  1. Congratulations for those who got interview scheduled already, and Goodluck

   And by the way, if you have android phone, you can download this app called USCIS naturalization test which really helped me a lot in studying, they got flash cards as well, and dont need to carry the reviewer., oh well just saying

  2. Congratulations, Pechez!

Btw, I was just curious about the way the civic questions are asked during interview - does the IO read (answer) options to pick from as well for each question?

thanks alterego anyways to answer your question.... no there are no answers to choose from, you have to answer the questions orally. I dont know if there is already a set of questions because the IO is looking at the screen while asking me questions and for some reason checking something on a piece of paper. Anyways as long as you answer the 6 questions correctly, The io will stop asking you and move to reading and writing test.

  3. Congratulations, Pechez!

  5. Good day July Filers!

Im so happy to say that I'm finally a US CITIZEN starting today!!!!   I got interviewed today at Seattle USCIS, it was a quick one. Arrived at 1:50pm, I got called inside at 2 :25pm, The interview lasted for 20 mins. It was a brief interview, ask personal information from n400, ask 6 civic questions like what does the cabinet do, when is the last day filing of income tax returns, what did the declaration of independence do? if president and vice president can no longer serve who becomes the president?, we elect us senators for how many years? how many justices? I got them all correct so the IO stop asking, made me read When is Columbus Day? and then write, Columbus Day is in October., lol it was easy and then the IO ask for some supporting documents for verification like tax returns and lease, good thing I had it all. And then the IO started making random conversations with me like, what do i do for work? where do we went camping, and I seriously had pictures of us family so I showed them all and started asking where is this or who is this, yeah basically he made me feel very comfortable even if he's asking too much. It was okay because Im not hiding anything, he could ask whatever he wants, I dont care! hahaha, but seriously he;s nice and joke around too, its like an ordinary conversation. And then after that he made me sign my pictures and a paper and he congratulate me andsaid wait for an hour for my oath taking. The oath taking started at 4 lasted at 4 45, Got my certificate of naturalization and now im ready for pssport application.

So goodluck to those who will be having their interview! :star: :star: :star:

  6. I got a question guys, so level 2 operator finally fax me the interview notice however, it's only the notice itself, nothing more, I was hoping there's like a document checklist the white or yellow paper that I should received. Should I still call them or probably the requirements I sent was enough, so they don't fax me the n659 form? I bet they know what to do since it was the officer who fax me the notice. Can I just download the form somewhere?

  7. How do you get transferred to level 2 support? I called the 800 number again this morning and after hearing the same usual response to wait for 30 days, I insisted her to transfer me to level 2 support. She did not entertain that request at all, saying that no one would be able to lookup any further details on the case - not even level 2. I insisted even harder to speak to the next level anyways, and she kept repeating the same. What gives?

I just keep on calling them and get the same response. Then one time I got my status updated on august 27 on my account you know the last update thing, so i called them asking what it was, an operator didnt know what I was talking about because the only thing he could see was the online status that says aug 17, i was scheduled for interview ..... so there, he just transferred me to level 2 operator. There I learned that I was scheduled for sept 26 and they mailed out the letter on the aug 20th. The August 27 was the time they update my online status.

  8. Hi pechez and welcome. What has happened to you is quite normal when dealing with the USCIS & USPS. There is a possibility that the interview letter was mailed to you and got lost in transit. During my journey, I have lost an NOA as well. Good thing you called as you were supposed to if you didn't receive anything in 30 days. You should call again and get confirmation, if they mailed you the Interview letter. If you still haven't received a letter close to your interview date, be persistent and call again, insisting they fax or email you a notice. Donot listen to them about not contacting them for a certain period of time. I used to call them every day. If I were you, I'd schedule an infopass right now, for a date close to your interview. If you receive a letter before the infopass date, simply cancel it, otherwise speak to them in person and probably they'll hand you a letter right there. Good Luck and let us know if you hear anything.

Thanks for your reply pathan, yeah would definitely do that, thanks for your advice. I think you're right because according to them, it was mailed out august 20 right after my status change.

