A waiver is not required after a specific ban has expired.

Thank you! I was the one who filled out his ds-260 cause he was at work at the time and I did not know he had overstayed so I put no on the form when that question was asked. I asked NVC if they could reopen it when we realized the mistake so I could change it but they said they couldn't. Will that be a problem? What should I do?

Yes a I-601 Waiver for Unlawful Presence will be required since you are subject to the 10 year bar for having accrued more than one year of unlawful presence and you have been out only 7.5 years.

Make certain when they give you the Refusal Letter at the interview it clearly states that you qualify for an I-601 .
in the meantime prepare the Waiver Supporting Documentation so that your USC spouse can  file it as soon as you get the Refusal Letter.

So if it's been more than 10 years you don't need the waiver? My dad overstayed for 2 years but it has been 12 years since he's been back in his country. Will he need to do the waiver?

Can you please share the source that from November 1st it is also required for traveling purpose?

Here's the press release straight from the White House website. You can also search this information through Google and you'll find multiple reliable websites with articles confirming this:

    https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings/2021/09/20/press-briefing-by-press-secretary-jen-psaki-september-20-2021/

The press briefing may be long so just control F and search for "vaccinated".

Thank you. Does anyone know if China vaccine is considered or need US approved vaccines?

The CDC requires the COVID-19 vaccine to be approved through either the World Health Organization (WHO) or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Here's a website that shows the current list of all WHO Approved vaccines:

    https://covid19.trackvaccines.org/agency/who/

It also provides a link to the specific WHO page that verifies it's approval.

    Thanks for this clarification.

just a quick question on DQ date. My parents DQ was in September 2020, so which DQ is getting their interviews from this month September 20th? I am mean which DQ date is current one who’s is waiting for their interview?

I'm not really sure where they're at for IR5 cases but I know for IR1/IR2, they're at September 2020 and for F1-F4 they're at March 2020. It's possible they're at September for IR5 too but don't qoute me on it as I'm not sure.

What I can’t understand is how the US embassy in Kingston can state on two separate occasions that they’ve instructed nvc to schedule appointments for October and November yet the NVC is saying they haven’t heard anything from Kingston for new cases except expedites. That makes no sense. It was said on the radio and in the news paper. Who’s fibbing? Or who is failing to communicate? I just don’t get it

This is purely speculation but I think what happens is that the NVC sends out interview letters at the end of the month for interviews in the next month. So for example people who would have interviews in October, would get their interview letters around September 20. The agents who answer calls at NVC only have information for the month they're in. So since no interviews were done for September, that's probably why they telling us only expedites. Fingers crossed by the month's end, we will see people getting letters and they will start letting people who call know that the embassy is working.

They also have a Live chat tomorrow at 9:30 AM so we can hear what they have to say then as well. But they've said on two separate occasions that the embassy will do interviews in October so hopefully by September 20, 2021 the letters start rolling out.

Hi, it looks like it's from the NVC.

I did not, may I ask how I can request it to be expedited?  That would be ideal!

    Thank you!

NVC usually sends that cancelation email when they're moving ur case to the embassy and that embassy would then schedule your interview. I would suggest calling them to confirm why it was done because they usually only do this when an expedite is approved.

    Good Morning!

I am a U.S. Citizen and our case for marriage green card became documentary qualified on August 31, 2021 with our interview at the U.S. embassy in Kingston Jamaica (husband resides currently in Grand Cayman.  Brazilian national).  We were anticipating a lengthy wait until receiving anything, but received the below email on September 1, 2021:

We previously notified you of the date and time of your immigrant visa interview at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in Kingston, JAM.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to cancel this interview.  We will schedule a new interview appointment as soon as possible and notify you of the date and time.  There is no need for you to take action at this time.

Due to us only being qualified a day prior, we were never notified of a date and time for an interview.

Is this a normal glitch in their system or does this sound like they are trying to expedite our interview quickly?

    Thank you!

Did you get this email from the embassy or from NVC? Also, did you request that your case be expedited?

No I didn't get any yet. Was suppose to get it last Friday but I wasn't feeling well so I had to postpone it for another time. Going to take it soon tho

I would suggest you get it very soon because now that they start up again, you will be one of the first to get interview since your dq is March 2020. Don't forget to tell us when u get ur interview letter 😊

Any lucky person in Jamaica 🇯🇲 received any dates for interview yet? If yes, what category and date?

    My frustration has peaked 😐

Jamaica was only handling cancelled interviews and expedites. This Wednesday on Nationwide news, they said they've started accepting new cases from NVC and those people will get interviews in October and November. As far as I'm aware, they're currently at March 2020 DQ dates for  F Categories and September 2020 for IR categories.

  11. So in their live today, the embassy said they are finally done with rescheduling cancelled interviews from the last year and a half. They said anyone who was cancelled and has not been contacted by the end of August should call them. They also said they don't know when they will be able to start taking cases from the NVC. But with the fact that they are finished rescheduling cancelled interviews, I'd say by the end of September or October, they'll start taking new cases.
