  1. Ive never heard anyone call a mexican a "spanish". I have heard people call anyone who speaks spanish a mexican. Its just ignorance I think.
It doesn't take any speaking Spanish, actually. My wife is mistaken for a Mexican quite often. By Mexicans, actually. They usually have the look like a train just hit them when she says that she's from Africa. Just thought I toss that in since we're talking about ignorance...
    Interesting.

It is indeed. Other than her complexion, I'm really not sure what would lead anyone to believe she's Mexican.

Sometimes I guess that's all it takes. She could really blow their minds and learn some spanish to tell them shes from Africa lol

My best friend is Sri Lankan and when she started working in our office.. everyone was "what is she?" lol The guesses were everything from "black" to "pakistani" lol I found it quite amusing.

Your littlegirl is a dollbaby btw

  3. Ok,

I will leave this one for wiser heads to figure out; I know it is something to do with how sequences of numbers form certain patterns - but I am too lazy to really try and work out the details. That doesn't mean it isn't impressive, because it is . . .

    http://digicc.com/fido/

I think it has to do with process of elimination? The program runs possibilities based on your "last number" entered? The program would know how many digits you chose based on that. That would give the possibilities and come up with the missing number. ?? Thats basically what you said.. Im lazy too lol

  4. He has no children. I have a 4 y.o son. If I moved 5 miles away, he'd come with me!!

Honestly, it depends on the age of the children I guess, if we were older and I was marrying an older guy with older kids.. i.e adults... then I would have an easier time with him "leaving" them.

If he had small children, or even teenagers I would have a VERY hard time accepting that!

My dad moved 2500 miles away when I was a teen and I was bitter lol .. I cant imagine a parent moving accross an ocean!

  5. There is no one formula with human beings and the dynamics of each relationship varies.

I have heard many accounts of the man spoiling the woman once he works here and make her contributions up to her.

    Well said!

and I expect to be spoiled rotten when he gets here! j/k :)

  6. 1. my husband's father does not have a date or month of his birthdate, he has just the year in his birth document. so should we put just the year? will this cause a hiccup in paperwork?

2: Evidence of a bonafide marriage:

    - Affidavits sworn: should the persons showed in our marriage certificate be enough as Affidavits sworn? or do we still need some people from his family to write letters for us to prove that?

Is this enough to prove a bonafide marriage?

Should we ask a few people who were present at the wedding to write letters?

    3. common residence: we stayed in the same house all the time during morocco, how can we prove that?

does that qualify as a common residence? or do we have to rent/lease/buy a home together for it qualify as common residence?

    4. how can i file and send the form i-130 and I-129F together at the same time if everywhere i read says to wait for the NOA and send it with the I-129F?

    5. Sponsor:

do they need to own their own home? or if their income meets the 125% do they need other assets?

which document should my co-sponsor fill out, and he is a lawful Lawful Permanent Resident in a different state... is that acceptable? or does it have to be a US citizen?

besides my spouse's affidavit of support how many cosponsors can we have.... just one other sponsor besides my spouse or is more allowed?

example: US spouse and 2 co-sponsors..... is that possible?

I am just beginning this... and these are the questions we have so far... sorry lol

First of all....Congrats on your marriage!!!!

I will be starting the same process very soon, so I dont have any input from experience yet. :)

I do know that I have read that your spouse cannot be a co-sponsor on the affidavit of support.

Also, Im going to send as many affidavits from witnesses and family as possible.

Also, you dont send the 130 and 129 together perse, but as soon as you get that NOA, you send it in with the 129. Please read the thread in the ME/NA forum about a lady who just got her K3 kicked out because of filing times (she is now filing for CR-1).. I was confused by this and it appears that filing for a k3 isnt as easy as it appears. :(

Good luck with everything and I wish you and your new husband a happy life together!

  7. Its a long story, but this skank likes my best friend here at work, and he doesnt like her. Well she kept blaming me for it (like i have a husband i dont care what Kurt - the best friend does),she told him he had to stop being friends with me and my husband and choose her, and he said no, bc his friends are more important and she verbally attacked me last week, and threatened me in 3 different ways. HR still has not confronted her about this issue. i feel like i dont matter as an employee and she has even begun harrassing me again this mornig. ####### can i do about this HR and skank thing?

