  1. It depends on her, i'll tell you this, waiting for Visa approval will take some time and the waiting is very stressful. A job can spare her from stress and boredome. If she can't get the clearance from her employer she can always resign, as long as she did not sign a contract agreement that she will work for them for a certain period of time, she can resign anytime.

  2. I was kinda upset with the staff from SSN he told us i cannot get my SSN card until i get my work permit. But i can have SSN number for tax purposes. He said we have to call IRS first and request for form W-7. Goodness gracious i told my husband He maybe wrong or was it me? I read Sheriff Uling's guidelines and maybe like those on K1 visa i can get even if i dont have work permit yet right? Holy smoke.... whats goin on with this SSN office in here. What should i do?

Its rediculous, how can you file for taxes if you are not working yet. SSA people are not very well acquainted with Immigration rules. If you are a K1 Visa Holder you can apply for SSN two weeks after your arrival, the SSA can verify your information in SAVE-ASVI database. If the SSA employee will not issue you the SSN bring a copy of RM 00203.500 (on topic C of this link) https://secure.ssa.gov/apps10/poms.nsf/lnx/0100203500#c1

  4. Please forgive this question, but I have to ask because I honestly have no idea.

Can anyone tell me if biometrics, info pass and ajustment of status interview will all be at the same place/office?

I live in Northern Kentucky, and am trying to figure out where my fiance will have to go to when the time comes.

If we would need to make an infopass appointment, how do we know where to go?

    Thanks

You will receive a Notice with instruction on where to go on your Biometrics and Interview.

  5. Hi,just a few questions...1st. I am waiting for my fiance's G-325A forms in the mail  She used EMS international world-wide postal courier network...has anyone heard of it? I have the tracking number, but nothing comes up for it...it was mailed 5 days ago express and my fiance e-mailed me a copy of the recipt so I know I have tracking number right. It was mailed from the Philippines. 2nd. I have read in the forms some examples on how to assemble the I-129f package and seen some photos put together on the same page...I like the look..but will they except photos put together like that or will they want them like stated in the guides...I think it said separate photo's with dates and location written on the back? The photo's all on one page was a cleaner look..was it done on MS word? As all my photo's were taken with my digital camera. 3rd. Last but not at all least WE just found out WE are pregnant  I am 40yrs old never married and no kids...Geraldyn and I are very, very excited, she just had the first visit with her doctor and all is going well...but the doctor is saying no traveling. I know from reading the forms and looking at time lines that it is a 50/50 chance to get approved before or after the baby is born....God willing :D My question is...on the I-129f it asks to name any children she has that will be traveling with her? What do we put? We want to file now to try and lessen the wait...but I have not found any information on petitioning while being pregnant :help: Any information would be greatly appreciated,We thank you All :thumbs:post-44902-1209875760_thumb.jpg

EMS is the express courier service of the Philippine Postal Services, it supposed to be express delivery but it depends on what province in the Philippines the mail come from. I used that service also before and it took more than a week to reach my Fiance. So hang on there and you will have it in few days.

About the Photos, i suggest that you paste the picture in a bond paper and put the caption on it. You can put 2 or more pictures in one bond paper depending on the size of the picture. You can do it in MS Word or in Photoshop just don't edit the pictures and use the Photo Printer for better picture quality.

Congratulations! Im sorry i can't answer you about the pregnancy and baby thing, i sure there's someone here can answer your questions.

  6. anyone from the philippines experience this???

my fiance had his blood test at St Luke's philippines.... did that include the HIV test???

so now here in california.... he had his TD shot (tetanus diptheria) and the nurse was requiring him to have another blood test for HIV??? is that necessary??

Yes, the blood test that St. Lukes took from him was for HIV. Tell the nurse that he already got her full medical exam back in the Philippines, TD is not available there so he need to take it here in the US. All you need to do is to take the vaccination records that St. Lukes gave him together with the TD shots record to the Civil Surgeon.

  7. hello people

im planning to petition my fiancee in the philippines very soon, but i have concerns about her being widowed and her marriage to her late husband was never registered (they had an muslim marriage ceremony). also they had 2 minor kids which also use their father's last name. being the marriage ceremony was never registered, my fiancee did not used her late husband's last name.

my question is.....would that raise red flags? will my fiancee have problem getting her kids here in the states? if yes, how can she fix this?

and also i was reading ahead about ds-156k, im kind of confused about the requirements....does she still need to get a marriage certificate copy or the death certificate copy of her late husband is sufficient? or does she need both?

    thanks in advance

    eddie

    btw visa journey rocks!

If your fiancee's marriage was not registered, then the marriage doesn't legally exist and she is legally able to marry any man she wants. Since the marriage doesn't exist she doesn't need her husband's death certificate. If you want to file for K-1 all you need to do is to request from NSO the CENOMAR (Certificate of Non Marriage), this alone will prove that she's never been married and legally able to marry you.

  8. You can only apply for a US passport after getting US citizenship.

I agree, only US citizens can apply for a US passport, in your case your not qualified for apply for citizenship yet. To change your name on your Philippine passport you have to contact the Philippine consulate in Chicago and file for passport ammendment to change name. Since you already have a greencard you don't need to file for AP.

