  1. I was reading an article a few months ago touching on the subject that Egyptians are seeking US brides, because of the inability to marry at home, due to financial reasons. I think this plays a HUGE role in "taking the other option". Im sure its not just Egyptians, btw.

Here, I dont think couples think about it much.. it's I love you, you love me.... and we'll make it somehow hee hee

  2. So what your saying is...

the CR1 visa is simply filing the I-130 form WITHOUT sending in the form I-129F after receiving the Notice of Action?

I am a bit confused on this also.

    I thought the K3 WAS the I-130.

Is it not? Please help me with my DISCOMBOBULATION. hahaha

    Leedah

its all a bit confusing, the 130 is for cr-1, when you file the 129f after receiving the NOA, you are then filing k-3. But now there is some confusion and rumor that the K-3 is no konger available ??? this really clears things up for you, huh? lol

  3. Hey guys, I knw there has been some confusion on this.. I have read so many different things about the procedures for filing a k-3. We are going to start the process soon as well. I have also heard the rumors/information out there about the K-3 not being an option any longer :( Has anyone gotten a solid answer on this yet?

Anyway, about filign procedures for K-3:

I found this on the uscis website.

    How Do I Apply?

So that the non-citizen spouse and child may apply for a K-3 nonimmigrant visa for a spouse and a K-4 nonimmigrant visa for a child, the citizen must file Form I-130 on behalf of the non-citizen spouse with the applicable Service Center having jurisdiction over the citizen’s place of residence. The citizen petitioner will then receive a Form I-797, Notice of Action, indicating that the I-130 has been received by the USCIS. The citizen should then file a copy of this I-797, along with a Form I-129F on behalf of the non-citizen spouse and any children, to the Service Center where the underlying I-130 petition is pending. Use the address listed on the most recent receipt notice or transfer notice and include a copy of that notice with your Form I-129F.

Petitioners should be careful to follow all instructions on each form and provide the Service with all necessary documentation. Following adjudication of the Form I-129F, the petition will be forwarded to the applicable consulate so that the alien beneficiary or beneficiaries may apply to the Department of State for nonimmigrant K-3/K-4 visas

    Hi,

IT IS TO FILE FIRST THE IR-130 THEN WHEN U FILED IT ALREADY, THEY WILL SEND YOU NOA (FORM 797) , WHEN U RECEIVED THE NOA ALREADY YOU CAN THEN FILE FOR 129-F (K3).. (L)

Yes. thats exactly what Im saying. I saw that some ppl were filing them together or just waiting a week without the NOA, this is why I posted that. To help :)

  4. OI OI OI!!!! the lady is simply expressing her experience ,,,,you may think Marc Ellis is the best thing since sliced bread ...and good for you ...you of course, have the right to defend him. You are in a position to be able to explain what he did for you if you have used his services you could have constructive information ....but our primary purpose here is help each other - the OP is asking for confirmation that this information is correct...she is seeking help from people who have been there - she is a little frustrated because as i read her post she has more or less had her hopes dashed ( at least that her perception) and in her shoes i might have written the same kind of sentiment in my haste .....so lets just ease up on the defensive and see if anyone can add to her experience.

I actually prefer flatbread. Regardless ,I do have one piece of advice that I am willing to share with the OP:

If you are using Yahoo Messenger then the chats will be stored on your computer automatically.

Actually you need to set that under "preferrences" then "archive"

  5. Ok everyone,

Im sorry in advance, because I know this has been a really difficult thing for alot of people...

We will be mailing off our 130 very soon and I want to wrap my head around this first, so Ive been thinking:

I know there has been some uproar about K-3's being cancelled. Some posters are saying that the USCIS has said that the K-3 is no longer an option and it will be cancelled. While others are being approved :insert confusion:

I have also noticed that some are not following the instructions which state that you should wait for an NOA on your i-130, THEN send in the i-129F with the NOA attached.

    So, here is my question:

    Is there a common denominator?

Are the people who are getting this "the k-3 isnt valid anymore" the ones who have followed the procedure or ones who just filed the two petitions together, or before the NOA on the i-130 has been received? Or both?

Thanks for your input and experience. I appreciate any clarification you guys can offer!

  7. Capt Ewok,

I am about 5' 7" in barefeet and would like to be taller. I have clicked on 'My controls' but I can't find anything there to help me. Under 'Change Personal Photo', it says I can be no bigger than 150 pixels. What is that in imperial measurements? I was hoping for about 6'. Also, it doesn't seem to make me any better-looking either.

Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

    SteveLaura

Im 6 foot.. its not all its cracked up to be lol

  8. ok... now I'm confused..... um.... should I send in my K3 or not? everyone is saying something different.....:wacko::unsure:

I first read this new months ago, it was posted by a member here that her k-3 was canceled or something, I freaked out and was THOROUGHLY confused.

I have not read anything on the uscis website, nothing in the weekly newletters.. and we have ppl of VJ getting approved for k-3's. I think we are ok. :fingers crossed:

  9. Hey There Delilah- Plain white tees

    This one kinda ruins me

"Don't you worry about the distance

I'm right there if you get lonely

    Give this song another listen

    Close your eyes

Listen to my voice, it's my disguise

    I'm by your side"

"But they've got planes and trains and cars

I'd walk to you if I had no other way"

  10. I know very little. All the lovey dovey talk of course hee hee

I am trying to learn some basic phrases before I go to Jordan and meet the family next month :D

I learn mostly from him. I have found a few sites that have some very basic arabic sentences, and words. I have heard wonderful things about the Rosetta Stone programs.

I am hoping once he gets here, I will learn quickly ha ha

  11. welcome :D i hope ur journey would be short and smooth inshaAllah.

Welcome to the group! Does Jordan not do DCF?

    was wondering the same thing!!!

Yep, Amman does.. I think you have to be a citizen and live there for 2 years though.

Anyway, WELCOME, I wish your process to be as short as possible and that you are reuntied with your love soon.

  12. Im sorry to hear you are going through that. Im sure, as everyone has basically said.. most of us have gone or are going through it.

I was fortunate to have had my older brother do this before me. His wife is from London, and they met online. So, the family has already been through this once.

I look to him for support now. That has also given me the unique perspective of being the family member on the other side. When he told me he was marrying a woman he met online, that he hadnt known very long, I flipped.

Im sure I wasnt as supportive as he needed me to be. Now I understand what he went through.

So, I dont have to imagine what my family is thinking about this whole thing, I know.

My dad gave me the "I cant say Im happy about this but..if youre happy, thats all that matters" speech a while back.

Before that came about.. he made sure and told me that women are like cattle in ME countries and that my husband would "own" me. That he could just "put me out on the street if he didnt like me anymore" I just laughed and told him that he was mistaken.

I understand that some people are very driven by what their family thinks. I am still at times, but have learned that it is MY life after all. I am 29 years old and I dont have to please my parents or family anymore. I just have to love them :)

The judgement on your fiance's social class would get under my skin as well.

I would say something like.. Well, unlike others in the family, I dont juge people based on their income or living situation... You guys made a better life for yourselves once you came here right? heh heh

But, hey I can be a bit passive/aggresive sometimes :)
