  1. I am so happy to see this thread! I have seen so few Chileans on the boards and have wondered where to go to get info about the Santiago Embassy. Especially now that we are dealing stricktly with the embassy!

So our deal is that we sent in packet 3 two weeks ago tomorrow and are waiting for packet 4 to arrive in the mail. We are holding our breaths that it shows up. But I really have no idea how long it "should" take. Any ideas??? Sounds like it did not make it to your fiance solamanecer. We have been discussing how long to wait before calling/emailing, whatever. I have now heard a couple different stories of people having to wait a long time for packet 4 and things going wrong. Any ideas??

How far out did they schedule his interview Solamancer??

I will definitely keep you guys updated on how it goes

    Mo

  2. IgorElin, Mox, Bablesgirl and all experts here: I need some advice from you as I am preparing for final interview and packet 4.

    1. Should I send the original approval notice to my fiancee? Attorney sent me and her scanned copy of the original approval notice. My attorney is saying print out of that scanned copy is fine.

    2. How old can the passport size pictures of her be in packet 3/4. She took some few pictures couple of months ago and wants to send the same pictures in packet 3 and packet 4. Is that OK? I am making sure consulate doesn't reject her pictures because it's not in few weeks.

As always, greatly appreciate your help,

    1. Don't send the original approval notice. You will need that to file for AOS when the time comes.

    2. As long as she hasn't changed her look much those pictures should be fine.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was kind of surprised to read that one should NOT send the original NOA2. I have only heard that it is absolutely necessary to have the NOA2 at the interview. What am I missing?

Thanks....and congrats to everyone as this process continues to develop

  3. Thought I would let you all know that I just called NVC and they had received our case earlier today. It is funny because I never once called CSC during the 5 months our case was there, but someone my curiousity won me over quickly this tiem. Anyways, I thought the news woudl give hope to other filers!

Anyone know if you can track the case now that it is at NVC but before it goes to DHL? What is the best way to know that it has left NVC (without having to call every day!)

  4. Something like this:

    -------------------------------

    DATE

    To Whom It May Concern:

This letter certifies that JOHN DOE has been employed full time by Acme Widget Company since DATE as a Widget Assembler. His annual salary is $XX,000 per year.

If you require further information, please contact me at PHONE NUMBER.

    Sincerely,

    HR Person

    Contact info

    -------------------------------

Hope that helps! Make sure it's on company letterhead (preferably not computer generated letterhead unless it's of really high quality, and make sure it's a real signature.)

Should the letter come from an HR person or from your supervisor? I guess I have always assumed that it should come from the supervisor...and well, since my company has a weird set up with the HR department (basically, HR/Finance/IT is a separate agency) it might be confusing for the letter to come from them when their letterhead, company name, etc are all differant than my agency. Thoughts?

  5. I know I have been absent from the boards for a bit trying to be patient and hoping that the process works itself out. Just wanted to let you know that late today I checked my case status and saw that we had been touched for the first time on Feb 3 (yep, a sunday) and then later tonight it now says we were touched on Feb 4. Hope it means that good things are to come!!

Take care everyone and keep strong!

  6. Well guys and gals, I am APPROVED!!!:dance::dance:

    Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On January 9, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

    Woo HOO!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! THat is great, Bobalouie. Lets hope the next steps go quickly for you

  7. Looks like we have a very anti-climactic but welcome conclusion to our September filers contest, and Mo Mati wins it. Azmina & Abdurrahman filed September 1, and were approved today by VSC. Congratulations!!!!!!

Cookies have been mailed to your browser Mo Mati... :)

That is so funny....we never win ANYTHING! How darn exciting  Like I said earlier...there is always some lucky couple that goes early in the process.

The real question is when the first sept filer at CSC will be approved. Now THAT is a much more interesting question.

  8. Mo, click on Immigration Timelines at the top, and then "View K-1 Visas." Click on the arrow next to the NOA2 column to sort by the latest NOA2's received. That's how you can determine the latest NOA2's. If you want to only see specific service centers, go to the bototm of the page and choose the pulldown for service centers. For a correct total on CSC approvals make sure you look at Texas and Nebraska service centers too.

Thanks Mox for the clear explanation. That makes a lot more sense. but now I am wondering how you are able to see the actual sent date vs. the NOA1 date. I do not see that option (I am quite visual...and I just don't see it). So how do you know that the first "Actual August Filer" was approved? Thanks!

  9. Quick question: How do we know that august filers are getting their NOA2's from CSC already? I just did a timeline search and it says that no august filers have the NOA2's yet from the CSC. Are people not updating their timelines or what?

My guess is people are looking at the NOA1 date and not the date the SC received it. there have been 3 true august filers who have been approved at VSC, there are 36 July filers approved and of those some probably have an NOA1 date in August and that is what people are seeing and reporting August approvals. But like I said before, the only true Aug filers have been done at VSC and there are only 3 of them so far.

Okay, I got to say that I am still confused about how people keep so up to date about who has been approved. Can someone let me know how they figure out the weekly totals? I saw it posted in another thread that someone checks the Timelines and then checks "Recent Approvals" for K-1...but I could not see anything called "Recent Approvals". What is the deal?

  10. The contestants so far:

    Jan 7 mox

    Jan 10 EricC

    Jan 11 Daly

    Jan 13 TheATeam

    Jan 17 Brian & Kathy

    Jan 18 Bobalouie

    Jan 23 kennyandhandan

    Jan 28 Norman and Dijani

    Jan 31 chuck_n_rose

    Did I miss anyone?

geostefan, Brian & Kathy already have the 17th.

TracyOz, your day is filled too. Try again!

