  1. Wait....so you were in the process of getting approved for a K1 Visa, got tired of waiting and tried to enter the US on a Tourist visa but was denied? Did you have to buy a ticket immediately and fly back home?
  2. Thank you, I have not. I reached out to my state representative and they applied to expedite the process but was denied, so I "still have to wait". I will look into the form you suggested, thanks again.
  3. I'm just merely inquiring about all possibilities. The reality is she's just visiting on her tourist visa and will fly back to China for her interview and then re-enter the US with her proper K1 Visa.
  4. There's no fraud here, she's just visiting me on her tourist visa. She's still employed in China and we bought a return ticket to show she is not over staying her Tourist visa.
  5. Another update: Since she still has a current US Tourist visa, and China is slightly letting citizens leave the country now, I booked a flight for her to visit me while we wait for her interview date in China. She would then fly back to China for her interview and then fly back to the US and enter the country on her proper K1 visa to get married. My question is, once she arrives here on her tourist visa, is there a way to just marry her so she doesn't have to fly back to China for her interview? I didn't know if some state allows marriage on a tourist visa or something....thanks for any input!
  6. No update to my K1 visa case, it's been almost 14 months now, every time I call they just keep saying "it's within normal processing time, so continue to wait".....issue is they keep pushing back the "normal" processing times. When I first submitted the K1 Visa forms, the processing time was like 6-8 months....
  7. Oh I will have my fiancee here and married probably a year or two before China allows tourism again. I suspect that will be 2024/2025. Asia in general has been extremely cautious with Covid but China takes the cake with lockdowns
  8. China isn't currently letting their citizens travel abroad for trips/vacations. And I'm not allowed to enter China because they do not allow tourism.
  9. Thank you for the suggestion but sadly since she is a Chinese citizen, she can not willy-nilly leave the country just for the fun of it. China still has very strict COVID policies and they basically aren't allowing people to leave the country to travel.
  10. Thank you for explaining it clearly. My new idea: Since she already has her B1/B2 visa, she can come visit for a month or so (up to 6 months), maybe in October/November. She's already stayed with me for a few months back in 2019 before the pandemic. So since we've established she will not be receiving physical mail about the interview date/etc., does she need to keep her apartment or can she just "move back in with her parents" (in her hometown) while she visits here? 6 months is a long time, I'm optimistic that she will be granted her K1 visa in the next 4-6 months. She could technically visit me for the next 6 months while we wait for her interview, then she can just fly into Guangzhou for her interview....right? How long after the interview does it take to get her K1 visa? Also she has two cats in China, not sure what's the best way to get them here safely
  11. Thank you everyone for your input. I'm happy to hear they will contact me about further steps rather than physical email to my fiancé. I spoke to a USCIS representative today and we're trying to escalate the case due to "humanitarian issues". I explained how China (a communist country) does arbitrary lockdowns/covid punishments and frankly how I'm worried about potential war over this whole US-Taiwan-China controversy. I just want to get her out of China as quickly as possible.
  12. Understood. We wouldn't be getting married on her tourist visa, she would just be visiting me because we haven't seen each other in a long time and we're uncertain whee our case will actually start progressing. But since there's a good chance she would be denied entry, I can't chance that
  13. You think they're aware of her trying to get married and wouldn't allow her entry on a tourist visa?
  14. I was/am under the impression that once we get past this first phase of the process, they will mail my fiancé a letter with the interview date/time on it. Then she goes to the US embassy in China and does her interview, passes it and then is granted her entry visa, then we have 90 days to get married. This seems incorrect to you?
  15. I'm a US citizen and my fiancé is Chinese. We applied for the K-1 Visa back in September 2021 (yes we have confirmation that the California processing center received it in September 2021). It's been 11 months and it's still the same, no updates, no progression. I don't know what to do, I see some people from May 2021 still waiting. It's infuriating! I haven't seen my fiancé in 2.5 years. I almost want to bring her here on her valid 10 year tourist visa and "wait it out" here because who knows how much longer it really will be. The big problem I see with this is if she comes here, she will move out of her apartment. When they send a letter to her Chinese address for her interview, no one will be there to receive it. I don't know what to do and I'm getting to the point where I might snap. Is there anything else I can do besides just "wait"? Thanks for any input