  9. Hi guys im new here , I guess I share my experience about incoming onterview. My status says on aug 17 I was scheduled for interview. No interview notice til now, almost a month. But my case was updated on aug 27. last week I called USCIS, got transfered to line 2. and learned from them that my schedule is on sept 26 which is less than 2 weeks. m happy but a little bit upset because until now i havent received any notice. So I called again today., I told them that if I have to wait til sept 17 to request to remail it to me, it will be to late for me to receive it and no chance to prepare for the requirements. So they told me that if i dont get the notic by Monday, they will just email or fax me the notice. What was going on, Good thing i called USCIS and got transferred to line 2 or else I wouldn't know my interview sched and a possibility of missing my interview. So I hope this experience would give some of you guys ideas to really track your online status because the line 1 operator doesn't know anything., nor the status is reliable ,

  10. hi july filers! Just checked my status online today and..... it says im already scheduled for interview. i just need to wait for the notice in the mail.   but my question is on my status it says there on august 17, i was scheduled for an interview. but i sign it to my account and it was updated aug 27, so when did they actually send the notice? but its okay thats not a big deal just kinda wondering.

Juy filers we're almost there. Goodluck to us!!!

    Testing and Interview

On August 17, 2012, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was scheduled for interview. You will receive a notice with a time and place for your interview. If you have not received the notice within 30 days of the date the notice is mailed, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for further assistance. If you move, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address

If your case status indicates that you are currently in this step, you have either been scheduled for an interview or are in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your application will remain in this step will vary by office and is largely determined by the number of cases ahead of yours. The interview notice will have specifics about time, location and anything you will need to bring to your interview. If your application remains pending beyond our normal processing times (as shown below) please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please note that not every application/applicant will require an interview. In some instances, an interview is required by regulation and others an interview is requested because USCIS has determined that this is the most efficient means to determine eligibility. For a naturalization application the interview will include your taking the required English and/or Civics tests (unless exempt or waived).

  14. hello guys! I hope you're havin a good day!

question. about the affidavit of support. My husband (petitioner) got laid of. He got no job since october 2010.He got unemployment though, I got a job,but Iam not sure if its enough. Our income in our 2010 tax return is 30,000 combined. But since he got no job at the moment, Can he use my income and can I just fill out 1864 A or its better, to use a co-sponsor including my income? its like sending (2) I-864 and (1) I-864 A just incase? So Is he gonna put Unemployed in the employment and income part?

Im just basically being ready just incase I received the I-864 forms so I can fill it out right away and I wont get RFE so it would speed up the process.

  15. Hi,Im a permanent resident here in US. My husband is a US citizen. I have a daughter in Philippines. My husband filed an I-130 category 201-B Ina for minor step child of USC. It got approved last March 18 2011, and it is now in NVC, NVC send the beneficiary(my daughter in Philippines) a DS-3032 choice of agent., we also have a copy of it. First question,,how can she sign it? shes just 7 years old, can I sign it on her behalf as a mother and can I appoint myself or my husband as a choice of agent and just send the nvc the petitioners copy?

Second question. about the affidavit of support. My husband (petitioner) got laid of. He got no job since october 2010.He got unemployment though, I got a job,but Iam not sure if its enough. Our income in our 2010 tax return is 30,000 combined. But since he got no job at the moment, Can he use my income and can I just fill out 1864 A or its better, to use a co-sponsor including my income? its like sending (2) I-864 and (1) I-864 A just incase? lastly, I may sound stupid but I dont know what category is 201-B ina? what does it mean? , Is it IR-2 or imediate relative since my husband is a USC filing for a minor stepchild?

Please help me. any help would really be appreciated

    :)

  16. March 12 was my interview day. The officer just ask me basic questions and doesn't gives us hard time. After showing him all the proofs we have like bank account., least utility bills and health insurance etc., we got approved for a 10 yr greencard because we are married for more than two years. He told us to just wait for the mail in two weeks. Seattle is really fast and reliable. They were all friendly. Thanks God and also thank you vjr's.

  17. I'll be having an interview this coming march 12 and according to the interview notice., i should bring affidavit of support with the recent tax year unless already submitted. To be safe I will be bringing a copy of that affidavit of support and 2007 tax returns. My husband hasn't file his 2008 tax returns. For those who will be interviewed this march. did you use your 2007 tax return or 2008?

    thank you
