  1. Another milestone for Wael! He is now a graduate from the University of Arizona!!

    He will leave Friday for a 2 wk holiday with his family in Alexandria! Hasn't been home

    since arriving here 3 1/2 yrs ago. It's exciting for him to return to Egypt as a new

    citizen also. His accelerated MBA program will begin June 4. He's worked so hard!!

    :dance: :dance: YOU DID IT!!!! :star: :star:

    Congrats to Wael Jeanne!!!!! :thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance::star:

  2. If you had a "Valid" reason such as your spouse had to look after his bed bound sick mum/dad or work related or something in that nature that "could" be over looked..

    But for reasons you have given this could open a can of worms you don't need just of now....so simply avoid it by waiting just a little longer, then it won't become a issue later.

    Yep it's best to put your application on the back burner/shelf, for now until things settle down a bit..:thumbs:

    In the meantime make sure you both file "joint" taxes, before you decide to file..uscis looks at this close when your application is based on 3 yrs.

    I wish you both well :thumbs:

    thanks :thumbs:

  3. Wow! Fox is reporting the Pakistanis have an eye witness in custody that was in the room when bin Ladin was shot, his 20 year old wife, and the Pakistanis are not cooperating with the US.

    now tell since when did they EVER "truly cooperate".. this man was in your country and you didn't know?!?!??! you've got to be kidding right :help::wacko: so nooooooooooooooo we(US) didn't have to "tell you" that we were going to go after him... :bonk:

  4. Yes will need to be continiously living together for three years to apply for citizenship based on 3 years with citizen.

    Residency began Aug 2008. However it was interrupted by that 8 months, so in order to apply for citizenship, need to start at the time after the 8 month interruption.

    What was the cause of interruption? In some cases like US Citizen doing military service, the interruption would not count.

    we weren't getting along at all.. but since he came back in Oct 2009, things have been so much better.. so you're saying it has to be continual.. so we won't be able to file in May of this year :crying:

  5. I have a question.. My husband became a conditional resident August 2008 and a permanent resident January 2011.. however we were separated for 8 months from February 2009 to October 2009.. the instuctions say that in order to apply for citizenship we would have to be married for 3 years or continually living together for 3 years or something like that.. would this cause a problem for use filing this year or will we have to wait until next year.. it wasn't a problem with the 751 that we were separated.. thank you for your answers in advance :thumbs:

  6. ok here is the email my husband sent me about the interview.. please forgive the mispellings :blush:

    "here is our interview and how it went

    the officer came and called us to let us in,we were the only people waiting for roc interview

    so we got in her offic,she introduced herself and said she was gonna interview us,then she asked us to raise our hands and that we swear or affirm that w'd tell the truth so we did and we were seated,she began by saying have you anything to show me and my wife had a file with our documents in it so my wife started by handing some affidavits to her,they were 3 and then letters from 2 banks shows we have joint accounts in both of them,then she asked are y'all still living in the same address we said yes,then she asked me,how long have u been staying in this address,and i said since we got married in aprill 08,then she asked me about my birth date and my ssn,she asked if i have kids,i said no,then she asked my wife if she has kids she said yes she has 2,then she asked me if i know her kids i said yes and i told her their full names,then again my wife gave her a letter from her employment shows that we have life insaurance and health insuarance together and how long she is been in her current job and all kinda stuff,then she asked me have i ever commited crime or anything,i said no,then she asked have i ever been in removing proceeding or deportation or something i said no then she went back to the first question,she asked me again have you always been living in the same address,i told her yes,but we were separated for a while it was 8 month and we got back together in oct 09,she then asked have we always been together since oct of 09,i said yes, i told her we already mentioned that on the form,and that i stayed in 3 different address,then she asked in alabama?i said yes but i stayed in missouri for 3 month she asked who did i stay with in missouri,i said to her a friend of mine,then she asked about other addresses i said i stayed with my boss and i stayed in a shelter too,then my wife gave her our tax statements that we filed for 2009 in 2010,she asked about the one in 09 we said we did it separately then coz we were separated but we still had them,she didnt want them,my wife also showed her the house deed and the car title that have both of our names,i dont remember if she took them since she had copy of them in the file anyway,then i asked her if she wanted to see pictures she said yes so i handed them to her she started looking at them and asked if she could keep some we said yes,so she went through them,and picked some to put them in the file,also my wife give her an announcement about my sister death from her job,coz she died on the 14th,she took that and i gave her a letter from my employment shows how long i have beeen working for them and how much i get paid coz we didnt know who was the petitioner spouse that they want a letter from their employer so i got one from my job anyway and gave it to her,after all of that she started typing something on the pc,then she gave me approval notice,and i asked her was it already in the system she said yes,then we asked about the gc,she said it takes few month but anyway it went really smoothly,our attorney didnt say anything at the interview,it went pretty easy,we left the office happy,and we wish good luck to all of you" so it was pretty easy.. we did use an attorney just in case but will not on the n400.. so we hope this helps someone.. ours was kinda different.. thanks for all of your help and many blessings to all of you :thumbs::star:

