  1. Congrats on the earlier date :dancing: Sara, do you really think he will get AP after all of the time it spent at USCIS? God, I would like to think not... prayers for you and him to have a wonderful December wedding ;)

thank you..i hope to have dec wedding as far as the ap i pretty much expect it because first he comes from kashmir second he is muslim......

thank you for ur prayers we are going to need them this is delhi we are dealing with an so far their batting average for k1 is not so good for the applicants but every once in awhile they give approval when ur expecting to have to fight it :)

    sara

well, i sure hope you guys are an exception then.

I was just thinking that they cant possibly need more background checks seeing as they were supposedly running them for all that time you guys waited (F)

  2. Remind him that the employees there he is trying to impress are American's, not Iranians. :P

This reminds me of the first time I flew out to meet my husband. He wore a suit to the airport. He was so nervous when he met me it was way funny. We get a good laugh about it now.

Yeah, me personally, I would wear jeans and a polo shirt. Over the summer when I went to the consulate to get some papers, I wore cargo shorts and a t-shirt and he thought I was crazy to go in dressed like that. My dad said he is mailing my husband a navy blue polo shirt with a little American flag on it so I'm thinking I might have him wear that with the khaki pants in case I get a chance to mention to the CO that it was a gift from my dad.

    good idea!

  3. Forget about the combining incomes and the 864A. Fill out one with your income and your dad fills out one with his(marking cosponsor), send them both back in. It sounds like that will solve it

Jeni, I know Cairo isnt known for responding quickly but why dont you try calling or emailing them and just ask if they want a new one for you....maybe that will put your mind at ease.

Good idea! It'll take a week for them to respond but it sounds like the week's break of worrying will be worth it!

I did email them and it does take them a long time to respond so I am hoping they do it quickly. Ok I am starting to understand my father and I both need to do I-864 and not combine incomes I do one and put my income and he does the other and puts his income but on the I-864 it has a place that ask you how many people are in your household size my kids and I are living there with my parents so should my father still add us to his household size and me also add mom and dad to my household size on my I-864. I am not working but going to college so truefully my dad is supporting me and my kids. I just dont know what to put for household size thanks.

I *think* you add yourself, your kids and hubby... and your dad adds his dependents(just your mom ?) and your husband.

If your dad isnt claiming your kids as dependents, I dont think he needs to on the AOS. But read the instructions carefully and it should tell you about how to calculate household size(IE- who is counted where)

I do know you both want to account for your husband in your household sizes.

  4. 1 voting with the suit is over the top. Yazied talked about it and wanted to wear one for a minute.

He ended up wearing nice jeans and shirt.

Morning MENA, went shopping, more to pack, LOL, hardly packed, but doing it this evening, did all the laundry, matched outfits, pulled the jewelry out to match up and etc. and clean off the shoes and purses.

Now I should be able to get the packing done this pm and finish tomorrow with the little things.

Bought hubby nice polo type OP shirt to wear, and new pants, I dont know what is in his closet since February, Frightful to think of, LOL. Now since I see it all laid out, its going to be easy peezy now .

awesome Beth. It sounds like you will be totally ready and no crazy last minute packing  you might show up with a few matching outfits after all :P

Im way excited for you :D

the best advise is dont ask why, just send them EXACTLY what they are asking for. :)

    good luck

That is what I was thinking just send to them what they ask for but like when I filled out the I-864 I filled out the form and added my father's income to mine so we could combine income since my father did I-864A and we are living together but if I do a I-864 for my father then what do I do on my I-864 not add his income or add him as household count? that is confusing me cuz I know when I do I-864 and I get housemember to do I-864A u add their income and household count on MY I-864 but if he is not doing a I-864A then I am not sure what I put here. Because I am living with my joint sponsor and he is my father

So, you submitted the first 864 and just included his income to yours on 1 single 864? and then you included the 864A right?

I just searched VJ and it seems that he needs to fill out his own 864 using the "cosponsor" choice. You also fill yours out. In other words, you DO need TWO 864's...one for you and one for your father.

    http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...0004718190aRCRD

that would make sense seeing as they are asking for one from him. I hope that helps

So I already completed a I-864 and included my fathers income and mine together and put on my I-864 that there is 7 people in the household my mom, dad, me, my 3 kids, and my sponsored husband so if my father does the I-864 that will look like we are not living with him because I thought if you live with family member they only fill out the I-864A so does that mean I need to complete another I-864 and disregard the other one I did and not add my fathers income to my I-864 since the embassy doesnt want the I-864A. Im just so confused because I thought I filled out the I-864 and if i was living with my father and he was helping me sponsor my husband then he would fill out the I-864A

did you try and search for any info here on this? I did a 134 with no cosponsor.... Im just reaching here going on what I found here on VJ and USCIS. I understand your confusion because everything i had casually read said you do an 864 and an 864a. However, after digging for it, i saw the above which is why i said "it seems". I would try posting in the consulate or CR1 forum also you will probably get 1500 people with experience to answer you. Breath, it will be ok and you will get an answer :)

well, there ya go... people were posting before i hit submit

  8. And doing the housework is NOT her job, unless that was your previous agreement or maybe you are planning on having children.

