  1. When we were approved, we got mixed up in the whole May not sending NOA2's out issue. I waited 30 days, then called. The lady on the help line sucked and said they would submit an inquiry and I may have to pay several hundred dollars to get another one. So then I used the RFE trick, got through to Cali and the lady resent the NOA2 free of charge. She even called back to make sure I got the NOA2. Just make sure you get it, you need it for AOS and they will charge you $$ if you have to get another one sent.

I am curious...what is the "RFE trick?"

  2. I am one of the 4 who currently have reported that we speak our SO's language (for me that means spanish)! I was living in Chile when we met and at that time his English was pretty darn basic. We still communicate in spanish, but his english is definitely getting better and the best is that he is motivated to learn!!

Oh...and the crazy flavors of Ben and Jerry's definitely rules

  3. 33 days and still waiting for any sign of movement from CSC....I never thought that my biggest wish for my birthday would be that the government would deposit a check worth $455....and yet that is how I spent most of the day! Who would have thunk it? wanting the government to take money from me.....what a silly worl we live in!

Good luck to everyone! Much love

  4. All I can tell you is that my K1 was received at CSC on Sept 6th (So I have got to be considered one of the "early setember filers?" right?? Nothing has happened as of yet....but if the 31 day average is right I should see some movement during hte next week...I will be sure to keep everyone up to date! I am sure it will give us all a sense of hope...

Hang in there everyone! We will make it through this darn process

  5. Hey Everyone!

First post here. I-129F sent to CSC Sept 5 and was received on Sept 6. No news as of yet...NOA1 or depositing the check.

For those of you who have already received the NOA1, and said you did so before the hard copy came in the mail, where were you checking? How did you do that!!?? I would love to know if they have begun to work on our application!

Thanks! And good luck to everyone....

Hey. Once your check gets cashed (keep checking your balance) get a copy of your check from the bank, and on the back of it will be a stamped reference number beginning with WAC (for CSC applicants). This is your personal case number and you can use it to trace the progress of your case via the USCIS website. This is what we did, and we got to find out the date of our NOA1 6 days before we got our hard copy in the mail.

    Good luck.

Also, if you have online access to your bank account, once the USCIS has cashed your check your bank will scan a copy into the system, so you'll be able to click on an icon next to the item on the statement to see the copy of the back with the receipt number starting with WAC. then go to this website to register to check the staus online: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/selectuser...yCOPjZWewr3H0ur

Thanks for the great advice. I guess I just have to wait for the check to be cashed....kinda bums me out that it hasn't happene yet. But I guess that is just part of it, eh? Any one have an idea when too long is just too long to wait for an NOA1 and/or depositing the check? Is there an option for checking in and seeing if everything is alright? We are at about 18 days right now.....

    Good luck to everyone!
