I am big for wearing the ring but then again like you said its just a ring. Now adays the opposite sex has no respect for it so rather you wear it or not doesn’t change anything. I had this argument with my soon to be one day ex all the time. I hated how he never wore his ring. Now granted he worked as a custodian so he said the chemicals he used at work he was afraid it would mess it up but damn when your not at work I expected your ring to be on your finger.

Now me I wore my ring all the time. I got so used to it I never took it off so it hurt to see me in mine and him never in his. When we started going south I did take my ring of though cause I didn’t feel married.

In A’s defense you do have to remember he did just get married so he does have to get back in the habit of wearing it again. I think that speaks volumes that he said he will do better from now on and remember it.

I love Eminem's comeback though...Mariah is a trashy looking woman to me. I have never seen someone manage to make couture designs look like bargain basement BOGO junk except Mariah. I used to like her voice but now she sounds like she sings entirely through her nose...too nasally for me.

People don't understand why I'm bigger because I don't eat...but I think my metabolism slowed down a lot after having the boys...so it caught up with me. Jonesie and A are always asking me if I ate because I will go days at a time without eating anything.

That's not good Jawi because your body moves into starvation mode and any time you eat food it packs it away thinking it won't get more anytime soon. You need to eat little meals and healthy snacks all day long - you need to stay strong to heal that body back up!

I know...I know..but my body fights me. It's getting so bad that I can't even smell food cooking without doubling over in pain from stomach knotting up. Just talking about it has me ready to head to the restroom.

I definitely understand how you feel as I feel the ring is a symbol of your commitment as well and we never take ours off. Poor Hubby's ring was stuck on h is finger for 3 weeks because he has gained weight and poor man was in pain but we finally got it off with a valiant effort! Although he can't wear it on married finger until its stretched he is now wearing it on his pinky because he knows how upset I would be if he doesn't have it on. I know it's not in any way a reflection of his love if he doesn't wear it but it's like our wonder twin powers ( I know that is silly ) but its a part of the bond we share.

Jawi that man loves you and the ring is only an inanimate object and our emotions get the best of us most times. I am sure he knows now how much it means to you and he and the ring won't ever part. I so wish you could fly to him now and put your arms around him and all will be right in the world again

Yesterday, Steven SURPRISED me by cleaning the plate at this restaurant. He ate this item, which I thouht he'd find too weird:

Then he was still hungry, so I made some jerk chicken served with slightly-toasted bread and some spicy bbq sauce. He found it delicious and asked how I was able to jerk chicken without a jerk pan.

Good morning. Haven't read everything but Damien almost never wears his ring due to his job...usually 6 days a week. He cannot wear jewerly of any type. He tries to remember to wear it when we go out...not a big deal to me. We are not less married.

I never take my ring off cuz I love the bling bling...just kidding. We first had plain matching bands then he upgraded mine so he still has his band. Plan to upgrade his for our anniversary as a surprise. I bet he'll wear it more

Jawi, I wouldn't think too hard on the issue with the ring - When I first got my engagement ring, I would take it off - DJ would get mad at me cause I would take it off to put on sunscreen, and forget to put it back on before we went out - It wasn't something I was used to doing or wearing every day -

If you had been married a year and he religiously put it on, then "forgot" - I might be thinking twice about it - But you are newly married, the ring is new - I know it hurts, but I would try to not read too too much into it.

I'm with you Jawi - I believe the ring is a symbolism of your marriage. I would take my wedding ring off when things started going bad with my ex-husband. In this case he might have just forgot - did he have his other jewelry on? My suggestion would be to let it go for this time - he knows you were very upset and it bothers you so he is apt not to do it again.

Well, he warned me that I will see some other pictures from earlier in the trip later and he wasn't wearing it then either. So it wasn't just one day. He wanted to keep me on the phone last night talking (I guess with the hopes I would get over it)...but I wasn't in the mood for chitchat...and I wanted to be sure I didn't let my temper get the best of me and make me say something I would regret later. I can't even fully enjoy the pictures because he is standing there all smiles and bling sans wedding ring. Cha.

