iamchrista got a reaction from Tella&T in I-751 December 2020 Filers
It was supposed to arrive in Arizona on December 4th. I had zero updates until December 23rd after mailing it November 30th.. It was delivered on December 26th. Yes. I watched it through tracking on the usps website.

Hello!
So! Thought id update this forum even though I'm originally a November filer because it did not arrive there until December.
I filed 30th November, 2020. I mailed with 3- day priority.
Stuck with USPS for 3 weeks!
Delivered to Phoenix Lockbox 26th December.
Checked my bank account this morning to see the check was cashed 29th Jan!
Waiting for the notice of action in the mail!🎉
Green card and driving license both expired 22nd Jan, 2021.
Hope this helps with other timelines.

Anyone else on this thread have their gc expires soon and still haven't recieved anything back? I'm just being extremely inpatient i know. In 6 days it will be a month since it was delivered. So im still in the time frame for waiting. My card expires this Friday.

My husband received the extension letter in the mail today, which is odd as it was mailed before the check was cashed. I checked last night before going to bed, and the check still hadn't cleared. It did clear after 1pm today
Timeline...
ROC mailed UPS... Dec 13th
Lockbox received it... Dec 16th
Extension letter sent... Jan 21st
Extension letter received... Jan 25th (Nebraska)
Check cashed... Jan 25th

I think there is some confusion! Per my attorney, your status is automatically extended if you timely file your application. The motion of filing the i-751 before your expiration date is what extends your status. The receipt notice is proof that your status has been extended.
So as long as you filed on time, USCIS will consider you in valid status. Your rights and privileges as a conditional resident are still in effect.
The tricky part though is until you get the receipt notice you cannot prove your status. For continuing employment, per i-9 guidelines, a conditional resident does not have to be reverified. But if you accepted new employment, you would need to complete a new I-9 and here now you may not have proof of status. In your question, you didn’t specify continued employment vs new employment, and the officer probably thought you were referring new employment in which case you wouldn’t have proof of status to complete the I-9.
I understand that having a lawyer is expensive, but they are very helpful beyond just completing forms as you can go through legal scenarios such as this with them.

Oh I know this already. I've seen some people with 12/12 have theirs cashed. So they are moving forward.

I think the important part to note here from the customer service person is "due to not having proof of valid status" ..if you already have a job you don't need to proof anything (in my opinion) and I think they aren't allowed to reverify your employment status. That's how I would see it. For me personally - I wouldn't be able to work anywhere outside my home because my DL expired at the date of my gc expiration date and I can't drive anywhere. Usually it shouldn't be an issue with getting the extension letter in time but with covid it just happens.
Maybe for new people reading this -> file as early as possible so you don't have to worry about running out of time. 🤷🏼♀️

all you can do is have patience and wait. Everyone chooses their own path as you read above. As for another matter from post few days or weeks back...do not drive with an expired DL. That has real hard consequences. Good luck (here from a 5sec commentator on a random website called VJ) lol.

You can keep working. Your status as a US resident has not ended either. Your condition is still the same, being married to a USC and filing for removal. You "conditional" GC is called so because of a wording matter and it is not so much different from a 10 year GC. The only difference of both cards is that, the 2 year is to proof that the marriage was not a sham to try to get residency here.
