I feel bad to say that makes me feel better. But by that I just mean I'm glad I'm not alone in this. Hadn't thought to file the extension for an EAD or that I could, really. Just never expected the interview to take longer than the expiration date of the EAD.
yeah i know we ended up filing 2 months before the date for the renewal , and then we got the notice of action before the expiration date and it says there on the letter it can be used as an extension to show with your old EAD while we wait.

Something definitely must be wrong with our case.
The status of our AOS is still "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" and we filed in February of 2020.
It's crazy, really. My wife's worker authorization which was approved will expire in November. We didn't mean to not check the status, ever. In fact, I would still check the status once a week and it just said the fingerprint status. And we figured like most things that there were delays being caused by COVID and other craziness.
And now that my wife has a job, she's worried her right to work will expire before we've even had our interview. I submitted a formal inquiry and it said I can expect a reply by October 19th. LOL Thanks USCIS.
I know exactly where you are at , i filed in feb 2020 same thing message never changed from fingeprints taken, i have done 3 inquirys they kept giving me a date for a response and nothing , our lawyer is looking into sending an ombudsman since no response has been given, EAD already expire we did filed for renewal but we havent received it yet .
If shes pending her renewal EAD when you receive a the notice of renewal that counts sort of like an extension while she gets her EAD again.

Hi and welcome
I wanted to create a topic about adjustment of status for PARENTS of u.s citizens, i havent had a chance to find one where is only for parents. Wanted to find other people in the same situation and share timelines regardless of their field office or share experiences as we wait for approval or interview.
PD Feb 21 2020
Biometrics cancelled due to covid March 2020
Biometrics completed in August 2020
EAD /SSN received in Sept 2020
No change in status case after that.
Anyone is welcome to join regardless of field office or PD date.

I'm back from my interview. The immigration officer was super nice and tried her best to put me at ease about everything. We went through the basics of the application, added my new job to it and she asked a couple of the 'are you dangerous to the US' questions. She asked a couple questions about how we met and where we got married here and there during the interview. Then she asked if I brought anything new that I want to add to the file and I just handed her a folder with copies from bank accounts, bills etc for her to keep. She didn't really looked at it just told me she will add it to my file and that's it. The servers were down so she couldn't make the changes directly in the computer but said she aims for approving it today. Fingers crossed 😁 I'll definitely sleep good tonight.
The interview took about 15-20 minutes and everyone was super nice there. I've seen 6 couples there this morning and talked to a lawyer who was waiting for his next clients. He said before covid waiting times for your appointment were crazy on some days ( like scheduled for 9 but have to wait till 12) but right now everything works nice and smooth.
Sounds really good !! glad everything went smooth

Does anyone else have this problem: Ever since I did my biometics back in August my status for 485 has been "Update to show fingerprints were taken", never changed to "ready to schedule interview" like many others who did biometics around the same time.
Anyone else in this boat? It's been 137 days since biometrics taken and still on that same status.
Same here ! ... also did biometrics on aug it has the same status nothing has changed

Does anyone know what this mean ? Is this a Status before Interview ??? @Basil123: Did you have this status before interview ?
That usually means that the office who had your case may have way too many cases it can handle so they will send it to another office then that office is going to send you a letter to let you know what office is now taking over your case, it doesn't necessarily mean you're getting an interview right away but maybe your case may move a little faster it all depends where it was sent to.

I have a general question. How long we can stay outside of US if we have valid conditional green card? Also, have valid ( till Aug 2021) travel document .
i believe is the same as the normal green card 6 months , but remember the longer you stay outside of the u.s it will be counted against you whenever you apply for removal of conditions because you should be staying in the u.s the longest time as well as when you file for citizenship these are questions that are in their application , i think the longest i was out of the country while on conditional green card was a month. they may also ask you if you stay out longer the reason for it.

Hi !
Just got a call back from USCIS Tier 2.
Well my question was about having a biometrics appointment next week even though I already have my EAD card with me.The person who called me was surprisingly friendly, after what I've heard here, I was expecting someone to call me yelling and hanging up on me.
Turns out there's not much she can do about my appointment and she strongly suggested for me to show up at biometrics and bring my old notice stamped, the new one as well as the EAD card with me.
That's all, for anyone in this position I think you shouldn't risk it and just go.
Yes me too i got a called back from 'Tier 2 yesterday and she was also nice and she also recommended we just show up and bring everything as well so whoever is in this boat as well im just adding this response so you guys can see tier 2 are basically telling us to go safe by going.

Actually my lawyer advised me to go to the appointment, bring the last appointment letter with the stamp from biometrics. And ask there if it's really needed.
He said it's the safest and best thing to do.
I guess I wanted to talk to a tier 2 agent about this because I feel like I'm taking someone else opportunity to do Biometrics, because I already did mine once. But I will not risk my chances
Thats good to know, yeah im going to wait for my lawyer to speak to uscis and also hear back from tier 2, unless i receive a letter saying my appt was cancelled im def going to show up there with my parents im not taking any risk lol its already been a long wait lol to let it get hurt by this

Same issue here my parents who also have the EAD/AP combo card already since sept 2020 they received a biometrics appt for nov for AP , not sure why i called uscis they put in a request to speak to a tier 2 as well within 7 business day , our lawyer said we shouldn't worry and we shouldn't have to go if they already have it but he will also reach out to uscis , it looks like it might be an error on their part. Ill keep you guys posted if i hear back

It didn't used to be that bad. During 2019 it took about 5-6 months till interview. Compared to others actually quite good but idk Covid changed that pretty much.
Ohh i see yeah i mean i figured covid will slow things down but i feel this center is like going sooo slowww, but we shall keep waiting

yes we filed the i765 again and we just put there that we are still under processing and then they send you the extension letter while you wait for the new to be approved and sent, we still have not received it.
