I was wondering if anyone knows a good immigration lawyer for a K1 visa in the USA. My fiance lives in Charleston SC. Hi there, I'm also from Scotland and now here in the States waiting on my adjustment of status. I wouldn't recommend paying for a lawyer. if your case is straight forward just follow the guidelines. In hind sight it is not a difficult process just a lengthy one. VJ is also an excellent source of information and support, so if you have questions this is the place to write where you will no doubt find an answer. It is obviously up to you and I know it can be a scary process at times. What you will need is patience. Good Luck.

I am about to send back my RFE W2s for my co sponser. In my original apllication I sent the "required photocopy of tax return for only the most recent year " However we are wandering whether we should send in the other 2 most recent years even though this part is optional. The other thing is my father in law who is my co sponser received a letter from IRS informing him that he owes them money. He earns way over the poverty line but will this effect him being my co sponser?

I HAD MY MEDICAL IN LONDON. THE ONLY TWO VACCINATIONS THAT WERE REQUIRED WERE THE MMR AND TETNUS (HOPEFULLY I HAVE SPELT THAT CORRECTLY) SO I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE TB VACCINATION.

At last I my can check my process with ead but not aos. At least the RFE told me they had at least looked at it. My father in law who is my joint sponsor is away until the weekend so I'll have to wait until Monday before resubmitting his W2s and then hope they will resume processing my case.

I had my biometrics today, which was quick and easy. However when I got back home in the mail was RFE like many others it was asking me to send W-2 either for my sponsor or joint sponser. In our initial application my husband wrote a letter explaining he hasn't been earning enough to send in tax returns. I wander if we should resubmit another letter along with the W2 or just send in W2s for my joint sponsor.

The other thing the letter said was that I am ineligible for interim employment authorisation until 90 days after the missing evidence is received. If this is a reality and means I won't get my ead for another 90 days then I am seriously pissed. I had a job interview yesterday. I explained that I had my biometrics and will receive my ead soon after possibly about 6 weeks, this did not seem to deter the interview but if I am offered the job and I have to tell them I have to wait another 90 days well I think I can say goodbye to that job.

Ok this is a bit confusing. Are you talking only about a job interview or the AOS interview as well.

You can't start working until you have your EAD anyway, I think it shouldn't take too long for you to get the approval for it. So go with your NOAs so you can show them what your status is, explain your situation and that as soon as you have your EAD you can start working for them.

I think I may have got carried away with the idea that I will soon have my ead. I have my biometrics on Wed and hopefully will hear by the end of October that I have been approved. From October 2002 to May 2003, I travelled in India. I didn't stay anywhere for very long, although I did have an address of a friend where I had letters and packages sent. Should I include this address as my residence?

If not, how should I fill in this period in the residence question? I'm afraid to leave it blank as it might just look like I haven't completed all 5 years.

I actually got the info from our local human services dept, it is something to do with the baby being a USC

Hi, I have just found out that I am pregnant, which is a miracle really, because I have been told I would not be able to conceive, anyway, can I get midicaid. My husband does not have insurance and I've yet to do my biometrics so the possibility of me working is a few months away. My father inlaw is my co sponser, so if I apply for medicaid how will it effect our aos. I am thrilled to be pregnant but I have to admit timing is horrible and I'm used to free healthcare in Scotland. Any advise is more than welcome. Thanks. Karen
