I wouldn't worry about the rest of the people. Our process went smoothly and we didn't think about people getting approved faster than us or slower than us. You can live your life worrying about others, or you can live your life grateful for what you have, and hope for the best outcome for your case. And if you're worried about people working illegally, what about all these politicians illegally getting money from lobbyists and in the end, we are the ones getting screwed? my thoughts to you is, if its gone smoothly so far, then continue thinking it will go smoothly, and you will be surprised with the end results. We didn't send our 693 form, and instead of worrying about an RFE, we figured, if it comes, we'll deal with it when it does. Of course, the RFE never came and we got approved without an interview. Good luck, and hopefully youll have a smooth journey like we did with our AOS.

Also, if you were to look at any employment application, most will tell you that they required two types of ids that prove that you can work in the usa....social security number is one, and the other one is your greencard or EAD. SS# alone is not enough proof to work in the usa.
-
You walk in and say, "I'm here to have my biometrics done." If they are not busy, they don't even question you when your appt is. And if they do, then you can tell them that you won't be available on that date and wanted to do it earlier. Simple as that.

We got that EAD stamp at JFK, but is worthless; as people said, most employers won't go through the trouble of hiring you if you won't be eligible to work.....of course, for us, flying to JFK was the cheapest way to the USA so we didn't really flew there to get the stamp, but honestly, not worth the hassle.

Hey, guys!
Apologize for so many topics, but I went in to my original civil surgeon yesterday to have the paperwork filled out again, since I've received a RFE on my medical as well. At the time, I did not have any evidence that I've had chicken pox as a child and the put Varicella History in the paperwork. The doctor, however, put "the applicant will seek waiver based on a moral/religious conviction." I've written a letter directed to USCIS explaining the situation, to no avail I guess. Well, yesterday, the clinic refused me service and called the cops on my that escorted me out of there. Even with the evidence shown that I did have chicken pox and am immune to it, they insisted I have one vaccine against it still. All the other civil surgeons in the area told me that I do not have to take any at all. I tried telling them that, but they wouldn't listen. I've been very stressed out these couple of days and might have raised my voice a few times and be a little rude to them, so it's not entirely their fault. The receptionist did, however, lie to me over the phone, telling me that some regulations have changed, etc. I've confirmed this as false by calling others in the area. She said she even called the MO and Oklahoma City offices to confirm this.
I have a copy of the original paper work and don't know what to do now. I will try calling the other civil surgeons in the area, and see if they can help out. I don't have the funds to afford a new physical. What should I do, guys? Can I file a complaint?
Thank you!
P.S. any other way I can reach uscis by phone or mail, except for the one already listed on their website?
Complaints don't really achieve anything, as far as I understand. You also mention that you have original paper work but don't know what to do. What original paper work are you talking about? I read your post a couple of times, and after reading it a couple of times, all I can advise is, you won't really gain much by complaining about the civil surgeon. You can do a search on the forum, and I believe others will say the same. Also, if you need help on anything else, maybe you might want to clarify the situation and your question(s).

My wife just applied for an AOS and everything is currently pending. We are badly in need of a vacation and we were thinking of taking a cruise to the Bahamas or Mexico, but with the recent changes to the passport laws and the fact her status is still pending, would we be safe to go or would it be considered abandonment. We applied for an advanced parol so she could travel to her home country but we didn't know if we had to wait for it or of we could take our vacation. We also trie calling carnival and other compainies but no one knows. Can someone please help us?
Take a vacation in hawaii...is still usa territory---if you're in real need of a vacation.

One more thing I forgot to say....what address did you use for your k1?
One thing you need to keep in mind is that you always need to inform USCIS of address change. So if you filed your k1 visa and you use address abc, and now youre filing aos and you will be using address xyz, then that could be a problem, as you're supposed to inform USCIS of all your address changes. So for our case, we filed the k1 using my permanent address abc; however, I had to move to a temporary address, so before filing AOS, I did the Address change with USCIS, and listed my parents address, xyz. After we did that, weeks later we sent the AOS packet with xyz address, and had no problems at all.

hi everyone..we will be married next week and we are currently in the process of preparing the aos packet...we are confused... will i put my fiancee'shome address (but we will be staying for a month only because he weill be deployed) ? or shall i just put the address of my aunt?where i will stay when he gets deployed.
THANK U n God bless everyone
if I were in your shoes, I would put aunt's address because even if you had to change that address, in the future, any mislabeled addressed correspondence from USCIS would still make it to your aunt's who I'm sure would pass along the mail to you.
On a side note, when we were going through the process, I was in the middle of changing addresses because of work; I was supposed to move to this other location for 6 months only, and I figured I would change the address when the time came with USCIS; however, as that was going on, my friend who was getting his citizenship papers (not thru k1 but family related), was in the middle of his process, and he moved, he updated his address with USCIS, but somehow USCIS managed to send appointment letters and such to his old address; needless to say he missed the appointments, and went through hell to try to get his stuff back in order. That was the sign from heaven as I say that led me to use my parent's permanent address, but of course, I had to change my driver's license address to theirs because I could at least say that my parents was my permanent address, and my other address was temporary to work.
Fortunately, all our stuff went without problems, so if you can, I would use your aunt's address to be on the safe side.

I switched jobs twice while the AOS was pending and had zero effect on our case.

