Over 200 days since filing. We are starting to think we won’t be able to travel for our one year marriage anniversary and it’s getting a little frustrating. I would really love for him to have the right to drive at least in case something happens to me or our dog. This process is even worse than the wait for K1 honestly.
Same here. Sent to Phoenix also and nothing. We just want to take a vacation out of the country. Getting pretty frustrating now especially when you read all these others who got theirs in just a 3 or 4 months.

There’s some cases in LA that applied after me that already have their GC in hand. It’s so not fair, but such is life in American immigration.
Really? That's crazy. You have an almost identical timeline to mine. Any action on the aos yet? I also sent to Phoenix lockbox in end of January and still waiting.

Thanks for the replies all. So I filed for an extension and it got rejected! Why? Because she has no SSN! Well duh! This is ridiculous.

Good Lord, the US tax code is beyond idiotic, but that's a subject for another day. So I save ton by filing jointly, however my wife is waiting on her green card and we submitted the SSN application with the green card. My understanding is that because she is a NRA and we are trying to file jointly (huge savings) she needs a SSN or ITIN. Well I'm pretty sure I read you don't apply for ITIN if you are eligible for SSN so what the heck do I do here? Just file an extension? Can I just attach a letter saying we're waiting for her SSN? Anybody that can tell me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I'm surprised you never came across this piece of crucial advice in your year here on VJ. It is said again and again that the first thing to do after stepping off the plane is to apply for an SSN.
Well I'm kicking myself now. Guess I just never noticed that part. I assumed that was something that couldn't happen until after you're married.

You do not need a SSN for insurance. Escalate up the chain if needed. Now that you are married, you will, likely, have to wait until receipt of an EAD to get a SSN.
I-94s are electronic.
Okay thanks for the reply. It's strange I can't even obtain the digital copy. Their website just says no record found. I do need this I-94 to apply for adjustment of status though?
-
Okay this is getting a little more than frustrating to figure out. Had no idea my fiance was eligible for a SSN immediately or we would have done that. Anyway what is this I-94? We absolutely did NOT receive one when entering the country and CBP website just says no record found. The border guy just stamped her and her daughters(K2) passports and threw all the paperwork in the trash.
How do we go about getting the SSN now that we're married? I realize on the AOS paperwork there is a part that says to have SSN issued however for insurance we need it ASAP. Can somebody tell us how we can do this quickly or what exactly we must do now? We got married within the 90 days and now are just past it.
Thanks

So does anybody know about how long before we should receive the NVC letter? It will go to my fiance in her country is that correct? We haven't received it yet and I'm thinking we should have. Thanks

This made my day. I know you were one of the people who had excessive delays in your NOA1 so seeing that it didn't have a major impact on NOA2 times is great news.
Yeah it was quite the wait and I had no idea how long this would take as a result, but finally! You shouldn't be too far behind I would think.

So any October people get an approval yet?

Congrats
if the receipt notice is 30th October, does that mean you 8 month duration will be counted from that till NOA2
Thanks and my understanding is yes.

Hello all,
I have field I-129f in November 3, and it was reached Texas Lockbox in November 6. But I have not received my Receipt Notice yet nor get an email or a text message. I have contacted the USCIS and I was told that they could not locate my application because it wasn’t in the system yet. I also have contacted the Lockbox in the beginning of December and I only got a reply back from the auto computer. Then I recontacted them again in the beginning of January and I was told “ Good day,
The Lockbox has recently experienced a significant increase in filings. This, in addition to the restrictions put in place because of the COVID-19 pandemic is causing significant delays for processing receipt notices. USCIS continues to work hard to minimize delays. Once your submission has been completely processed, you will receive a notice in the mail. If you do not receive a notice within the next 30 business days, please contact Lockbox Support for additional details.
TRISTAN.”
With all the being said, until today I have not heard or received anything and I am really concerned and worried!! I don’t know what to do, should I reapply or should I wait?? Because when I check the tracking number (where I sent it) it stated it was reached Dallas Lockbox in November 6. Also, my money order hasn’t been cashed either. Is anyone experiencing or have experienced this situation and what have you done?? ANY ADVICE!!!
Thanks
Don't reapply. Mine was received October 30th and I just got it yesterday finally! So your's is probably coming pretty soon.

I meant the two years during which you are required to have met your fiance at least once. (two years prior to filing)
Oh I see. I have to believe they would back date to when you applied. I don't know for sure, but I can't imagine otherwise. I'm sure you're good.

So will the two years be counted from Oct. 31 or from a date in Jan when they send the NOA1?
2 years? Where did you hear that number? I hope it won't be that long, but supposedly they back date to when it was received so it will count from Oct 31.

Is it just me or is it insane that there are people who files in january receiving noa1s before people who filed in october and november?! I guess they will move forward based on the receipt date but this to me just screams of extreme disorganization or some other major screwup at the lockbox.
Are you freaking kidding me? I sent mine Oct 27th and nothing!!! I'm beyond pissed at this point. Only from the standpoint that what if it gets rejected for some dumb reason. Their incompetence will have cost me 3 months minimum.

3 months ?? lol... I waited around 5 months pre-pandemic days. Way ahead of your self.
You realize I'm talking about the NOA1 only. Not the entire process. They've clearly stopped processing altogether, using covid as their typical excuse.

I understand how you feel. When I filed for mine the NOA2 wait time was 5-6 months. Then it turned into 6.5-7.5. now it's 7.5-9.5
So things keep changing, but keep your head up. My embassy still hasn't processed barely any visas since March and they don't post any information about when they ever will resume, they can't even get US diplomats into the embassy to start working again.
It'll be okay! You'll get it soon
I should be more clear, I'm talking exclusively about the NOA1. In 3 months, I have received nothing and only the run around from the lockbox facility. There are many of us on this forum waiting for the NOA1. So essentially now if they choose to reject an application for one reason or another, we have lost 3 months because of their failure to process applications and cash the check in a timely manner. They clearly have stopped processing them altogether.

Hey everyone, I have now tried several avenues. Their customer service, the ombudsman and my congressman to no avail. I've now talked with an attorney and suing the Government is quite expensive. I'll be talking with a second later today as well. It's become quite evident to me after 3 months of waiting for the NOA1, they are simply not working. There is no real effort and the incompetence is mind boggling. I'm considering organizing a legal effort to sue USCIS over this. I'd like to gauge support and see how many here would be interested in this to know if it's feasible. The more people represented in one lawsuit the better, not to mention it's much easier on the wallet for all of us. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

That's criminal. 2 months+ waiting for a receipt notice that is supposed to take just a few days. If that takes 2 months how long do they expect the other steps to take?!
Does the spousal visa have the same delays?
I have no idea, but I notice k-1 visas seem to be taking more along the lines of 1 year for most people now. It was only around 6 months before this covid nonsense.

My I-129F was received like 10 days ago, though judging by these experiences, God knows when I'll get the NOA1. The frustrating thing is when I look at the timelines of people who submitted in 2019, they generally got NOA1 in just a matter of days!
I submitted mine end of October and still no NOA1

Anybody have any idea why they're requesting the biometrics appointment again for our daughter? She along with my wife did this back in March! It ticks me off because now I'm wondering if they just lost it or never had it and now how much longer will we wait?! Any ideas? Or is this normal?