This is the information of the Philippine Consulate in Chicago:

  9. Hi,

I've just looked at the VJ guidelines, which say you should apply for the SSN well before the I-94 expires. I was not on the ball and my husband's visa will be expiring in about one week. Does this mean we have to wait until his GC comes to apply for SSN? Or can he go apply when the EAD comes through? Or can we apply whenever with evidence that we're in the AOS process?

    thanks,

    Rebecca

you have to wait until you got your GC or EAD on hand. Good luck!

  10. Here I am again, I have been hearing a lot about California Service Center to being so slow, my fiance is from Michigan, would it be possible to file in Vermont Service Center instead.

We are now starting to regret hiring a lawyer for some reasons that everything seems to me much slower because we have to send the documents to the lawyer before the lawyer can send our documents to USCIS, and so far the lawyer have not received yet the priority envelop we sent to them with our documents last April 15, 2008...

Since that is our situation now, we are thinking of requesting to file in Vermont Service Center, I want to know if that is possible.

    Thank you so much.

    God bless us all.

    Cloe&Jeff

Since he live if Michigan your only option is CSC.

  11. need some help :

    1. in # 22 when do u intend to arrive in the USA? i don't know when but as soon as possible after my visa is issued. Now, my question do i have to leave this blank?

    2. in # 41 applicant's signature. do i have to sign after i completed the form or i have to wait till i am infront of the interviewee?

    3. it is okay to answer ds 156 form through handwritting?

i hope you that anybody can help me. Thank you so much!

1.) If you are filing electronically you can't put ASAP or leave it blank, so just put any date thats possible.

2.) You can sign it anytime you want.

3.) During my time USEmbassy accepts handwritten DS156 forms, but im not sure this time. To be sure file it electronically if you can.

  12. Hi, I'm just curious if you are going to marry a Filipino guy who was born and raised in the Phillipines do you still need to attend the CFO seminar? My fiance was born in PI and he left the country when he was 16 however he lives in an "all-filipino" household and he still have the same Filipino values and all.

Its a government requirement for every filipino migrants. I am sad to say that you have to take it, you cannot board a plane without CFO sticker attached on your passport.

  13. So here i go again lol... hello everybody and thanks for taking time reading to my ever non-sense paranoia and anxiety.... tomorrow around 7:45 a.m ill be officially working at Ace hardware as a cashier (full time 40 hrs/week)... and this will be my first time job without the comfort of my husband's business and the comfort of our home as a home agent...

i already have work here in he US after i got my GC in my husband's store (handling cash registry, inventory, merchandising, cleaning, customer service etc)... the thing is i can what i want, i can do go home when i want and that i can just tell my boss (my husband) that i dont wana work today lol... so it isnt a "real" job per se plus the check im getting feels like not a "real" paycheck since it coming from our own business hehe... so i applied as a home agent handling cable billing (comcast) dealing with customer on the phone if they wana pay some bills, or if the want upgrade or troubleshoot their TV... the thing again is that there's a bunch of irate customers that they will yell and get angry for no particular reason and i cant handle such attitude which i cant blame them coz somehow they felt the company gave them a bad customer service... so after a month i quit... lol... hindi ko masikmura (i cant stomach it) hehehe... i can say, my english is ok but when they started yelling, suddenly i felt like im talking to them as if they come from mars or from pluto... we cant understand each other hahah...

and so here i am again, was hired by ACE hardware last saturday and will work right away tomorrow... yesterday my husband and i bought some food for lunch for my work, lunch box, water bottle and some clothes and working shoes... and it really feels like its my first day of school  my husband and i were laughing about all our stuff that we bought and that im really really nervous and cant sleep and i think there's an elephant in my stomach aside from a butterfly. lol...

so this is it... i really hope ill do great tomorrow and they wont fire me right away hahaha... wish me luck y'all and may God give me strength and presence of mind while working...

God bless and will update you about my first day!!! :luv:

Congrats, don't worry you'll be fine. Just go there with confidence and stand tall (eventhough your not) , smile and be nice to everybody and they'll be nice to you too.

  14. Hello all ! My fiancee is from Cebu, she will be going to Manila for the Physical, what I would like to know is if she will need to return back to Manila to get a copy of her results or is this a one day deal ?

SLEC will submit the result of the medical exam directly to the USEmbassy. If she pass the tests, they will give her the X-ray Film and Vaccination Records upon her Checkout on the second day.

  15. How is the photo in your NBI clearance? Is it clear? Mine is kinda blurry. Do you think this will cause a problem? Need your opinion.

    -Riza :)

Thats Normal you don't have to worry about it.

  16. i'm very excited to that POE..soon i will be coming to US..and experience that..,my question is i will hand carry my x-ray film result and the Vaccines papers together with my documents from USem that they will send me?

They didn't asked for my x-ray film at the POE but just in case hand carry it together with your Visa Package that the USembassy will send you.

  17. Hi all.... I was looking at the difficulty ratings on different POE's and I was wondering if anyone out there ever used Las Vegas and if so, what was their experience? :secret: I found a good price on airfare for my Gem from Manila, stopping in Canada and continuing to Las Vegas. Then transfer to another carrier from Vegas to Florida. I found many airports listed in the statistics section of this website, but none for Las Vegas. Thanks.Frank

Hi, my POE is Las Vegas Mc Carran International Airport, and i haven't had any problem.... its a very fast and hassle free POE... the officers are very friendly and very helpful. But i dont know about the transfer to another carrier.... have a safe trip!

  18.
