  1. It is very bad. This is downtown Olongapo City, next to Subic Bay Freeport where I live.
  2. Yes, still on hold, 2+ years. I just log in to NVC once in a while. I keep a log of the logins, to keep track,
  3. I have not finished watching this but I have to agree with Candace. Hard to believe that this is just USSS incompetence. Also hard to believe that if there is a bigger plan that it could be so sloppy.
  4. I didn't have the guts to post this on FB because 80% of my family have TDS and will vote for Biden or his replacement. Available on Amazon, link below. https://www.amazon.com/Still-Hate-Trump-After-Biden/dp/B0D1Q9G1TC/ref=sr_1_29?crid=3NR6D4XAWXG5D&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.E110rBnLly-xjdEykC-LmbUwjctBG22SfRfX7YOw10Qnhqg6xn-rQ3DTqFwDJqBFvPPA8WW_rAO2NFr3xXILYtWRZtqT-q-2d5VW2f-zHBx31bBNcImwEuI_HaJgjbxmpaROiVWU5PDrlPHcEN83dLVt_pZl0VhsMK1SbwSi_OrUdwxZ4Nl1cSHuiddJ_lHnhyJRoH8PDZfAGvesrEm0ROxZsmtYGCpKTIIrqSH1mKbUv7ioSYr1MKk_u3xa9zLiF1GEHlhowO31b9333H2vzmn-U0H4xUN_pZHaJ6WrLQk.z9PB5AfOS9Y04M01WRytfh7Cs9-6pD4NxedIfV0Ebto&dib_tag=se&keywords=trump+vs+biden+shirt&qid=1719021159&sprefix=trump+shirt+biden%2Caps%2C289&sr=8-29
  5. No, customs clearance is done at Incheon. You should have a delivery soon.
  6. Technically it should have a DEPART O'hare checkpoint and ARRIVE Korea checkpoint, which is usually INCHON. It appears that the package is still in O'hare. Normally envelopes pass through customs immediately and there are no delays in customs.
  7. Very relevant to some. Future predictions: Late this year, NB gives up on October-December romance when babbling Nancy retires to a senior home. NB joins the FB group, "Old car guys seeking hot young chicks". Secretly, dual personality Greta has been a member for a few years. Greta reaches out to NB when he posts a picture of his great big cherry red V8 hot rod. May-December romance proceeds after her first ride on the hot rod. Finally, Greta realizes the error of her other self and becomes the spokesperson for NHRA. They live happily ever after. Alternative ending: NB and Greta meet for the first time. NB glues 4'11" Greta to a telephone pole at about the 8 foot mark.
  8. I'm in tears! 😭 https://www.msn.com/en-ph/lifestyle/other/cnn-philippines-shuts-down-due-to-financial-losses/ar-BB1hoXzr?rc=1&ocid=winp1taskbar&cvid=fc338cf274e149a3a8bf13476041cada&ei=7
  9. That doesn't matter. If you have not done so, you need to get her Social Security # before you file. Usually most people apply for that at the same time as the CRBA.
  10. I think that is the exact message I got. Standard copy / paste probably. However, I agree with Family that to protect yourself, do something concrete that will record your attempt to contact them with date/time. So, if it turns out that they "lost" something, you have proof.
  11. I think we are just rehashing the same things we discussed in this thread in 2022. I just went back and reread the first page.
  12. Yes, I think I took your advice and asked NVC via that channel, and that is when they replied "login only". However, you can never be too safe, so I think next time I login I will send them a question.
  13. At the time I uploaded the DS 260, I did not know much, so I just uploaded it in order to have some activity. Later, I uploaded some things, then deleted them, for some activity. They won't do anything with anything until you do the submission. Your second post was confirmed by an e-mail to NVC. A login is apparently sufficient. I keep a "login log" and check it once in a while.
  14. Yes, still on hold. I just sold my house here in the Philippines and bought another. It will be at least 2 more years on hold. If things don't get better in the U.S., it could be forever. As mentioned, I have not found any cases where cases at NVC were on hold for 5+ years. I see no reason why they would cancel a case unless there is a specific rules about it. I think keeping the case open by logging is rather automated, without human intervention.
