The OP was referring to the packet of papers which used to be hand-carried to CBP officers at POE in the US.

The K1 processing delays due to COVID and the Schengen travel ban is not actually the main reason that people here recommend CR1 over K1.  COVID just made CR1 even more attractive now.

Many VJ members strongly push for CR1 mainly because of what happens after the visa process.  CR1 visa holders gain permanent resident status immediately upon entry to the US, while K1 still need to go through a lengthy process to adjust status.  Many here realized (sometimes too late) that the huge benefits that come with immediate PR status are worth the few additional months waiting for a CR1 visa.

For people who haven't started the visa process but are ready to get married, can meet anywhere to marry, and can stand to wait a little longer to live together, CR1 would be the superior choice over K1 in any consulate, pandemic or not.

The medical results are submitted to the embassy electronically by the doctor they don’t so hard copy anymore. Don’t worry about it.

The packets are not used much anymore, if at all.  Records are now transmitted electronically.

In Turkey you need to have your medical exam done before the interview date. It is a place in Ankara you go and get it done. It does not take too long, they give appointments almost 3-4 weeks before the interview date. There is nothing to worry about just have all your documents ready and it’ll be fine.