If i were you, i would leave the matter as it is; if anything were to come up, you would receive an RFE; however, you raising the mistake without being prompted to do so might only hinder your process. And just to let you know, I think there is a section where it asks to put the addresses of the last 5 years. WE also forgot to put a couple of the addresses down as we got the dates mixed up, but it never became a problem; and sure as hell, we didn't send a new form or did we send anything else to point out the mistake. B) We figured that if it was going to be a problem, then we would get an RFE, but of course, we never got one, and the whole process went without a hitch.

Hello.... I am currently in the process of getting a K1 visa... but I had a question about my SS card that I obtained while I was a student in the US. I know people have said that there card had restrictions written on it... I just looked at my card it has no writing on it whatsoever... does this mean I can work when I get to the US... or do I still have to file I765??
You still have to file the i765. The social security card alone doesn't authorize you to work in the usa. Normally when americans apply for a job, they want to see 2 items that demonstrate their eligibility to work in the usa, and those are, the social security card number, and something like your usa birth certificate, or USA passport; obviously you won't have a usa passport or birth certificate so this is where your work permit or greencard comes into hand. But just having a social security card won't be sufficient to prove you're eligible to work in the usa.

Not to beat the horse, but think of the residence card as your ticket to enter the usa, not europe. She must follow her country's citizenship guidelines to enter any other country. She will be able to enter europe once she has her us citizenship.

Hi Everyone,
The Milwaukee office of USCIS which serves or local area isn't able to issue Advanced parole for emergency travel when I use the Infopass system.
This error has cost me a couple of days time in trying to get my Wife her AP for travel this Sunday.
Can I schedule an Infopass appointment at the next closest office, presumably Chicago, and if so do we know they can issue AP?
I have only tonight to get this done for a potential Infopass appointment tomorrow.
Tx!!
WE had zero success trying to get the AP at a local USCIS office; we only got thru the phone after trying about 3 times and getting all types of different answers. Given you don't have much time, you might as well try to do a walk in and hope for the best, but if its like us, not sure you will have much luck getting the AP at the local USCIS office; many times these employees don't give a damn about helping you.
Here is what happened to us:

You can do the biometrics appt at any time, anywhere, as long as you have the biometrics letter with you, and your marriage certificate. Our appointment was to be in south florida, but we wanted to expedite the AP and we got the letter as we were about to leave to texas; so once in texas, we went to the office there, walked in, and we got the biometrics done. The only thing that might prevent you from doing a walk in, is if the location that you go to is highly crowded, but you can ask the security person when is the least crowded time and go back, or find another office....Your spouse can even locate a california office, and do the biometrics there. You could go to Alaska and do them there too. Just do a search of walk in biometrics and you will see that many forum members have done, and back when I did my search, I don't remember reading any posts about anybody having any problems doing a walk in; you can also try searching for rescheduling biometrics. Good luck.

We went thru the same problem in the Houston area; I have a list of about 10 doctors I called and all of them wanted to do a physical, and do vaccines even though my wife already had them; at one place i told them the guidelines just like you did, but their response was, 'we get a lot of fake documents here, so we have to make sure we do it all to comply...' At least they had a legit excuse...

Maybe this is one tip that needs to be sticked at the top. I remember messaging a member from Romania that had gone thru the same process, and after all her advice, she added to get a copy of the 3025 because we would need it again when fiance (now wife) arrived in the usa. Indispensable advice for sure. Don't remember reading that in the guides though, but that was golden advice for sure.
-
We opened 3 bank accounts without a problem. We just showed the marriage license and that was it. Didn't you guys take the marriage license to show the name change?
yes we took the license and the SSN card and NOA letters and passport and Biometrics appointment letter stamped from the appointment for the biometrics.
I would maybe call the 800 customer service number and ask that you just got married, and what are the steps to get your wife in your account; once they tell you that, then you can say, by the way, what if my wife is not a us citizen, but is in the process of getting her green card, and see what they tell tell you. Depending on the answer, go back to a different branch. Honestly, even illegal aliens can get bank accounts nowadays. You might also might look into getting a new bank; we opened an account at citibank, wells fargo, and bank of america and all they asked was marriage certificate and passport.

look at step 4.
Since my passport is almost full of stamps, i photocopied the whole thing. But the guide says
4. Copy of the non US Citizen Spouses Passport (biographical page as well as entry stamps).
Maybe others can weigh in.

Given that the guidelines say that the AP is approved based on 'emergency' or 'bona fida reasons', I would take out the part that says you want to visit the parents for pleasure. Don't think that's necessary

Here is a fresh post of somebody that got transferred to CSC, but then got transferred back to the national benefit center, so most likely as somebody says in the post, they will get an RFE or get an interview---so yea, not guaranteed the transfer to CSC will get you out of the interview, but chances are pretty good. Also, somebody there posted that they got transferred to CSC, back NBC and back to CSC....

Same was done to us; if you do a search on the forums you will find that many people who got transferred to CSC got approved without the interview. Our case was transferred, and that did happen---approved without interview. When I did my search, I only read about 1 case that got transferred and still had the interview; thus, odds say you will most likely get approved without an interview! Best of luck!

We didn't submit the 693 either because we were running out of time and we procrastinated a bit, so we sent in the 3025, and never got an RFE. However, we read thru the posts and the chances are higher with getting an RFE it seems.

YOu get a letter with a specific date and time; however, you can walk in at any time, given that you have the letter with you and your marriage certificate. Suffices to say my appointment was to be done in florida, and I did mine in texas. Had I been in alaska, could have walked in there too. It is that simple.
