  1. When I applied for my AOS there was a backlog due to the price increase, so it was normal at that time to have a longer wait before NOA. My real problem was that my medical was lost and I reluctantly had to have another one. Ironically, as I am pregnant I was unable to have a chest xray, but I am still approved. I am so happy as my baby is due in 4 weeks. It was a scary thought having a baby without having my greencard. I should also let you know I am female. I lost my password for kax. I rejoined as jerricho using my husbands details

  2. I hate to say this, but I would get the medical redone. I also had a medical in the UK, I didn't have a TB skin test but did have a chest xray. I was told that my original medical got lost. I contacted my congressman who really couldn't do anything as time was running out before my aos was going to be denied. The medical cost me another $220 I am pregnant so didn't have an xray but my TB test came back clear. My case is being held in CSC the last touch I had was 19th march and I still haven't heard anything. I applied for my aos in July so it looks like if you hold off in getting your medical then it could hold up your case.

  3. Hi there Jerricho...

Try not to worry too much. I think the folks at CSC are just running really behind in processing RFE replies. I hope they get yours processed and get your green card out to you before your baby is born! It sounds like you gave them everything they asked for...I would hold onto the delivery confirmation showing when the package was received by them as it seems to be taking a long time for them to open the packages and acknowledge receipt.

My personal theory is they have been losing a lot of medicals lately, thus sending out loads of RFE's for said medicals, thus receiving loads of replies...in the end causing a pile-up in the mail room and a delay in processing. Hopefully they get it sorted out soon (whatever the issue is) and we all get what we have been waiting for so patiently...

    Best wishes,

    Tanya

I sent my RFE medical and know that it was received on 2/27/08 when i checked on line my postal receipt. My cut off date for sending back my RFE was 1st March. Since then, I have not received any touches. I feel slightly anxious that my green card is hanging over me. The medical that I received here in the US did not seem as thorough as the one I had in London, ( I am not complaining) but due to now being 32 weeks pregnant, I was unable to have an xray. The xray I had in London and have with me in the US is out of date. Does anybody know if I still need an Xray once my baby is born. My TB test was negative. Up until my original medical was lost my immigration process was slow but without complications. I just feel vulnerable now that I am due to have a baby born in the US and I don't have my green card yet.

Thankyou for your encouraging reply. I have had a touch today, which may or may not mean something.

  5. Just wanted to let you know that I did contact my husbands congressman and they are waiting to hear from USCI but it doesn't look good. I was told because I only have until the 1st march. there will not be enought time to track my lost medical. Looks like I'll be paying another $200 for another medical. I wish I had the energy to fight because it is an injustice but due to being nearly 7 months pregnant, I am exhausted and just want an easy ride from now on.

  6. For your information, I received a notice yesterday that said with intent to deny. this is due to being requested to have a medical despite already having a full one in the UK and sending I- 693a. I now know that my medical was lost in transit but I also wanted to say that having sent I-693a does not complete I-693 as I was advised by vj members. I will have another medical but because I have my vaccination sheet my medical is only costing $200.

I feel very angry about this as i would not have received my K1 visa without an approved medical. I understand no one cares, but it seems that immigration can get away with anything.

  7. It has been such a long time, since I have been on visajourney but I do have a question. I received an RFE from csc asking for 1693 medical. as i already had a medical in the uk, I presumed I was ok but what they wanted was 1693a supplement. I had an infopass before Christmas the IO was trying to be helpful and told me to do nothing as I had all my paprer work in order, I was not convinced. She then gave me her email address as she was going to contact csc to find out exactly what they wanted from me. I emailed her as requested but did not hear back from her. In the mean time I sent off my 1693a to csc, hoping that is what they requested, however I received an email today from the IO saying that she has received an email from csc stating that many medicals are lost in transit therefore I need too have another medical and send in 1693a. now I am not sure what to do. I feel cheated if I have to get another medical and pay another $500 hopefully they just want the supplement. If I do need another medical will they request one or have I blown my application. I am saying this because it did say on my letter if I did not send what they requested I would be denied.

Wish I could help. I'm in a similar situation as I just received my RFE today saying I need to get another medical because they can't find mind. If you managed to get a copy of your medical that you had done in the UK or if you have a copy of your vaccination record then it is possible to find a USCIS accepted doctor to transcribe your vaccination record to the I-693A - this is what we did and the doctor charged us $25.

I had a uscis doctor transcribe my vaccination record to the I-693a so hopefully this will be enough.

  9. I have had computer problems so I have been a bit out of touch. Anyway I had an infopass last week re my rfe on my medical. The IO was very nice although I'm not sure how helpful she was. She told me that I did not need to do anything as I had my medical in the UK on 30th jan 07. I explained to her that I thought I just needed to send i-693a she insisited I didn't as the form I received with my vaccinations in London was sufficient. She was however kind enough to email CSC asking exactly what they want from me. She thinks they don't know what they are doing and I was to email her this week to find out the reply. I emailed her today, so hopefully I will hear soon. I think if I don't hear from her next week I will just send my vaccination sheet to the Doctor in Texas. Thanks for your support. Karen

  10. I received an email on Friday after having a week of touches stating that I will be receiving an RFE. I feel so upset about it. I'm not sure what they need now. I have already had an RFE asking for W2s which I sent back. The only thing I can think of is that I did not send in my supplementary medical form. I am sure it will be ok but I wanted my greencard before xmas. I know I might be a little more upset due to me being 17 weeks pregnant and I just want to be free from immigration for a few years. Is it normal for csc to ask for an rfe?

  11. On the 16th May my case was transferred to CSC and I received a letter telling me so. However when I checked my status today it read the following:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

Does this mean it has been transferred back to my local office? I'm just unsure. Thanks for any insight.
