  1. I'm curious. Since you can send in your I-129F the moment you receive the NOA1 from your I-130 back, aren't you only technically pushing it "WAY BACK TO THE END OF THE LINE" by only ten days to two weeks?

My I-129F was received @ CSC only 7 days after my I-130 was accepted and only 1 day after I received my NOA1 in the mail.

Yep, it was 3 weeks for us. Now, back then VSC was pushing K3's to the way back, to gather dust and termites :P

but now they are processing them along the same timeline as CR1's (posted 6 months).

My I-130 NOA1 and I-129F(K3) NOA 1 were 6 days apart. I received my NOA1 for I-129F 11 days after my NOA1 date for I-130. So basically it was pushed only 6 days back of line. This is in CSC and this was in October 2009. I made sure I mailed out my K3 application the same day I got my I-130NOA 1 without wasting any time.

Ya, ours went out 3 days after the 130 NOA1, our "3 weeks" is the NOA1 129f date, not the day we mailed it off.

yep, things have sped up alot this year...

  2. NVC stated to me today that any communications in regard of the interview date it has to go through NVC and not directly to the Embassy?????

Thats true. But you arent asking them to schedule a date for you via email, you are just asking IF they ever do expedites...thats why i suggested it. They are very patient in answering general questions.

  4. Amman is very helpful via email. You can always email them and ask if they ever take expedite requests from NVC for CR1 scheduling. They'll answer you in a few days.

oh, I just found it by visiting their site:

Appointments at Embassy Amman are given on a first come, first serve basis. Due to the heavy demand for appointments and the volume of requests to reschedule, the embassy does not have the capacity to accommodate such requests for earlier appointments

    http://jordan.usembassy.gov/iv_frequently_..._questions.html

It looks like your chances are slim on an earlier appointment. good luck though, it wont hurt to have your USC spouse email them.

  5. In some countries, the K3 is still a little (2-4 weeks) faster than the CR-1- in many countries, it is not. However, considering how long you wait overall (6-8 months), this really isn't that long, and you trade in the slightly shorter waiting time of being together for alot of hassle, time wasting and money when you get to the USA as you cannot work immediately, have to file AOS etc. So I agree with the majority on this site in saying the K3 is obsolete.

Oh, ok. So the difference is that the K3 is sometimes, but not always quicker but then you have more hassle upon arrival by not being able to work immediately and you have to file AOS, etc. But with the CR1 it 'might' take longer to get the visa but then when you arrive stateside you can work immediately and don't have to file AOS. Am I correct?

    yep, you got it.

as far as the quotes you have up there...they are taken out of context. You have filed for both IF you filed the 129f after the 130. A k3 petition is TWO seperate forms, the 130 first, followed by the 129f(with the 130's NOA1 attached). At that point you have petitioned for both the cr1 and the k3

    to the OP,

Last year when the k3's were running 2-3 months behind CR1's at USCIS, I would say dont even bother..but that changed earlier this year and they picked up the pace for K3's.

I always say to check your consulate scheduling times. Some consulates schedule the K visas a month or so earlier than CR/IR1's. The K3 and CR1's are processing in the same amount of time now at USCIS, but you use the date of your 129f not your 130.

example: So you can start on say.. the first of Nov with the 130 but when you send in the 129f(mid Nov after you get the NOA1 for the 130)...the 130 is taken out of its place in line for adjudication and put in the back with the mid/late Nov date(by the time you get your NOA1 for the 129f K3). make sense?

The key in deciding if time is your only concern all lies in your consulate...thats what could save you anywhere from 4-6 weeks.

  6. Amanda,

that sounds great! Maybe the backgroud check is still out and she wants to make sure you arent an axe murderer before calling :P Good Luck on that! You will be much more peaceful once you get out of that crazy office.

great for Raad! did he drive back home or is this completely new to him?

Thanks Lisa...I'm ready to get out of this crazy place too!

Raad didn't have a license in Jordan, but he did drive a lot anyway so it isn't completely new to him.....but I still have to remind him a lot that we aren't in Jordan and we don't have to drive like the car is on fire!

 well at least its not like learning from scratch.

True...yet I am not looking forward to trying to teach him how to paralell park & the three point turn. I am hoping my Dad will show him! :)

lol the first time Y drove after he got the permit he tried a turnabout(3 point turn).. I was like, um...you ready for this? he wasnt...we'll just leave it at that :P

He's getting much more comfortable now. He had never driven before so everything is new, and I have a big car which he is not used to either and not to mention our narrow nieghborhood streets. I learned in Cali where all the streets are wider and there werent any one ways, much easier there!

    :waves at Jackie:

  8. Did anyone get family members to write a letter stating that they are aware of their relationship and can't wait for the happy couple to be together in the US? I was wondering if it would help to take such a letter to the interview or if it would look silly. If it will help I'll do it, but if it will just make me look like an overgrown child with a field-trip permission slip from mommy then I'd rather not.

we sent those with the k3 packet, so the CO had already saw them before they interviewed... weather they actually looked or not, I dont know.

  9. echoing what Len said, she cannot FORCE you to do anything, but it sounds like she has a pretty strong manipulitive hold on you.

Anyone who threatens suicide if you dont marry them needs some serious therapy to get anywhere near having a healthy relationship.

Decide what you want to do with the marriage and then you can look at your options for the interview.

start documenting what she says with dates and times... if she is threatening to say you abused her, start writing that down..like NOW. this may be your only defense if she tries to play dirty.

    good luck.

  10. So would it be safe to assume that Thu and I are in big trouble because of the way we met through the matchmaking agency? Wow that would really suck. I was thinking of waiting another 1-2 years to really develop my relationship with Thu before filing the I-129F but it appears that even if I wait 10 years, the fact that we FIRST met at that matchmaking agency will always haunt us. No girl has ever liked me the way Thu does. I have to admit, I am feeling a bit deflated right now :(

    <CARRICK>

If you have a lot of visits and show a long ongoing relationship, it will prove ALOT in the eyes of the CO.

A marriage broker(with a rep)+short courtship followed by sumbitting the 129f=potential red flag

a marriage broker+long courtship with lots of ongoing communication and visits=better case....well, thats if I was the CO :P

dont write it off and get depressed just yet (F)

  11. olivia,

im so sorry that you are still f'ing waiting. (F)

    kenza, thats awesome. :D

sharifah, the time is flying! soon you will be posting "my husband is coming home on_____"

    jackie,

    whats your countdown now hun?

i hope everybody had a good weekend. J and I went thrift store shopping while yazied was working and i scored a 1948 globe for 2.50! I (L) old globes, well new ones too..what can i say, im a dork like that  nothing else too exciting to report. how's everyone's fall going? is it cooling down where you guys are?

  12. Guess I should share my news too. Nothing in the mail yet, but in my online bank statement, my check has cleared. So the I130 has started to process I guess! The long journey has begun again!

cool! If you can see the check image online, you can get your receipt number off the back(if its clear) and use it to make your account on USCIS.

  13. So tried to approach the subject, maybe I used a poor choice of words, but at the end she said something along the lines of "I feel guilty for not being able to work"

Well if you feel guilty about not working, the way to feel less guilty is to do more around the house.

    **blank stare**

Ok, so I holding back bedroom privileges until some things around the house get done. Let's see if she notices.

Did you actually say that? If you said it in a nice way, she should have gotten the message, because it actually makes sense. That is the one thing that would make me feel better if I was in her shoes.

I hope you guys sort it out quickly. I hope you really arent withholding anything from her...that might only breed resentment for you both. (F)
