Kev & Lexi got a reaction from Dylan Waters in Yes, you can visit!
I prepared a whole binder full of as much information as I could. I had bank info to show I could support the finances of my trip, a letter my grandmother signed, my health/travel insurance I purchased for my trip (end of trip date was included in this), my departure and return tickets, and also a copy of my I-129F petition.

Also it’s worth mentioning the officer was really not interested in any of this info. I think had I not provided satisfactory information about my fiancé and the circumstance of our meeting/our ongoing relationship, he wouldn’t have let me pass. He asked about my fiancé’s employment, address where I’ll be staying while in the US, how we met, the duration of my previous stay in the US, etc.

Hello! I made it to the US and back since this post. The officer allowed me to cross and I wasn’t taken in for secondary questioning or anything, but he did grill me a bit and I was answering questions for much longer than usual due to the visa being in process and such. I did not have strong ties as I stated, and he basically explained why what I provided wasn’t really strong. He was just doing his job. He asked me questions about my fiancé and our relationship and eventually allowed me to cross and was very clear with when I needed to be returning to Canada. That was just my experience. I also want to mention I had a return ticket ready to show him when he asked for it so make sure you have that in case!

We did. I believe it’s just a generic email they send everyone once they’ve had the case in their possession for 60 days. According to the website, Montreal is no longer just working on limited cases. It is operating fully. They probably just send that email out still because they want to inform you of the 120 day expiry and how the consulate will extend that as they clear out the backlog.

I've been very involved in the Montreal Facebook group recently and have been seeing a lot of May/June 2021 and even September 2021 NOA2 recipients receiving their "In Transit" status on their CEAC. I'm not sure why the embassy is pulling cases so out of order, as these people have stated that they never expedited their cases or anything. It could just be because the consulate is now operating fully. Regardless, it is making me very hopeful that our case will be chosen soon! Stay hopeful Canadian fiance(e)s! ❤️

Not receiving your case number doesn't necessarily mean your case is lost!
I was approved on Aug 13 and didn't received my case letter in the mail either, so I called NVC and they gave it to me! Try calling around 7am-8am EST.

what does "Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center." mean? Will I be emailed when interview date will be?

It means that your interview date should be within those 4 months. It is up to the consulate to extend the validity, if you can prove that you were unable to complete the process due to circumstances beyond your control. But now, since lot of embassies are either still closed or backed up due to covid, I believe the embassies are extending the validity automatically. If not, one may send a reinstatement letter to the consulate.

Received my RFE after 4 call attempts to USCIS. First attempt was told to wait 15 days. 2nd, 3rd and 4th attempt was disconnected before the live person (note to anyone is say a few words when the recording of "please continue to hold" comes up so the computer registers you are there. NOt sure if this is completely valid but it gave me peace of mind that it wouldnt disconnect me. I did it every time) and 5th I was told it was escalated to Tier 2. Tier 2 called me an hour later (first call was at 6pm Central Time (CST) and Tier 2 call was at 7:45pm Central (CST)). Tier 2 called again a little bit ago and emailed my RFE to me.
RFE ends up being the divorce papers I submitted for my fiancee's divorce was not considered a certificate and they require this. I am going to consult the Ukraine forum to make sure it is valid and already notified her of it so she could look into whatever she needs to. But this is all they asked for! awesome stuff for sure. I will keep you all updated with the next steps.
Lesson learned with not receiving information, be persistent in calling!!

Congratulations to all who received their NOA2 this week so far and RFE is also better than nothing. Most of the dates in January are under 50% they have definitely started processing Feb cases with more vigor. Super Slow last few days Next update this coming weekend PS: I have cleaned up the sheet a little more to make it more accurate PS2: Other Column means the cases for which USCIS has taken some sort of an action (for example received a response to RFE and that is the last action on it) Cheers

Update on this. To get through to the live person for calling, say deadline for RFE. The bot will give the definition of the RFE and ask if you have an account. You repeat deadline for RFE. Then it will give you the wait time after another 1 sentence and ask if you want to be connected. Say yes and you are golden. On call number 3 because last night i was disconnected after almost a 2 hour wait because I stepped away for 1 minute and the person answered at that time and heard silence.

Case Status changed to "Ready" today!!! 🎉🎈✨
3 months ago I thought the likelihood of getting to this stage this year was extremely low (if not impossible). Brazil had a HUGE backlog and people were waiting at NVC for over a year. But all of a sudden, things started moving fast and here we are. Stay strong and positive everyone!!

I don’t. That is just the trend based on the data provided in the Excel sheet. It’s solely based on couples who have decided to share their timeline, information, and experience. Similar to VisaJourney. Right now I’m seeing a lot of March recipients of NOA2s having their case switch to “in transit” on their CEAC. So the embassy has requested their case from NVC essentially and they are ready to proceed with their next steps.

It looks like the Montreal Consulate is still quite backlogged so I don't expect to hear anything soon. 😔
Anyone from Canada still waiting for their case to be In Transit?
