    Hi!
We're in a very similar situation. We've been advised to take a copy of everything we filed to the interview with us. + any updated information you have and that includes tax returns (if any) newer 1099 or W-2 if any, etc.

The chances of being asked about income again or another I-864 are not big unless you answer a questions during the interview that indicates that your income has changed. We're filing a new I-864 and taking it was us to the interview just in case we're asked for it. It doesn't always come up, but it might.. and the last thing you want is to potentially get an RFE for it after the interview since this would delay things.

    Good luck

Hey! Did they ever ask you about it? We have an updated -i864 (wrote wrong income )but am worried to even bring it up to cause complication

Thanks, this is in line with what I was thinking - bring the updated form but don't offer it unless they ask. I have been at my job for 1.5 years and can certainly bring some more recent paystubs (I submitted them with the original application, too). Appreciate the advice!

Hey what ever happened? did the officer ask? Did you give updated i864? We have a similar situation for our interview Wednesday

My husband also switched jobs after DQ. My lawyer updated our I-864 with his new job. I brought his 2020 w2's as he hadn't filed 2020 taxes yet, which the lady took from me. She didn't want his recent paystubs, although I felt more comfortable bringing them. We only sent in 2018 and 2019 tax transcripts and they were fine with that.

did you upload your new info online or just bring it to interview?

    1. yes

    3. anything that u have been submitted to them, bring the original. birth certificate, marriage cert, passport etc. whatever that u can think of, bring all of them. better be safe than sorry

    4. albums, bring it to the interview, make sure u have some / few thats printed 4x6 and glued it to letter size paper, they cant take ur album. album is only to show.

    5. i did stack everything in 1 bundle ( black binder clip) but i indexed tab everything and put the index detail on the first page so it's easy for them to take whichever they want just by looking at the detail on the first page. u want it easy and quick for them to do that.

Not an issue.  NVC/DOS is not known for diligently updating CEAC case status.  There's even a recent post from a member who already got their visa on hand, yet their CEAC status was still "Ready" (lol).

Anyway, as long as you got the DQ email, your case will be put in line for interview at the consulate.

    Thank you

  8. Hi!!! I have a question about my CEAC current status online. Last night we received our DQ and it shows all our documents have been accepted and approved. The problem is when we go on CEAC case status it shows that (Action Required: Submit Required Document) instead of at NVC

Has anyone experienced this? We are hoping that it takes few days to update. Thanks

Hey, did it work for you? Did your I-130 get approved before or after your I-129f NOA1?

It definitely helped. We submitted NOA1 then 2 moths later k3. We got approved with NOA2 3 weeks later after submitting k3 but got a denial letter so it was rejected we think it speed up the process 100%. Definitely do it. Worth a try.

  10. Hey! We are at the uploading AOS  part now online. Does it have to be IRS transcript from the IRS website? I'm having trouble getting them, but I have tax return from accountant from past 3 years and the W2s. Would the individual tax return from accountant be okay?

    I see online:

" If you cannot get an IRS transcript, please send a photocopy of your federal individual income tax return. If you provide a photocopy, you must include a copy of every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your return(s)."

    Any info helps thanks!

  12. ➡️.   Joint Sponser Questions.  ⬅️

Hi guys! We are finally at the NVC stage for our CR-1 visa and want to start preparing for the interview. I will use my dad and a joint sponser. I want to start getting him to prepare his documents now. Can someone look over this list and let me know what I'm missing and need to add? I don't want to miss anything!

    Required Documents from my joint-sponser:

    • Proof of income tax returns and W-2s from past 3 years ( so I need both tax returns AND W2 from past 3 years?)
    • Signed I-864
    • Proof of U.S. citizenship ( unexpired U.S. passport, U.S. birth certificate or U.S. birth certificate)
    • Proof of U.S. domicile (paystubs, mortgage statements, lease agreements, U.S. bank statements, registering children in U.S. schools, voting in local, State, or Federal elections)- So I just need to collect some of these from my dad?

    Thanks guys!!!

We know. It is the doing the K3 trick to try to speed up the process. It worked for a short while about a year ago. But you know what happens when so many people start doing. After a while they catch on and close the loop.

As of now, it is anecdotal and there has not been any recent word on if it has been success. Maybe minor sporadic instances at best.

The decision is yours if you want to go that route. Just giving you a heads up. Just keep your expectations in check.

Yep, I appreciate that. I still will do it because I want to aid it in anyway I can and wanted help with it.  BUT I do appreciate your words :)

The biggest tip you will likely get is to not do the K3. Because the K3 is dead. There are practically no K3s being completed anymore. For a few years now the K3 has been dying down dramatically to almost non-existence.

You are better focusing your efforts on the spousal visa instead.

My husband follows facebook pages and many couples are quickly getting NOA2 after submitting the k3. Our application is "under review." So some say the K3 brings your application to their attention.

  15. Hi! Has anyone completed an 1-129F K3 application lately with tips and has a cover letter they can share. I see many online but am not sure. Thanks!

Can anyone confirm this is all thats needed?

Cover Letter (please send an example!!)

Copy I-130 Transfer notice ( we were never notified by mail or online BUT when spoke to someone they said we were transfered from Nebraska to Texas)

    Form I-129F

    Passport photo US citizen

    Passport photo spouse

Copy of birth certificate us citizen (does this need to be new?)

    Copy of NOA1

    Marriage certificate (translated)

THANK YOU ALL! We are in this crazy journey together!

  16. Hi!
My husband and I are waiting for NOA2, we applied for our CR1 in October. We have so many questions and want help.

does anyone have a lawyer they recommend? Maybe you’ve used one before that was helpful? We’d want to have a consultation and most likely wouldn’t hire one for the full process just to get clarity.

    thanks!

Filed I-130 via mail on 10/04 and got NOA1 a couple of weeks later. The USCIS receipt showed Texas Service Center but I contacted Ask Emma and learned that my case was transferred to Vermont.

Also filed K3 as soon as we received NOA1 and it is also being processed in Vermont.

Hey I am just finding out about K3.  Is that processing time much quicker?

I know you've made the decision to go for CR-1 already, and I think it's a good decision.  I'm just going to backtrack a bit in the conversation and tell you about my fiancé-now-husband.  We talked a lot over the1.5 years our K-1 was processing about how he would need to be ok with living a life of leisure as a house-husband for up to a year (fingers crossed not longer, though it is possible) once he got here, since he wouldn't be able to work until he received EAD.  I make plenty to support us, so that isn't a problem.  He has been here 4 months and he's going a bit stir crazy:)  He hates feeling like he can't contribute and he feels bad that I sit in my Covid home office working all day while he gardens, cleans, walks dogs, and watches tv.  I keep telling him to enjoy it while he can, but I get it.  It's hard.  It sounds like your fiance has a big brain and sitting around for a year doing nothing but waiting for permission to even start looking for a job will be stressful.

I almost hired a lawyer at the start of the K-1.  It all seems so daunting when it is new and I was afraid to mess it up.  I called and talked to four different lawyers.  One told me to get married and call him back (I didn't want to get married yet), two sounded a lot like Rapid Visa, and the 4th said you don't need me, your case is easy, the paperwork is tedious, but easy. He said I should call him back when we get to AOS.  So I called him back when my fiance got here and he said we didn't need him for AOS either, that I should file the paperwork on my own and call him if somehow we hit any speedbumps. So far he was right.  We filed paperwork for AOS, EAD and AAP along with my i864.  It's not hard, just a little time consuming.  The hard part of all of this is the waiting, the endless waiting.  This forum is great and if you start checking in and reading other folks threads throughout your waiting period, you'll start to know the answers yourself.  I think the CR-1 is the right decision and I'm glad you found this forum in time!

May I ask what lawyer you used? We want to talk to one about our process and there are so many out there

Unfortunately, it is hard to say what an Consulate Officer will see as strong ties.  By law, the COs have to assume someone applying for a B2 has immigration intent and it is up to the applicant to prove otherwise. In your spouse’s case, having a USC spouse along with many other relatives in the US as well as a transient type of job, it will be hard.  If he has property, or school that needs him to return might or might not help.  As @Crazy Cat mentioned, he can try and apply, but the odds do not seem in his favor, so don’t get your hopes up, and he should look at the schedule for the consulate in Tunisia to see if they are even processing regular B2 applications right now.

    Good Luck!

Thank you! So the question is now… will it hurt our current spouse visa application if we do try for tourist? Worse case tourist is denied but we wouldn’t want them to think something is fishy and possibly deny spouse visa or extend processing because they saw we tried for tourist too.

    Thank you!

  20. 3 minutes ago, Crazy Cat said:

You can try.  Just don't set any expectations.  He will have to show strong ties to his country.  Another issue is when he can even get an interview for a B2.  Good luck

See strong ties is the issue. His whole family is here and he has a car but he doesn’t work in Tunisia he’s working online with Asian clients. What else could show strong  ties ?

  21. Hello. My Tunisian husband and I applied for the CR-1 in October. We received the NOA1 and it was sent to Nebraska. We are waiting to hear back about the next steps and interview

we really want my husband to attend my brothers wedding in March in America. We know we won’t have the interview and be approved by then. So can we apply for the tourist visa to America while we are waiting?  I see it may look sketchy. Has anyone does this or have advice. Tunisia is giving tourist visas now.

    please help and give advice!
    thank you!
