Congratulations to all of you for getting closer to your green card!!! Really happy for y’all.
I have a quick question; does anyone know how I could potentially speed up the process on my side…? I got my biometrics done in the beginning of August and it then changed to case is ready to be scheduled for an interview but since then nothing…. I would really love to have my combo card and finallly being able to start my career. I had already done a request regarding the travel authorization since it was technically out of normal processing time which is why I got my biometric appointment. But nothing since then and I don’t know if there is anything I could do to help speed it up?
    TIA 🙌🏼

Hey Ophelie, how are you? I am Emanuela:)

Listen, you cannot send an e-request for the travel document even though it is out of normal processing time. The e-request will not be taken into consideration if  both the working permit to which the travel document is related, is still within the timeframe of the normal processing times.

Does anyone have a list of documents to bring to the interview? K1 are limited since there’s no social security number you have less options. Anyone that went already to the interview can give us an idea of what they will be asking for?? Our interview is oct 19

Just done my interview today at 10.15 AM CT at the St. Louis Office.

The interview went super well and smooth. The lady was nice and tried to put us at ease. She went through the AOS form and asked me to confirm the answers we have given.

She only wanted to have some bona fide documents so I handed her the car title where I appear as TOD (transfer on death beneficiary), 2 lease agreements for the apartment we have been renting since 2020, pictures of us and our wedding, life insurance where I appear as the 100% beneficiary. I also gave to her the gym membership and the phone plan but unfortunately my name was not stated in any of these documents so she did not want them. I also showed to her congratulations cards for our wedding.

Got asked for more evidence, marriage certificate, my wifes drivers license, passports, bank account, tax return.. I can’t even remember what else I submitted, it was sooooo much.
And to make it worst it was at 7am, who wants to work that much at 7 in the morning hahaha

The problem is that since I still do not have a SSN for my husband it was impossible to add me to his bank account......so besides the lease, the gym membership and the phone agreement and a car..I don't have anything else....

We just did our interview and it went well, just way to many questions. It is not a really comfortable situation when you are being asked so many private questions by a stranger but oh well, nothing we can do about it and hopefully in about 2-3 weeks I’ll get the card. I’m just happy that after 2 years we are done with this and now we can hopefully take some break until removing conditions.

BTW the ead card is out for delivery

Really? What type of questions have you been asked?

She got a SSN on her K1 I-94 but it's in her maiden name. She did ask for a new SSN card on the I-765 so hopefully they just update the name for us and avoid the headache of getting another appointment.

That was exactly what I was trying to get once I arrived in the US back in October 2020. All the SSA offices were (and still are) closed and I realised I could have gotten a SSN too late....glad you guys were able to get one!

Hmmm woow same for me.. it changed yesterday for the EAD card is being produced and my interview is next Wednesday. I’m worried now that it wont arrive before the interview, and the notice says bring every ead card you’ve ever had with you. But oh well what can I do, not my fault lol

Exactly. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Any ideas on when it is supposed to turn into "Card has been mailed to me"?

  7. Did my biometrics on Monday the 26th of July. Who knows now how long it will take to get the EAD. But as @Siggy said, apparently who is adjusting from marriage, k1 visa in particular, should expect to get GC interview scheduled instead of the EAD/Travel document which are issued in case of emergency.

On a certain point of view, skipping that intermediate passage may be good...it really depends on how long they take to schedule the GC interview though....and the forecast do not look good.

I just received a letter in my mail for biometrics appointment on 6/29. Things are moving finally after 5 months

I saw you have my same timeline! I sent my package on Jan 11th and got my NOA1 on Jan 20th. I have not received any RFEs though and I hope that I will not now that 5 months have passed. Does this mean it will be my turn soon? lol..........................😔

Its ridiculous, especially feels frustrating if you have spent the last 10 months in a state that reopened last summer. Makes me wonder how many months it'll be till we get employment authorization too, It sucks not being able to work.

It is crazy! I just feel good knowing that other people who applied in the same month are pretty much in my same situation. I have been separated from now husband for 10 months due to the pandemic and the conculates unable to resume the k1 visa process...and now this....

  10. Hi,

It has been almost 5 months since I filed for the AOS from a K1 visa. Anytime I chat with an Emma Live Agent, I received the same "saved-reply". When I attempted to request an expedite they asked me whether or not I had done my bio. I start thinking that they do not see anything different than what we see on our USCIS account.

What do you think? Does anybody have a different experience?

  11. I have tried different times to request an expedite but it seems that all the people to whom I have talk to are not willing to help me as my bios have not been done yet.

Frankly, I think that the USCIS rep on live chat and phone do not have any clue about how are the cases proceeding. Many of them ask me whether my bios were scheduled or not.....so I think that they do not see anything (or they do not want to).

My husband and I filed AOS on Jan 20th (he came on a k1 in nov). We had a family emergency a few weeks ago and had been trying to request an expedited travel permit. We had to schedule an emergency biometrics and info pass appt (I had to get a senators office involved). Finally Almost 3 wks later we recieved a notification that his EAD and AP have been approved and the AOS is ready for interview. Good luck to everyone as these wait times are frustrating. Let’s hope that as our country gets back to normal and opens back up, USCIS processing catches up on cases.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

We are thinking about calling USCIS and talking with a tier 2 officer just to see what he/she may suggest. I am on the 123rd day and STILL nothing....

    hi

Not sure about the wait times nowadays due to the pandemic. This is what I experienced 2 years ago. For St Louis it was not bad, not sure how it is now, but back then from filing to an actual interview was around 8 months. Honestly not sure what the current times are due to office closures. I am removing conditions currently so hoping to not get an interview but we will see.

We didn't experience anything strange. The interview was firm and on point, but there was no hostility or grilling us on the spot.

I was not approved on the spot because some of my paperwork was missing at the time of the interview. The lady said that it was not sent and she will need to request my medical from storage. (Needed to get an extra MMR shot here stateside before doing AOS and sent that in with my AOS, so I assume that was put in storage?) Anyway got approval in 2 weeks after the interview.

Also at the time of my interview they were running behind, so we waiting an extra hour past our interview date, but we were there to check in on time. Parking is interesting around there. There are some street parking right around the office, but keep that in mind and arrive a bit early to ensure if you need to park a bit further then you don't need to run :)

Oh and the biometric appointment is in the same building as the interview location, so you will be familiar when/if you need to go to the interview.

Are you from St Louis or just the field office is?

Hi, sorry for being late in replying you.

Thank you a lot for the precious info. I noticed that you have adjusted status from a K1 visa, like me. Well, USCIS received my package on January 12th but still no news...so I was trying to create a network of people who are in my same situation. Adjusting from a K1 makes me feel better in the sense that at least I have married my husband and I filed for permanent residency with the "official" visa to do so...however, recently, I have started feeling the pressure of being here, hitting the fourth month and having nothing with me other than the NOA1.

That being said, I live in St. Louis:)

Me, but that was some time ago. Do you have any specific question or you are looking for ppl from Stl?

    Hi!

Actually I was trying to gather some info about the waiting times. I am still waiting for my bio and it has been now 105 days since I sent my AOS out.

    I am adjusting from a K1.

I would like to connect with other people whose AOS is pending.

Are you done with the process?

    Any advice?

    Thank you a lot!