Jawi, I would feel upset as well. I never take mine off, unless my finger gets all swollen for some reason and then I feel naked.

Louis takes his off for work sometimes. He got it caught on something once and hurt his finger. But otherwise it is on even in sleep.

However, don't dwell on it. You know he loves you. Don't let that sit on your mind. Its just a ring, he can't just leave his heart sitting on the nightstand.... he carries your love everywhere.

Yes he takes it off to sleep...and do chores around the house. Honestly, we still haven't gotten it re-sized and it is too big. He almost lost it down the garbage disposal at home...so he started taking it off. Knowing how he felt about wearing one with his ex-wife made me proud when I watched him put it back on his finger with so much reverence...but it also hurt to see it missing when he was away from me.

Jawi..i can uderstand ur point...BUT for me it's not a big deal..a ring is just a ring is just a ring it's for society i think..kashi wears his most of the time same me...I know for me i forget..also when i get hot my fingers swell and the ring starts to feel contricting..so there goes it..as soon as i get i nthe house or comfy somewhere they are off...

I feel you...and my finger too...but I only take them off at home. I got my rings bigger for that very reason...so I wouldn't be tempted to take them off all the time. He has been wearing the ring consistently here at home...first thing he grabs in the morning (besides his smokes)...so why forget it now? I wouldn't have gotten as upset about it if he didn't have all his other jewelry on in the picture. He keeps everything together...so I still don't understand how he forgot to put that ring on.

I think I will encourage A to do it...because I don't like the fact that as a permanent resident, they can still be deported. No one wants to think that something bad might happen..but I don't like thinking that my husband of twenty odd years can be taken away on a technicality.

The good thing is that Jamaica is a country that will recognize dual citizenship. I want to get my Jamaican citizenship this time around. I just never got around to it with my last marriage.

I had a small disagreement with A because his sister posted some pics of them dropping their other sister off at the airport, and I noticed that A didn't have his wedding band on. I didn't agrue or yell at him, but he knew I was upset because he can automatically sense my moods. He told his sister about it because she overheard him talking to me about it. He apologized and told me that he just forgot to put it on that day. Well, his sister sent me a message on FB telling me that she understands my point but not to be mad at him. She said that he is taking me being upset about it very hard...that he can't stop talking about me and he loves me so much. She asked me not to be mad at him because she forgets to put her rings on all the time. Then, she told me that she has my back because she believes in our love 1000%.

I'm upset because A NEVER put his ring on with his ex-wife...and he told me it was because he didn't love her. Am I making too big a deal out of this? He said he will just get in the habit of putting it on before his other jewelry...so he doesn't forget. I'm still upset. On the other hand, I feel like I am sweating the small stuff. The symbolism of the ring is important to me...even though I know it won't stop a man or woman from doing what they want to do. How do you guys feel about the wearing of the wedding band?

Hi everyone.

I am very sad because my husband found out this morning that his mother passed away. He is on a plane right now on his way back to Jamaica. The saddest part about it is that he had a ticket to go down for a week on monday. He was just five days short of seeing his mother one last time.

She had been sick with headaches and dizzy spells, but nobody thought she was on her deathbed. She was only 51 years old. I still don't know what she died from.

So, my question is...what should I do? I want to go down and be there for him, but the money just isn't there. I don't have any experience with Jamaican funerals or customs.

Steven's feeling a bit under the weather still. Despite that, we had a FULL day: walked around the neighborhood, toured the apt complex, shopped @ super wal-mart, Steven cooked, dinner party @ my aunt's, coffee house (for poetry & saxophone playing) with some friends.

He fell asleep almost 30 minutes ago... and it's only 10:30pm. LOL Guess I wore him out.

Wow Steven did a lot for someone not feeling well. I can't believe he even cooked too. It sounds like a nice day though. Still can't believe you pulled it off and was able to bring him back with you.

I think I have everything set for the wedding. Although My2 reminded me the other day about the marriage license which I had forgotten about. Nov. 8th is our big day. I feel like I've been married for a long time actually...but in a good way.
