Approved! Marriage based AOS from E3, self-prepared, concurrent filed 130/130A/485/131/765/864 (944 submitted but disregarded)
 
My timeline:
Married: 11/4/2020
Submission Received: 3/11/2021
NOA: 4/6/2021
Biometrics: 8/17/2021
EAD/AP Card Received: 10/23/2021
Interview 2/11/2022
Approved: 3/7/2022 --> waiting to receive GC in the mail.
 
The only thing I should have done differently is to submit I-693 with the initial filing, especially considering its long validity now.

Hi friends, a little update from Mike & Heidi.
 
We travelled to South Africa over Christmas and New Years in spite of the Omicron restrictions, which were lifted while we were gone. We had no trouble boarding our flight to the US from Capetown, nor did we have any difficulty at the POE at Newark NJ. We spent a long time in line waiting for CBP at Newark, but that was just due to the amount of people already there when we landed. When we walked up to the desk at our turn the officer took passports and paperwork, then asked why Heidi had AP. Heidi was confused by the question and answered "to see my family." He then re-iterated the question, essentially leading on that she needed to give a better answer. After some hinting Heidi answered that she had received the card while waiting for her LPR application which the officer then said was fine, and told her "these are the kinds of questions they will ask."
Heidi was then taken to a waiting area separate from Mike, and waited for a half hour while Mike forwarded bags on to the next connecting flight. After the wait, an officer returned her paperwork with no questions and the travels continued.
 
Now the wait is on for an interview appointment.

The combo card arrived 01NOV21, and we have our flights to South Africa booked! Much easier to patiently wait for the interview with the combo card on hand.

26OCT21 - Status for I-765 updated to "New card is being produced."

Hello everyone,
Applied for my AOS on 31 March.
NOA received: 4/25.
Biometrics appointment letter received today: 6/26.Says I have a Biometrics in 2 weeks.

Yeah but it changed just days before you submitted. I certainly wouldn't be rechecking the site before sending if I already had downloaded the forms and everything. 🤷 I assume it's no big deal. Except for the bummer of filling it out. 😂

I can't see it being attached as being a bad thing. And we were already preparing for an RFE on degree equivalency, and that should no longer be an issue. Woohoo!

My wife and I mailed our packet in on 12-MAR-21 and are now awaiting NOA1. We definitely felt the pressure getting our packet out and going for zero mistakes, but time will tell.
 
Our packet did have I-944... I need to do some reading now I guess, because I thought that it was required.