EVERYTHING has to be investigated. These things take time to process with legal. When you mention the word "harrassment" or "attacked" in the workplace, its never a quick fix. Interviews should/will be conducted with all parties and all witnesses.

    Document, Document,Document!

As someone said already, it is not always your "right" to know what disciplinary action, if any, was taken.

It is your right however, to work in a hostile free environment.

  8. From what we're told, the difference is,.. the process now takes 7-10 days. So he's trying to do everything except the blood test (obviously) :) before I get there.

Its so difficult when you are told different things each time you go ask questions at the court. :(

Im a bit of a control freak so, I want to know all the details of course! Soooo, Im going to go do my favorite thing... RESEARCH heh heh

    Thanks guys!

  9. I just read of someone being forced to pursue a CR visa after the 130 was approved before the 129F. ??

I thought the applying for the K3 allowed you the option to choose to pursue the K3 OR the CR-1

    "K-3 Spouse Visa General Discussion

If you are married to a non US Citizen and you both wish to live together and immigrate to the USA then the K3 visa is a possible option for you. General discussion relating to K4 Visas should also go here. People who file for a K-3 have automatically also filed for a IR1/CR1 Visa (I-130) and can persue that visa if it is approved faster than the K-3. "

Please help me wrap my head around this?

    Thanks

    Lisa

that person is me. I talked to three different people at VSC today using the RFE trick and they said it is now the policy to terminate the I-129F when the I-130 is approved. They kept insisting that I didn't understand what the K3 is for. I kept insisting that they didn't understand that the K3 is still faster even with the I-130 approval.

You don't really have the option. You can try to play the game and run both at once if the I-130 gets approved long before the I-129F. But then again, you may end up either having the I-130 being terminated because of inactivity (if a year passes) or the I-129F terminated like what they did to me. I would venture to say (in hindsight) if your I-130 is approved early on and your I-129F is still pending.. try to run them both. Keep the I-130 alive. If the K3 gets approved than woo hoo to you. If it gets terminated it won't all be lost because the CR1 will still be going. (I wasn't smart enough to do that.. I let the CR1 sit idle all this time).

So, then the K3 really isnt an option anymore, unless the processing time is impeccable? So it sounds like a general ####### shoot.. you can apply for k3 and if 130 is approved first, go for the CR1...if not then youre in for the K3?

I didnt want to post my confusion on your thread, because you were already distraught. Thank you for responding even though you are going thru such a hard time. My thoughts are with you and your child.

  11. Hey guys,

I was just wondering about everyone's areas. Is there a large or small ME immigrant community in your city? If your spouses or fiances are already here, has this had any impact on them or you?

There is a relatively small number of ME immigrants here in Louisville. I am comparing that to So. Cal, where I grew up so maybe thats not a fair statement :)

It seems we are an eclectic group here. Some from larger cities, some not.

Do you guys think seeing or hearing people from your native region and/or cultural backround would make "adjusting" any easier?

    Lisa

  12. Well, I have always been intersted in learning everything I can about all cultures outside my own. Im a bit of a nerd and read alot about random things.. other cultures and religions included.

So, I knew alot about middle eastern and muslim culture. I also have had some ME friends whom I asked lots of questions. :)

When I met him.. he was suprised that I knew what I did.

Im still learning all the time of course. I think in all things, if I ever stop learning... Im in trouble.

I do realize that once he gets here, it will be a whole new adventure. Not only will I be learning more about his culture "hands on".. he will be learning ours.

I am super excited to go to Jordan in Jan!!!! yeah!!

  13. Honestly I would venture to say that most of the women on this board did not seek out a younger man on purpose but it just happened that way. At least that is my experience and what I have read about the population numbers backs it up.

    Any thoughts?

I think that is a very fair statement.

I am 8 years older, which is very unusual for me. I always dated guys at least 10 years my elder, until now.

It's funny, right before I met my habibi.. I was saying to myself, maybe I'm finally old enough to start dating guys my own age (Im 29) lol

I ended up with one younger, and its perfectly fine with me!
