here's the recap for this week! sorry the image is such poor quality today - VJ wasn't letting me upload as usual. i think if you click on it, it'll zoom and be a bit better (maybe).

one less working day bc of Memorial Day, but they still looked at about 70 cases a day which is decent. October is also finally under the 50% pending mark!

some weird things to note: Oct-20 was relatively untouched this week and Oct-23 was completely skipped. not sure what's happening there since they've even looked at end of the month filers. hopefully, they'll look at those 2 dates next week in addition to the end of the month.

based on what we saw with September filers, USCIS will move their focus onto November filers soon, and leftover October progress will slow. guessing we've got a few weeks until that happens though!

Thanks again for the update. So we got a new week ahead with new progress coming up and I am keeping faith that it will be a good week 😊

sorry for the delayed post! was out of town this weekend, but finally got round to updating last week's numbers.

overall, it was a really really good week in terms of progress: avg. 93 cases processed per day compared to only 59 the previous week. not quite double, but i'll take it lol. plus, october approved cases are nearly at 1/4 now (more than RFEs which were previously pretty even)

Thank you so much for the update, you have no idea how much this mean to me to just stay focused and positive.

    Again thank you ***

Your guess is as good as mine lol! I think based on what we've seen, they're mostly going in order of receipt date and not case #, so I'd guess the week after next is when we'll start seeing some movement for Oct-30? Next week is a shortened week bc of Memorial Day, so I don't know how many they'll actually be able to get through. Hang in there, it's coming up soon!!

Sheesh, I don't want to "Adult" anymore this is too much stress lol Keeping fingers crossed for all of us that filed in October to get feedback soon. Again thank you very much for the updates you post, these conversations, feedback and updates keeps me from losing it all together.

We we are all approved and finally in the US with our fiance it would call for a big get together and just celebrate lol

Pretty normal. they have been changing it every month. I think when i filed it was 9-13 months. then it went to 6-8 and 5-7 and now back to 6-8 months. Also with summer approaching, im sure everyone will be trying to take a vacation.

Oh my goodness 😔 How does one survive this waiting game. I am keeping my hopes up that the time does not get stretched out any further for all of our sakes, because we all have to deal with the same frustration. I swear it feels like someone is gambling with my life lol 🙈

No, not at all - venting, I've come to realise is too much a part of the process, as is the anxiety of it all. I'm relatively new, so we haven't hit peak calamity yet, but with the COVID situation in India, I'm not sure it is going to be much of a smooth ride. With regard to police certificates, I have come to understand that you don't need it for your time in the US (from our attorney) , just any other countries you have lived in since age 16. Maybe check with yours too?

I hope for you guys as well that things will start looking up as we wait. All one can have is hope*

And lol I will have my answer if our Attorney decides to one day respond to my emails.

Mine is pretty similar, for the same reason of delays. I have one in March and Jan 15th and have been using the earlier one for all calculations. If you have your I-797 (I hope you get through to your attorney!) it says received date is the one on which USCIS says it has been received. You should use October 30 - exciting! :)

Thank you 🙂, I really am praying for some good news soon, because 20 months without my fiancé is the worst part of my life. And for some reason my fiancé got told by our Attorney that our case will take about 2 more years after the almost 9 month wait for the approval. And I am absolutely baffled with why our Attorney would think that, perhaps back in October 2020 the process looked that it might take much longer, but a lot has changed since then.

You guys on here have been my got to for information and some relief, because my Fiancé is currently having a really rough time with work as covid has thrown everything upside down and struggling with Anxiety and depression right now is making matters really hard especially if you have been told that you will only get to start your life with your fiance in +/- 3 years. This is why I tried to speak with our Attorney directly to get some answers instead of constantly asking my fiancé, but with no luck. All i got was "I will be in touch with you once the case gets approved and sent to the consulate in SA.

Frustrating and making my blood boil, because I know I am only the benificiary in this case, but I just want to know what documents I can get ready in the meantime to eliminate extra waiting time, because we all know things might take longer nowadays with covid.

And the most important question I had was in regards with Police Clearances, because I was in the US for 3 years and lived in 4 different states over that period. Perhaps someone here will know if I would need 4 separate clearances for each state and how I should go to work?, because I am not even sure how long of a wait that will be.

I am just holding onto hope over here that soon we will get feedback from USCIS in order to have some sort of a timeline and not be in limbo.

    Sorry for venting 🙈

I think it means 'received date' as indicated on your USCIS and in your NoA1. That is the one it is being backdated to from your notice date. By 'received date' for your case, do you mean your notice date? I don't seem to have a separate 'received date'.

Below is the online case status and the other one is when I log into USCIS, so that is where I got confused with what date is actually being honored. I am not sure what date is reflecting on the actual I-797 because our Attorney is not reaponding to my emails 🙄

I think you're right about it going by Received Date, because there was a tiny bit of movement in the later case numbers last week, but I think it's bc those cases had Received Dates in early October!

You think it goes by received date and not receipt date? Since my case has the 30th October receipt date, but they only received the case by 25 January 2021. 😔 Does this mean I am perhaps going to be in a much longer waiting period than expected, lile beyond the November-December cases even? 😢

I am not sure if you have access to the receipt # that USCIS issued but you can always query that receipt # on the USCIS website under "case status."  See my below screenshot of my case status online (date and case # erased)  Red = where the case # is, Green = where the receipt date and where the clock starts is.  So even if you do not have the form I-797, you can at least see your true receipt date, rather than the date they created the case. (at that time a few months later than receipt)  You all also get to see why I am in IT rather than a mouse drawing artist.

Just small advice, you need to remind the attorney that they work for you, not the other way around. I don't mean to sound harsh, it's only that I've seen this situation before. Main thing is to be on top them. Best of luck to you and your fiance 🙌

Thank you, my fiance is also struggling to ge feedback from the Attorney since the beggining even, but my fiance has other stress related issues happening right now so I am trying to have direct contact with the Attorney instead of constantly via my fiance. I am trying to stay on it.

What date did they put on your NOA-1? It should have been backdated to when they received the case...probably sometime in November? Also you are 6 months into the process.

I am not sure :(as I am the beneficiary and our Attorney does not respond to my emails only that he will get back to me when the time comes, very frustrating situation, because I would like to get as much paperwork ready on my side except for the medical exam and police clearance, but hearing that we are 6 months in the process feels like a relief, thank you very much.

I will try and find out what the backdated date is on our NOA1, since we are 6 months in would we be able to follow up on our case once the 10/30/2020 is before the receipt date for case inquiry or will that be where the date comes to play on our NOA1?

  13. Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are doing good and at least coping better than me in regards with waiting for an update from the USCIS.

I am new to this group and reading the comments on here made me feel a little bit hopeful.

Do you guys think that the October filers have a good chance to receive feedback during May 2021?

I also have a question regarding the receipt date. Our application was filed on the 30th of October 2020 but and received an online reciept notice with our case number, but the USCIS only received our documents physically on 25 January 2021.

I am however confused as to which date the USCIS will honor in order for us to know if we are 6 months into the process or only 3 months. I hope that someone would be able to put my mind at ease on this situation.

    Thank you.