Do not listen to others whose cultures may be different than yours and hers. Cultures play a big part in this.

If you are referring to me saying that is IS her job if she is not working... well, Im an american female so I dont think that my culture is different from the OP's. Im not pretending to know about his wifey's culture.. I was just speaking from my standpoint, as an american female :)

I think, if one spouse is not working or going to school and they are home all day.. they should take on the house as their "job" either the husband or wife. That just seems fair to me. If he is working all day then he should come home to a clean house, just like before my husband got his EAD.. I came home to a clean house everyday

  9. Will there be pics of the family to show the CO? You showing up at the interview is fine but that alone may not be convincing enough. Esp since they don't sit you both down in a room and observe. He still will be interviewed alone. If it's anything like Egypt they do it through a bank teller type window and the CO is behind glass.

Paris is like that, I hate those glass windows!!! But will stand up there with him if allowed.

Best wishes Ally on your new journey!!!

you are sur eyou can get in there though right? That would be great if they let you go sit/stand up there too

Yes a spouse is allowed to attend, but you know what, I think I will make a on line appointment for notary service or something to show I have business there!!! Good thinking Lisa!!!

No services for Americans at the embassy on Wednesdays, I better email embassy to make sure I can enter, UGH!!!!

Paris embassy emailed me this am, I CAN attend interview!Just show guard out front my passport!! Think I will also take copy of email from embassy along.

    great!

  10. It has been hard for Mo to take time off work because he has only been with Orange about 6 months. We had to use the few days he could get in the beginning to try to do all the paperwork to get married. Those crazy trips from embassy to foreign ministry to one court then another! I thought it would never end! And due to my lupus condition, I have to watch how much time I spend in the sun... another obstacle to seeing all the sites when the temp is still 85-90. Hoping it will not be so hot when I return in Feb or March and we can do more. Some things we just can't control. But we do plan a quick trip to Aqaba before I return next month. Time is passing so fast here!

oh, the firey hoops you have to jump through to get married there, sheesh! lol At least you guys are in Amman already.

I went in Jan and it was nice, still sunny but not hot. I would imagine Feb would be about the same.

Is it the heat or the actual sun that effects you?

The heat and the sun are both bad for me. Actually doctor's orders are to avoid the sun. But in the last 13 1/2 years of living with this I have learned my limits. The biggest thing I hated was when he said "no tanning beds again... ever!" But I have done what I had to in order to stay healthy... a lot of meds, blood work almost every month, trips to the doc... and I know it would be hard to live here and get the health care I sometimes need.

I finally stood up to them all last year and went back to work outside of my home. It was the first time in 13 years I had worked besides the photo business I had at home with my ex. But it made me feel sooo much better about myself! And now I even have 2 jobs! LOL!

oh, im sorry. Dont grieve the tanning bed too much, they're horrible for ya ;)

well, you will have much more "freedom" when you go back in feb or march then.

Its good that you went back out in the workforce. If you know you can do it, why stay at home right? :D

  12. no hun, dental work wont keep him out.

    Maureen,

    Thanks for sharing :) Videotaped...yikes!

I guess you filed the K3 when it was really doing its job..getting approved WAY before the 130.

I've actually heard Louisville is really easy to deal with, which is nice to know.

    Olivia,

did you find out anything in the meeting, or probably they need time to contact them and get back to you huh. Keep us posted and take it easy

Whew!!! Thanks Lisa, can you tell, the nerves are shot? Will do the packing thing this evening, feeling like reality finally that this is truly happening!!!

it is!! it is happening...get to packing woman! :P

  14. ha! i dont know if they do or not but those type of questions are asked of some. i have a friend who got GRILLED during their AOS. questions about dinner meals the last week, things like that....

the toothbrush thing was amusing me the other day at any rate :P

Yazied was working 6-7 days a week but took off 2 weeks for my trip. We did some touristy things while I was in JO, like um qess which was amazing! we also did many everyday things like shopping and dinner and meeting with family ect. I was also lucky to be there during his aunts wedding party and got to meet the 3857668947 realatives lol

The last couple days I was there he wanted to take me to petra and the dead sea but I said next time, i want to relax and enjoy it with some lazy "us" days. I should have let him take me to Petra though! I wont have a choice next time, he says... we WILL go see all of those things. no argument from me now lol

Do whatever you like, thats what i say...but you'll probably regret not seeing those things later. Especially if you wont be having many trips home after he moves here.

Actually, it is up to the CO if a spouse can attend. The CO might ask you a few questions but then will ask you to sit back down to conduct the interview. I know this because I was at my fiance's interview in Buenos Aires.

Stasshi I hope so, maybe them just knowing I attended will help in their decision. I wonder if NVC forwarded the 15 pound notebook of evidence I sent to USCIS? I not sure if I should take it all again to interview, or just the new phone bills and emails, etc.

if it was tied to your file, then they should Beth