Which brings us to another situation, what if there are more than 31 players? I guess if that happens then we'll open up duplicate days. You won't have to share the cookie, we'll make more. :)

We'll take Jan 15 ........ but wouldn't be complaining if it was earlier!

got ya on the calendar!

We discussed it and decided that we are going to be very hopefully and put the 4th of January down! Lets go CSC!!!

  11. It sounds so good to hear everyone so positive! The christmas season must has gotten into into eveyrone....and on top of that I think we are all realizing that our turn is coming just around the corner. I know that for me I am not happy to spend another holiday season away from my fiance, and yet I have to believe that these weeks will pass quickly and soon enough we will be in January! That is definitely a blessing.

For those of you who get to visit your SO for the holidays...enjoy it! i will try not to be envious, esecially since I just got back from Chile a week ago.

And for those of you buying wedding dresses ;) that is awesome! How fun. I know that I was super excited the day that I bought my dresses and since then has decided no matter when this visa comes through we can get married--cause I already have the dress! haha

  12. Hey Guys-

Long time no write! I was out of the country visiting my fiance but am now back to the same old waiting game. Anyways, the weirdest thing happened. After about a week or no internet access I checked my online case status and found that my case had been Touched on the 15th. So that was kinda weird. Not quite sure what that was about. Just thought you all might be interested, especially if anyone else had a similar situation.

Take care and keep up the patience :)

  13. hey guys... were new here

anyways.. we sent our K1 docs at CSC last September 5. They received it September 6.

We got our receipt case number just this week (through the hotline operators), we checked our case status online and it says that they received our papers November 2. whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!! its stated in the uscis website that they will honor the exact date that the k1 was received in their mail room. now why is it November 2? we called the customer service again and theyre saying that whats posted in the site is wrong!

can't believe these people.. but oh well, at least we have a case number... something to look forward too.

now waiting for the hard copy and for the check to be encashed.

good luck and god bless us all!

I have a very similar timeline. My package was received on Sept 6 at CSC, and cash was checked on Nov 2. When I signed online it said the same thing. But when my NOA1 Hardcopy arrived it showed the correct receive date. So no worries. It should be fine. No worries!

Congrats to all those with NOA1 and NOA2! That is crazy....Nice to know the ball is rolling for Sept Filers!

  14. Just got my hard copy NOA1 today. Received date is September 13.

Anything yet Eric? (or anyone else?) Really hoping things will start taking off for September filers now!

This journey has such ups and downs. I still have not seen our NOA1 in the mail....and now knowing that you got yours I get nervous wondering why it hasn't shown up. I am sure it will come soon...it is just ridiculous us and downs.

Good luck everyone. I am sure your NOA1's will be coming soon! Keep the faith.... :innocent:

  15. You won't believe it! Or at least...I still don't! I checked my bank account online this morning and found that our check had been cashed yesterday Nov. 2!! I am still kinda shell-shocked after having become resigned to the fact that we were going to have to be THAT couple who just wasn't going to hear anything for a LOOOONNNG time. Holy Cow!

Question for those who have used the USICS site to sign up to get info about your case. When you first signed on did it say "On 'such and such date' we received this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)" But, that date was more like the date they possibly opened the package, not the date that it was received through the mail? I am just curious cause the date on mine said Oct 30, 2007....when I know my petition arrived Sept 6, 2007. Any ideas?? I am sure when the NOA1 Hardcopy comes in the mail my fear that they are using the wrong date as the received date will be quelled...just wondering what your guys' experience has been like

Oh...and other update...I did email the CSC the other date and received an email basically saying that they do not take inquiries from the public through email. Which kinda bummed me out. Now I wonder if it somehow did have an effect since my check was cashed a day or two later. Thoughts? Anyone else have a similar experience????

Have a great day, everyone! I am hoping to see everyone getting there NOA1's soon!

  16. Welcome to the group. To all the September filers, I believe I was one of the earliest filers for the month. I mailed the petition on 9/4, and it was delivered to CSC on 9/6. 47 days by now, and according to all the world wisdom, I should have got my NOA1. Nut no NOA1, no cashed check. It is as if all the September files were left in a storage room and forgotten. Hopeless and helpless...Sigh!

Thanks for posting, wind, glad to hear from someone who filed so close to the beginning of the month. I agree with you, it's as if they set aside our files and just moved on to October. But while I'm frustrated and a bit anxious, I am at least hopeful that there's a rational explanation for this, and that we'll still be processed in the order we were received. It could be that they streamlined some internal process at the end of September, and we're just kinda "kinks" in the system that they'll eventually work out. Sure would be nice if they'd provide some transparency to ease our mind, but that's a whole 'nuther ball 'o wax.

I still am recommending that September filers who haven't received NOA1 yet send an email to the CIS ombudsman. You can read my original post here. I think the sooner this is done, and the more filers that do it, the greater the pressure we can put on USCIS to sit up and take notice that there are a lot of filers who are sitting in limbo, wondering if their petitions have even been received.

Wind, I am with you. My petition was also received on Sept 6 in California, and nothing! I think we are some of the first, so hopefully if we see something change in the next few days so will the rest of the Sept. Filers. And Mox....I emailed them last night. Lets see if we can get some more people emailing and see if we can get this ball rolling!

  17. I am SO excited right now!

We just got our NOA2 today!!!

    Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I said it in the other forum and I will say it again, CONGRATULATIONS! I am so hapy for you guys. I can only imagine that you are walking on cloud nine. Keep up the good work and I hope that we all start seeing some faster processing times than expected! Come on CSC! (and if that wasn't clear enough....nope, no word on the NOA1)
