Do you have your Form N-652; Naturalization Interview Results? If you read the fine prints at the very bottom of the page, USCIS states a remedy that is cheaper and more efficient.

"An action under section 336(b) of the ina (8 usc 1447(b)"

You need that this in your local US District Court.

Yes I do. I thought the action under section 336 (b) of the INA is the same as WOM?

Guys, if I can give you all my piece of advise: do NOT waste your money on writ of mandamus or whatever.  You already spent a bunch trying to get the citizenship!

I waited almost 10 months after my interview for a decision to be made (if you scroll a few pages back you'll see my story).  It wasn't till I wrote my Senator that my case was unstuck.  I was so frustrated also from waiting and waiting, worst experience of my life (and my case was easy).  I was even on the local news when my case was finally approved after months of waiting, I can tell you they (USCIS) were quite embarrassed from having held it for so long.

So, write to your Senator, Representative, whoever can intervene and make these people at USCIS do THEIR job!!  The lawyers can not do much and I doubt a mandamus is the answer to this problem.  They are still riding the COVID wave and blaming it on not enough personal, blah blah blah, it is time to get back to work, make them do their job.  Send the Senators, they take it seriously then.

My FO is Denver and I already wrote to both Senators and representative, still the same generic response. It’s already 10 months post my interview and still no answer.

Same here, very straight forward case, I guess it is just completely random. From what I’ve heard it is effective, but it could take months anyway till your lawyer file the lawsuit, then they have 2 months to reply, plus another month or 2 they give to USCIS…

Okay then. Because I wrote 2 letter to my field office, couple service request with same generic responses.

It’s unbelievable that they’ll make us spend a shitton of money on legal fees at the very final step of the process simply because they won’t do what they are required to do by the regulation.

My Interview was completed back in June 2022, and still waiting for a decision, no criminal record whatsoever. Do you think the writ of mandamus is very effective?

    N400/Pending I751 Interview on 12/6/2022 - Newark office

Passed, officer said everything looked fine and that I should hear back from them VERY shortly. It’s been over the 120 days limit and no updates on my N400. I751 updated in January to “ready to be scheduled for an interview” and that was AFTER the interview.

Nothing makes sense. Raised multiple service requests already but no actual updates.

    Very frustrating

I’m on the same boat, I plan of going the mandamus route.

Hi, did you ever get any update? My husband interviewed August 2022, since then no update. I waited 120 days, then sent a letter to local field office in December. Received no response, so raised service request a few days ago with USCIS. It's so frustrating not knowing what to expect or how long to wait.

I’m in the same boat. Interviewed back in August and no update since then.

All this is on my timeline on my profile. I think it was October 2021 but I was in Chicago. So my timeline isnt a good reference if you are living in Denver. I have a friend from Denver and they took 3 months after they applied.

ha, I cant think why this question is relevant. Please tell me why this matters? ha

Some says if interviewed before 10 or 11am in the morning; then same day oath very possible and others say it depends on the Officer. Congrats once again

Sorry, I was away camping for a few days.

I applied from Chicago in October 2021. Then Moved to Denver June 1st 2022. On june 13th I received a letter with interview date.

If I had of applied while living in Denver, I would have gotten my interview date much quicker. Chicago takes about 8-9 months.

    Hope this helps.

Congrats. Are they still doing same day oath?

There has been very little activity this year (2022) from N-400 applications that interview out of Denver. I know with Covid, they were doing the oath ceremony the same day as interview. Since covid restrictions have lifted, does anyone know if they are still doing same day oath ceremony? Or do you have to come back a couple weeks after interview?

Appreciate any input from anyone who interviewed after April 2022.

    Thanks!

My Auntie did her Interview and same day oath at the Denver FO in May 2022. When did you apply and when is your interview?

Had a combo l751 & n400 interview on May 16th at the Sacramento field office. Pass the n400 test and awaiting approval of both petitions and scheduling of the oath ceremony.

Frankly I was expecting to wait longer than a year for the n400 case to be scheduled for the interview given the backlog at the Sacramento field office.

Congrats, still waiting for mine for over a year.

No, I only just got to stage 2 on the 20th.

But, when I didn't hear anything after I filed on the 12th, I sent them an email inquiring if they received my request and it went to stage 2 the next day.  But it couldn't hurt for them to email or call since it's been since Nov 21'

I filed FOIA on 01/13, moved to stage 3 yesterday and no interview schedule yet. I’m May 2021 filer though.
