We had a similar issue. Got an RFE stating that the I864 wasn’t signed (it was). According to our lawyer, the CEAC website can be buggy and documents can get distorted when you upload them. We ended up uploading the exact same file again, and it was eventually approved.

Did your approval take another 3 months? Or was it sooner?

That´s a tricky one to answer but in my experience the NVC uses the date of the first submitted document, unless you re-submit something under the required documents list. That may reset the timeline but I don´t have first hand experience with it.

Most people seem to report that adding documents under the "Additional" category does not reset the timeline.

We got an RF for an unclear birth certificate(?)! I hope this does not push us back another 3 months!

DQ'd today (June 30) after 2 RFE's. Received last RFE on April 14 (proof of domicile for USC spouse), uploaded spouse's voting record and a graduate school enrollment letter on April 19. Best of luck to all of you still waiting to hear back on your submissions!

Were we suppose to upload proof of domicile? I thought the address on my tax reports was enough? Now I am getting scared about getting an RF. Our submission date was on the 23rd so we are getting fairly close.

YES this is exactly my problem, because the link you linked above says one thing, and then the US Embassy in the Philippines says something entirely different:

    https://ph.usembassy.gov/visa-update-preparing-for-your-immigrant-visa-interview/

"NOTE:  There is NO NEED TO BRING the petitioner/sponsor’s affidavit of support forms and financial documents, however these documents must be uploaded into the CEAC portal prior the interview."

Oh, wait a minute, it said civil documents.  That does not include financial documents, I think???

We have our interview next week, so, starting to feel pressure.   What I need to know (and maybe I should put this in a different topic, but I was trying to find the info before posting) is do we need to include financial documents for 2021 taxes?  I filed an extension, and so did my joint sponsor.  Also, I should provide new bank statements for the past 6 months, correct?   I already provided them but by now they're almost a year old.   And my more important question is:  DO I NEED TO UPLOAD THESE NEW THINGS INTO THE CEAC??????  THANKS!!!!!

In one of the Facebook groups, someone from Manila just had their interview and they said the interviewer asked them only for their birth certificate, marriage certificate, and passport.

However, every case might be different? The interview seemed pretty easy and they only asked basic questions, such as:

    Who is your petitioner?

    When did you get married?

    How did you meet?

Have you ever been to another country?

    Was your spouse married before?

  5. Hello everyone,

My wife and I recently got transferred to the NVC and we managed to pay our fees and submit all our paperwork last week. We are hoping everything goes well and we get an interview scheduled soon.

My wife has a lot of anxiety about the interview and she wants to prepare as well as she can. I am aware that I might need to send her physical copies of certain documents but I am not sure which documents are required as there is conflicting information on the internet.

For anyone that has gone through the process, what documents were you required to take to the interview in their original format and what kind of questions were asked at the interview? My wife has terrible anxiety about the process as she has been denied a tourist visa twice before and it left her a bit scared of dealing with embassy interviews.

    Thank you!

  6. Hello I have a question that I might already know the answer to but I figured that I might as well ask here to see if anyone with a wider knowledge or experience base can enlighten me a bit.

My fiancé (now wife) and I were undergoing the K1 process since February of last year (NOA 1 2/2/20 and NOA 2 6/18/20) and as many of you know, the process has slowed down to almost a halt, since the emergence of COVID. We feel we have been stuck at the NVC for ages!

At my fiancé's request we decided on foregoing the K1 and we got married last month through Utah's online marriage system.  However, we are now seeing movement in our embassy (Manila) and we were wondering if the K1 was still valid since we got married in the US and not in a foreign country. We are legally married in the US but not yet in the Philippines. My gut tells me that our K1 has been voided although we haven't officially withdrawn. I know that we could choose to continue the K1 but there could be issues down the line especially during the adjustment of status if they notice that the official wedding date was before she arrived in the United States.

Does anyone know if our K1 has been officially voided? Or did we just discover a loophole due the novel emergence of online weddings?