  15. @John & Rose @top_secret Guys, I'm trying to give some Philippine expat guys on another forum, some valid information on the Utah Online marriage as it relates to the Philippines. There are a couple of guys who insist the marriage will not be valid for the Philippines. One called the SFO embassy and was given a speech about it not being valid. Other said it is valid, including one who called the the Vancouver embassy. What is the bottom line currently? Is the Utah online marriage valid for some things but not others? E.g. valid for getting ROM? Valid for spouse to get 13a visa for PH? Valid for U.S. Immigration? Appreciate your time!
  16. @Chancy @Adventine Directly to the Philippine experts! Chancy, I just read your embassy review. Thanks for that! It is the only recent IR1/CR1 review with detail. We will do the same some day. You mentioned: I presented a CENOMAR, instead of a CEMAR (Advisory on Marriage). The consulate staff were also fine with it. What will my wife (IR1) need and where do we get it? Soon to be 19 year old never married step daughter (IR2)? I don't see any requirements in the NVC civil docs. My wife and I have been married almost 8 years. She was previously married, with annulment. We have all the paperwork. Thanks so much for saving me time!
  17. This has been discussed many times but I never saw an official answer to it. I contacted NVC, told them our situation (I-130 approved, but need to delay for a year or two due to shipping costs, housing costs, etc.) and asked what is the proper way to postpone our case at NVC. This is their answer. Passing it along. Dear Sir/Madam: Thank you for contacting the National Visa Center (NVC). To keep your case active, do not let more than one year go by without contacting the NVC. The easiest way to keep your case active is to access the Consular Electronic Center (CEAC) at https://ceac.state.gov/iv. Every time you go into your CEAC account, it will update the last contact date. Regards, Romeo | Inquiry Management Department of State CA/VO/DO/NVC LDRM | Lockwood Hills | Contractor DOS - National Visa Center So, it appears: - No need to call - No need to upload a document Just login. Reminder: The DS 260 does need to be submitted within 1 year Update below ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I finally had some time and wrote up a clear (hopefully) summary, perhaps for a pinned post. If you want to ask the admins and they agree to pin it, I will make a new topic with it. Just my way of giving a bit back to VJ, with the help of Family! Proposal for pinned post Topic: Need to delay your case at NVC? Here is the BEST way! After my wife and stepdaughter were approved by USCIS, we received the welcome letters from NVC. We later realized that we are going to have to postpone getting the visas and moving to the U.S. The delay might be one year, two years, or longer. We don’t want to lose the fees we paid and start all over, so we are delaying. I asked here on VJ about how to delay and got good advice from several members. I also asked NVC via the AskNVC web portal. The advice can be slightly confusing, so I am sharing what I have learned. Please note: This only applies to cases that are at NVC. After your case goes to the embassy, this no longer applies. Facts: NVC will keep your case open indefinitely if you contact them once a year. NVC has been known to mistakenly close cases even though there was contact within the required window. It is up to you to prove that you contacted them by providing contact evidence. Regardless of delaying, your DS 260 must be submitted to NVC within one year of your NVC welcome letter. There are three options to contact NVC and keep your delayed case open.By phone. Downsides: Long waits, might be expensive, and you have no paper trail of your contact. Log into your CEAC account. Downsides: This does not work for cases that were submitted by mail, and you have no paper trail of your contact. Use the AskNVC web portal. Only a simple message is required, such as “I need more time for our case. This is my record of annual NVC contact.” Upside: You will receive an immediate automated e-mail record of your contact with NVC including all the communication detail. In the e-mail, it states: “Please retain this email as a record of your contact with NVC”. AskNVC is the BEST option. Just logging into your CEAC account does not provide the safety of having a paper trail of your contact. Logging in does not work for non-electronic cases filed by mail. Keep your NVC automated responses and perhaps keep a tickler file to remind you when to send another annual contact at AskNVC. AskNVC: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html I hope this information will help others who need to safely delay their cases at NVC.
  18. I didn't want to hijack the other thread. There seems to be information that you can get NBI with AKA online. Is that correct? Or only for a renewal?
