  1. OK - FINALLY, my final update on this thread...

It's been a while, but just wanted to let you guys know that 29 months and 10 days after filing, I became a U.S. Citizen on sep-28th 2022 !!!

    Holy H*ll was that a wait !

It will never stop haunting me to know what happened. Maybe I should get a job at the USCIS - VERY clearly they get paid doing absolutely nothing.

Anyways, hope I was the last one on this thread to get this done... happy thanksgiving, all !

  2. Still in the process here.

Congressman has been trying to help for over a year, ombudsman turned out to be a dead end.

Congressman has been able to squeeze a timeline (latest date they will get back to me), TWICE,  from the USCIS - both of which the USCIS has failed to deliver on without any info or explanation.

At this point this whole process is not even a joke anymore.

Do you guys know if the FOIA filing will speed up or delay the process ?

Likely wouldn't do any good for the processing of his case since he already had his interview, there's something else holding up his case. Maybe the FOIA would give some answers as to what the hold-up is, don't know.

    Yea, I think so too...

I will wait till e/o July, if nothing has happened, will sue the USCIS.

What a disgusting failure of a system.

btw, today is the anniversary of my interview...

  4. Yesterday was my 2nd anniversary from filing... May 5th will be the first anniversary from the interview, and may 8th is the first anniversary from responding to the RFI...

Case has been "actively reviewed" since Sep 17th 2021.

Needless to say what I think of this all.

Congrats to everyone who has been able to get through the process - and for those of us STILL waiting, keep the faith !

If you have the money, suing USCIS might be a good idea at this point. It's so frustrating that it comes to that or just keep waiting. Did you try the FOIA request? You're basically just waiting for the oath right?

Yea, it is beyond frustrating. Haven't tried the FOIA yet, I'll get that going right away.

I'm waiting for their decision - based on the interview everything is fine, and assuming the RFE response is sufficient it should only be the oath then. Unless they come up with something else.

  6. 22 months and counting. What a fantastic process !

    - Congressman very actively trying to help - no real results

    - zero help from the ombudsman

    - zero help from the senator

    - zero help from filing repetitive e-requests for case outside of normal processing times

    - zero help form emails through the uscis portal

    - zero help from calling the uscis weekly

the USCIS has now "actively reviewed" my RFE response for over 6 months - RFE response was submitted to them 2 days after my interview in early May of 2021 - So I'm soon coming up with anniversaries, 2 years from filing and 1 year from the interview. Hurray !

Guys I feel you all. I filled the application online in April 23 2020. Field office Oakland park Florida.  My case is way out of processing times. Two service requests. No results.  January bio reuse.  Like all of you they don’t get it but all my family is suffering because of this #######! While we were waiting my son turned 18 so had to file a separate application and pay extra money.  My daughter is a pro tennis player is stuck without documents for travel as she can’t make her russian and she can t make travel doc as it takes 11 month to get it, I’m loosing my inheritance in my country because again I don’t have any documents, my hockey son can’t play for us junior league as he is not a citizen yet. I call them all the time. I send them an expedite request and they requested proof which I did send them but no reply since. My next step next week is my congresswoman. I’m already thinking maybe I can just file a new application? As everyone here I know so many people that filed after us and are citizens already. Prayers for all of us waiting🙏🏻

@TatianaZ, so sorry for your struggles ! Hoping for a quick closure for you , and everyone else in this ridiculous mess.

Same thing here, filed april 17th 2020. Interview done in may 2021, RFE submitted and then... silence. Total ignorance.

Two service requests - no response.

Probably a good 20 emails through myUSCIS portal - No response.

Got in touch with the congressman, received a response, "we are looking to your case"... then nothing for months. Other than spam emails asking to sign this and sign that.

Recently moved and just wrote to the congressman in my new zip code, let's see what happens. Will open a case with the ombudsman tomorrow (thanks for the link! )

USCIS portal says "we are actively reviewing your case" since late august, and expected time for case completion 13 months... 13 months !!!

  8. Anyone else still stuck in the limbo ?

18 months and counting... Interview was in May 2021, RFE response submitted 3 days after the interview. This was over 5 months ago...

Also, does anyone know how to find the local ombudsman, and what exactly is the "service" you'd be asking them to provide ?

    Thanks in advance !

Hi, I just want to share some good news:

3/18/2021 - Interview and Oath Taking

    2/4/2021 - Interview Notice

    12/14/2020 - Biometrics Reuse Notice.
    04/26/202- Case was received.

So happy to finally be done with this journey.

    Los Angeles, CA.

    Congrats !

I have almost identical timeline, except the last two instances... Case received 4/18, Biometrics reuse notice on the same day (12/14) ... and then, nothing... Wrote to congressman - they responded immediately with a promise to help... nothing. Not from USCIS, nor the congressman. frustrating.

Try contacting your senators (or representative), they should have a "help with a federal agency" tab on their websites. Many of us have had success seeing movement after that, including myself.

Just wrote to my rep last week - and surprisingly - got an immediate response, requesting the case files, and promising to contact the USCIS on my behalf !

    Fingers crossed !
