Severe financial loss. My USC spouse is not working and I received a job offer. To ensure success, write a letter of hardship. I said I would lose $200K and provided proof (job offer + bonuses + rent + vet bills and surgery for care of senior dog). A lot of people just use job offer but I recommend after getting advice from the caseworker to ensure success that you have to make a case to prove severe financial loss.

Tons of jobs out there. I recommend all if you can get an offer, create a convincing letter of hardship before submitting.

I wrote a post to help others:

Thank you Chance! Congratulations once again!

im still waiting on my biometrics so Ill expedite after thdt!

    Update:

    • EAD approved Oct 29, 2021 after expedite help with congressional support
    • AP was approved Oct 29, 2021 as well without expedite. I received a separate “Standalone AOS approval email this morning”. I think they approved the AP as well as both of my I-765 and I-131 is in the NBC. I was pleasantly surprised.

Congratulations! What reason you provided for ead expedite?

Did anyone of you who received RFE for the copy of your birth certificates, you've already sent with original package, and who just resubmitted the same copies already received any answer from USCIS?

Trying to find a deep meaning of them asking for the same documents, which were in the package and scanned in online documents by them...

I did. I uploaded birth certificate on my online account and I got medical deficiency after 2-3 weeks. So im guessing they reviewed the certificate and issued the deficiency notice

    Morning Guys !
Just a few questions moving ahead with our AOS process

What happens after our biometrics appointment?
I believe we will have another set of interview for the green card right,

What about work-permit (I-765) will that also have an interview or does it get approved or denied first, then green card application process will start ?
Just wondering what will be the process after biometrics is given.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    TIA

Next step is EAD/AP approval. Just wait on that. If you want you can expedite that as well based on financial or humanitarian basis. Sometimes uscis dont give ead and straight send the application to interview phase.

    Hello Guys

    so here’s my updates:

    AOS Process:

    NOA1 Notice on July 24 -3 NOA1s

Biometrics appointment- Aug 21 received notice appointment scheduled on Sept-16

RFE Notice received on Sept-14 asking birth certificate

Finished my biometrics appointment today and it was super seamless process- It was done in like 10 min.

I had an issue with a typographical error in my first name but they said I will have to call the customer service to address that before they issue the card.

Does anyone know the customer service number to talk an actual live agent and was successful in doing so ???

Now both the case status -(I-485 & I-765) says

“ Case is being actively Reviewed By USCIS”

But the Form- I-131 Application to travel document is the same , didn’t change.

    Great congratulations! Whats your FO?

I have just received an email notification ref. an RFE for my birth certificate and the same for my husband (or his passport bio page). These documents were supplied to USCIS with our package so I guess they must have got lost when they opened up the package/at the scanning in process. The digital version of the letter I received says, "You must either mail the requested information to the address shown below or scan and upload your response using your USCIS online account (if applicable)"

...so I guess I'll upload a digital copy of my birth certificate etc.

Is there anything specific I need to be aware of when doing this? I've written a cover letter addressing the RFE, it says that I should supply the RFE itself so I guess I need to upload the RFE PDF, my cover letter and my birth certificate etc. in the response.

That is correct. I got the same rfe. I combined actual rfe, cover letter and actual birth certificate in one PDF file and uploaded to my uscis account.
you should be good doing this.

did you receive your biometrics appointment yet?

Thanks for letting us know. I have not checked my USCIS online account for a week as I thought I would get an email if there is any new document in my account. After I received your notification just now, I logged in to my USCIS account and found out that I had my Biometrics appointment scheduled on Sept 17th as well LOL. The document was sent yesterday. It turns out that VJ is a better notification than USCIS lol. Thanks again! 😂

Congratulations you guys! Is this biometrics appointment under i485 application or i765/131?

I also noticed in their uploads that I am missing many documents that I submitted. I am not worried though. I have an exact replica of my filing and evidence at home that I will bring to the interview. I just hope they do not delay my case and issue an RFE due to their mistake in not uploading everything.

Yeah true. Did you get your bio appointment yet?

FYI I had the same issue and was patiently waiting for something that never came in the mail. You can send them an email via your account about “unlocking your draft account” by asking for “online access codes” that never came in the mail. I sent the email last night and just received it now. My receipt date was July 16th and today is August 12th so it is close to the 30 day mark that they require before contacting them.

    Sounds good. Thanks

My fiance and I have decided after him staying here for 3 months that we are going to have him stay and file for AOS instead of pursuing the K1 route. He has a car he owns free and clear in Canada. I know of the paperwork required to have someone bring the vehicle across the border but what are all of our options for doing so and will any of them cause issues.

Option 1: I fly to Canada and drive the car back provided the border opens.

Option 2: His friend drives his car down when he comes for the wedding.

Option 3: Hire a company to ship the car.

What is the best option that won't cause any hiccups or red flags? Thanks in advance.

I shipped it from Canada and did the AOS. You are allowed to keep Canadian car within US for over a year. So you have couple options, sell the car within US in a year OR being back car to Canada after a year and bring back car again to US either by shipping or driving it (hopefully borders are open by then)

I personally find shipping better as all the headache is on shipping company. It took 2500$ CAD for shipping from Toronto to California.
    hope this helps!
