't have a green card. Just a photo copy of the front of the card.

  5. i just finished talking to my husband and i made me tell me what happened in his interview from start to finish. he was a hot mess the days before his interview. but after the whole process, he said it was so easy he thought it was too good to be true!.. anyways here's his story:

When Robby, my husband, arrived to the embassy he stood in the long time waiting to get in. there was an elderly couple with their daughter in front on him. The guard didn't let the daughter enter to accompany her parents to their interview. The elderly lady needed assistance with walking so my husband helped the couple to their destination. He said he was a little late getting a number because the couple walked very slow. After being a good Samaritan he finally got a number and waited for his name to be called. The first person he spoke to was in the window and he was a friendly filipino man. he asked what my husbands name was, his address, how he and i met and he asked for the DS-230 forms. my husband supplied the form and the gentleman asked about our previous K1 petition. my husband said it doesn't apply anymore since we are now married. the guy said ya you are right and asked him to sit down. good thing i had a prepped my husband the night before the interview and i told him the needed packages to submit (AOS and IV packets) Robby said he was a little confused why the guy didn't ask for the packets. good thing he asked and the guy was a little surprised when my husband showed him. the guy even made a comment, saying his documents are complete. he even asked who arranged the packet and robby said my wife. the guy told him i did a great job with having the documents complete. my husband handed him the AOS packet, our Co-sponsors AOS packet and the IV packet. the guy asked what the name of our co-sponsor was. Robby said Aurora Walker, which is correct. then the guy was like, so she's related to Luke. my husband was like HUH! he was thinking of all our relatives name and none of them was Luke. The guy started laughing and he was like, im sorry, im just kidding about the Luke, u know Luke Sky Walker. and he joked that it was cool that our co sponsor was from star wars cuz of her last name..haha the next step was to pay the IV fee so he was called to the cashier window. he only had $400 and he asked the lady if it was OK to pay the balance of $4.00 in pesos. the lady instructed him to go to the money exchange across the street to exchange his pesos to dollars. buying dollars is more expensive because the $5 costs 250 pesos. 50 pesos to 1 dollar. thats how they make money haha. anyway, after paying the IV fee he sat and waited again. The next person he spoke to was an African American gentleman. Robby said he was very friendly had a smile on his face all throughout the process. The guy took his fingerprints. After waiting for so minutes again, he was finally called into one of the rooms. the CO was a Caucasian male, friendly and straight to the point. He asked my husband his name, the petitioners name, he asked about the K1 petition and he asked what i did for a living. he didn't ask Robby anything about our wedding so robby showed him the pictures. he quickly glanced at it and handed it back to my husband without going through them. robby said he just started stamping the papers but he was too shy to ask if he passed or not. so after leaving the room, he asked one of the people in the window and they informed him that he passed. he filled up the 2GO delivery form and met up with my mother-in-law that was waiting outside. overall Robby said it was an easy process, so nothing to worry about. If u know your spouse well, you should be ok.

i booked his flight for feb 13, MNL to LAX with Philippine airlines nonstop flight. we're just now waiting for the visa to arrive so he can go to the CFO seminar. we also need a copy of his visa to show the travel agency so they can give him the new immigrant ticket price :D

we're both extremely happy! God is sooo good! congratulations to those that have passed! our journey to be with our loved ones is almost over! (L) (L) (L)

    great news jhilly

Thanks atencio! u have your flight details yet?

  6. whats wrong with LAX if POE is there?

i found an airfare promo for first time immigrants from MNL to LAX non stop with Phlippine airlines for $655. its from this travel agency in manila.

  7. when i called NVC they said that on dec 17, 2010 they sent our case to the manila embassy. after a week i called the embassy and they said they received it the electronic file on dec17 and they are just waiting for the documents in the mail. i was informed to call back in 2-3 days to schedule an interview and when i did i was able to schedule one :) when we were able to schedule i was so happy i didn't care to ask when they received it hehe. i guess in total give it about 9-10 days. NVC and the USEM website has the # for the embassy listed as (02) 301-2000. ext 5184 and 5185. they will only pick up between the hours of 2-4pm manila time. ext 5185 never worked for me, and on ext 5184 there's a really nice lady that is very friendly and willing to help u out. good luck with everything. if u need anything let me know . :) you're almost there!!! hehe

  8. when i sent the interview packet to my husband i used USPS. it cost $30 3-5 days delivery. unfortunately i took 7 days to reach my husband so he missed the interview on jan 11 at 7. we had to wait 9 days to reschedule another interview, and thats after calling the appointment center twice a day, for 8 days! they kept saying our case is still tagged so the embassy needed to untag it first. i finally called the embassy and after a couple days we were able to reschedule. i was asking about downloading a new appointment letter and the lady at the embassy said there's no way i could unless it gets picked at st. lukes. i asked if it try online or call the appointment center if they would be able to help me and she said no. she said the embassy scheduled it and not the appointment center so our records would not appear in their system. anyway, we have a new schedule on jan27. the appointment service center didn't help much nor did the online appointment system. good luck to everyone!

  9.  when i sent the interview packet to my husband i used USPS. it cost $30 3-5 days delivery. unfortunately i took 7 days to reach my husband so he missed the interview on jan 11. we had to wait 9 days to reschedule another interview, and thats after calling the embassy everyday to bug them about our case. anyway, we have a new schedule on jan27. i guess if u send it through USPS, after it reaches the foreign country (philippines) it sits there for a few days before it gets delivered. the package arrived in manila on jan 6. my husband lives in cavite, 30-40 minutes drive from manila without traffic, and the documents didnt arrive until jan 11. it actually didn't get delivered to his house. it was sent to the municipal hall and a messenger from the office went to my husband's house to let them know he has to pick up the package. plus there's a 200 pesos fee for it to be picked up..yes i know, ridiculous. so definitely if there's an office in san diego i'll try using johnny :)

  10. im so sad guys. :crying: :crying: the packet that i sent my husband, which i paid extra for it to be delivered quicker, didn't arrive on the day it was supposed to.  it was a couple days late. :crying: he actually received it the day of his interview around noon. we have to reschedule. hopefully there's an available slot for next week or so.. for the others, congrats on the visa approval! :) ...i'll keep u guys updated with our case =/ :(
