  1. Hi guys, I’ve been following this forum for a while and got a lot of great information here, so wanted to share our interview experience and see if anyone else is in a similar position.

Came here in 2017 on a CR1 visa after getting approved on the spot at AOS interview in US consulate in Canada.

2019 filed for ROC and after almost 2 years finally today we got our ROC interview. Happily married for 5 years total, living together, working together, no kids, but a dog.

The interview was scheduled at 8 45am, but we didn’t get called in until 10am. The officer was actually really nice and it was more conversational, me and my spouse were not separated during the interview. She directed some questions to me and some to the spouse and anytime one of us spoke, the other would add details just cause that’s how we are in every conversation. Some questions she asked:

    Each other’s date of birth

    Each other’s phone numbers

How and when we met and how our relationship evolved. For this one, she asked us to tell as many details as possible so we actually spent most of the interview telling our love story.
She told us that she hasn’t been able to review our file properly before the interview and the decision cannot be made on the spot unfortunately. But she did say that based on the interview she would approve us, so fingers crossed. She also said that if there’s any documents missing, we’ll get an RFE, but we’re hoping that’s not the case since we submitted literally everything we had and attained lawyer services from the start of our case just so everything is done properly. Right now the uscis site is still showing the “interview has been scheduled” message which is so nerve racking, just want the status to change to something! If anyone here went through ROC interview, how long did it take for the status to change?
