  1. You're right. It wasn't really a "Welcome Letter" but rather a Fee Invoice - and yes, there was a checklist. Would that be it? Does that mean that my PD is current or almost current? I only ask because my attorney warned me I could be waiting for many months because I was born in Hong Kong and Trump issued an Executive Order a couple of years back requiring DOS to lump Hong Kong with Mainland China vs. ROW the way it was done before. Not sure if that applies to my case. The fact that they're asking for my money and all these documents makes me think I might be coming up sooner than later?
  2. I just submitted my DS-260 on CEAC via my approved I-140 petition. I don't see a Civil Documents column nor an option to upload the documents. Will I be getting a letter at some point instructing me on how to send in the required documents to NVC? Or do I just have to do it proactively? The email confirmation I got just says they received my DS-260, and that everything will be reviewed together, but no instructions on when or how to send in the Civil Documents, or whether an online option will be made available at some point. I was also told that I'd have to wait for a visa to become available, however, CEAC has already asked/accepted my payment and asked me to complete the DS-260. Does that mean my visa is available or almost available? I'm EB-1, but because I was born in Hong Kong, I wasn't sure if my PD would be with China or ROW because of the Trump Executive Order. Does anyone with experience know what steps will follow?
  3. Has anyone received a Premium Processing email notice where the Petitioner is a person's name (not a company) and it shows the below? Petitioner is John Doe while Beneficiary is Doe, John. I was hoping to find out if I was the only one or if my name as the petitioner was written backwards. Thanks in advance. Petitioner: JOHN DOE Petitioner Mailing Address: XXX Classification: XXX Priority Date: XXX Beneficiary: DOE, JOHN
  4. Does anyone have definitive knowledge of when an A-Number is assigned when applying for CR-1 via Consular Processing? I ask because I had an I-130 petition filed abroad which was approved, then it was sent to NVC before we withdrew the petition. We were part way through filing the DS-260, etc. We never scheduled/nor attended an interview at the consulate. I want to know if an Alien Number would have been assigned at any point, either at USCIS with the I-130 approval, or at the NVC before we withdrew. I know with the I-140, the A-Number is issued upon approval, but none of my I-797s have an A-Number listed. A FOIA didn't yield any information other than the form I-130 we submitted, which had no information or reference to an A-Number written on it.
  5. How easy is it to request a copy of one's I-140, specifically the presentation letter and evidence attached to the initial I-140? Long story short, my attorney sent in a presentation letter with multiple versions. I wanted to verify that USCIS has the correct version. I was hoping to access my I-140 package as sent in with the presentation letters, evidence, etc. It was an EB-1 self-petition, so I am the applicant. Will USCIS provide the materials that went along with the I-140 form itself if I request it?