  7. After what has seemed like years, we were approved for our I-751.. I will give more details about what questions they asked when habibi and I can sit down and write them down.. Thanks everyone for your prayers and your knowledge of the process.. I know we have one more step with citizenship, but the hard part is over for us.. Yayyy habibi will get his card good for 10 years.. I'm so happy and relieved considering our case.. but God is good.. thanks again :thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance::star::yes::D(L) (full of emotions)

  8. :dance: :dance: Wael passed his citizenship interview this morning! :dance: :dance:

    We're so excited to think only one more thing to do now. Wait for his oath date!

    His final semester was to begin today, but with the president going to speak at the University of Arizona,

    all classes will begin tomorrow.

    Hope everyone is having a good day! Beautiful day here...sunny with a high of 66.

    Congratulations Jeanne and Wael :thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance::thumbs::dance::star:

  9. :crying: I'm so sorry about what you are going through.. the drug thing, I think you need to leave him alone.. try to seek a shelter, your church(mosque), you can call the ssa at 1-800-772-1213.. I work for them.. once you get through to a live person, tell them your situation and ask them to look on the referral screen according to your zipcode and see if there are facilities there to help you.. you HAVE to take care of you and the baby.. the man will have to take care of himself before he can even think of taking care of someone else... he has to get himself straight.. he may seriously want to but all these other things going on he will have a hard time doing.. when you're on drugs, the drug IS your priority, nothing else matters.. I pray that God will continue to help you and your baby and that NO ONE will take your baby away from you.. that's YOUR child.. do what you have to do for them.. God bless you!!!!! (F)(L)
  10. Is this a letter from the attorney asking you to bring all this stuff? By medical do you mean an updated medical exam? If so, just bring that with you to the interview. The six affidavits are OTT if you ask me. We had no affidavits but brought photos of us with our respective families. I would bring more photos and any joint mail or joint account info you have with you to the interview. Pictures don't have to be dated or anything. Have someone take a few photos of you two together before the interview and take the ones you have with him and your daughter.

    Immigration is asking for these things.. they want to know about the health insurance.. I said medical by mistake... the atty wanted to do 6 affidavits and we still got called for an interview.. we have really no photos but maybe 2 together in 2008.. a few 01/09. then we separated from 02/09-10/09.. we reunited 10/09/09.. we have a few for later that year.. a few for 2010 before sending the 751 and a few afterward.. no cards from family or friends, although they know we're married.. the computer I ordered from dell in 10/10, I tried to tell them to put both names on the invoice but they didn't.. most of the pictures I have of my husband and other people and that one picture of us was on our old computer and I accidently deleted the user account without saving them to a flashdrive.... we will try to bring all that we can.. but we don't know about the questions they will ask.. I mean we live together and all, but sometimes don't get out to do a lot of things because of our work schedules.. he's off during the week and I'm off on the weekend.. so when I get home I help with homework, cook(or buy takeout :bonk: alot).. then he comes home from work and he's really tired.. this is my third marriage :bonk: and with my first 2 I don't have any pictures of us together.. but we were married.. oh well.. just trying to think about what's in that file they have in front of them and the silly questions they will ask.. thanks for your responses everyone :thumbs:

  11. I'm surprised they really want those affidavits... I mean, anyone could write those up, and every hobo could sign them... it wouldn't mean much to me if I was the I.O. Isn't this like some standardized letter where they name all these things?

    Yes, I believe so.. but in our case, we're going to try and do what they asked for.. we really don't know what to expect.. stokes, etc... I do not want to be asked stupid questions like what did you eat last Wednesday.. heck I don't even remember where I park in the morning at work sometimes or at the store :wacko:

  12. I think every interview letter says "bring 2 photos".

    Yea that's what the letter says.. it also says for me to get a current letter from my employer about my employment there jobs held, and health insurance information.. I didn't have a letter from my employer when he sent off the file but I did have our health insurance information.. the atty didn't send that.. we sent 6 affidavits and now this letter says bring two, 1 from a neighbor.. but our neighbors don't know us that well to write one.. some of the utilities bills I paid online and they were in my name.. but I can't get those from 2008.. any suggestions :unsure: and will they likely do a stokes interview since we were separated for 8 months.. plus we really don't have any pictures together from 2008.. I have pictures of him and my daughter or other people because I was taking the pictures... :unsure:
