I hear you - I travel tons and am immunocompromised on top of being allergic to . . . everything. Look on Amazon for Lifestraws (my favorite) and other filtration systems. I keep a set in my go bag for work (next to my epipen)
and everyone wants to buy them off me.
I will look it up. Thank you so much for the suggestion. If you think of anything other suggestions... please send them my way.

K-1 visas are not currently being interviewed at the Casablanca consulate yet due to COVID restrictions. It's unclear as to when they will begin interviewing K-1 cases again. So unfortunately you have a bit of a frustrating wait ahead of you. The only thing worse than a slow moving case is a case that is seemingly stuck with no timeline to move forward. Hopefully they will begin processing K-1s again very soon.
You are indeed correct... it is quite frustrating but it’s out of our hands and so we wait and live in hope that one day we will be together. I just feel sad for our daughter... she needs her father.

My son started traveling the world with us (first wife) before age 1. I wouldn't have had any issues taking him to Morocco. Being up on vaccinations is key (and taking those records with you too). Mexico, England, Italy and Egypt all by age 2.
Our daughter is bottle fed. Being a first time mom, I’m paranoid. I don’t want anything happening to her hence my fears. I worry about the water in Morocco. Yes... she received all her vaccinations for 6 months. I have the booklet. I have the problem... I just worry for her.

It sounds like you have a good "presentation" at the consulate. Like I said if there is anyway to visit again and even be in country at the time of the interview it would be seen as a positive. Even though you can not go with him to the interview, he can take your passport in to show you are there.
It is our hope for us to be there with him and travel with him when he interviews. I am in the process of getting our baby’s passport for travel. I’ll be packing a lot of formula 😁😁😁.
thank you for your response.

The fact that you have met in person multiple times and have a child together is good. I know a lot of people on this forum will say that having a baby together isn't "proof that your relationship is legitimate", but I would say that of the couples I have seen go through Casablanca specifically with a child together, the child always seemed to benefit thier case.
Thank you so much for this insight. We applied in December,2019 and have been waiting for our case to be moved to the embassy. Like many, the struggle is real. It is my hope that the embassy will begin processing. What a great birthday gift to our baby if he is able to be physically here for her first birthday in April. Thank you again for your post.

Hopefully you can spend more time prior to the interview. The consulate is more concerned about age, religion and whether his parents (mother) approve of you.
Time together is a big key in Casa.
It is our hope to meet in February to March in Morocco, But I fear bringing a baby to the country where their healthcare is lacking. He heath is my priority. His parents and extended family approve of me and is accepting of me. Although his parents practice the dominate faith, my fiancé isn’t a believer. Religion has never been a problem between us.

Forgive me for not being not being able to have your response included. I don’t know how to do it. It gives me great anxiety to hear this. My fiancé and I have an age gap of 13 years. I’m the older one. We met towards the end of 2019. Travelled and met three times. First meeting was 7 days and the last two were closer to 3+weeks each visit. Our travels are well documented. We provided copies of our boarding passes and copies of our stamped passports. We also have a daughter now who looks just like him. She’s 6 months and we have documented our conversations in skype and WhatsApp since we have not been able to see each other. I am not sure what else we can do to prove the validity of our relationship. It’s a tough journey thus far.

Thanks for your response.

Hello:
I hear a lot about Casablanca and age gaps. How many years difference would be considered a red flag?
thanks,

Look at me. I applied for K1, i am US shitizen( i will call myself like this because i have no rights whatsoever).
I have 2 US citizen children, did Consular paperwork for them to get Us citizenship, so my K1 mother of 2 US citizens and embassy backed me off million times already, i tried sending them multiple emails etc, nothing worked. The fact that there are citizens, minor children outside of US does not mean anything. They issue in Manila now even tourist visas B1/B2 remotely( and student visas also to foreign filipino) - you dont need to go to embassy, just send documents in and they send you back your foreign filipino passport with a visa back.
The whole story short, after this garbage it is all clear for me what this country is like, i am not on government benefits, i work and make my own money, i paid taxes 40k last year, i care about myself, and this what government do to me US shitizen. I decided not to deal with this nonsense no more, now making docs for Europe, and leaving this crappy country and renouncing US shitizenship, like that.
Btw, my European documents are done already and it took me 6 weeks to get EU passports for both of my kids, NOT a crappy VISA, EU CITIZEN PASSPORTS.
So how about that? They can shove in their US passport, i dont need that anymore. Thanks for your response. I wish you much success as we all travel/navigate this immigration process. My you and your family be reunited on whatever soil makes it possible.

Morocco is not part of the travel ban proclamation.
Yes it is not. When I asked my original question, I wasn’t aware that NIE was specific to certain areas, but now I am aware. I am new to this journey and trying to learn. Thanks everyone for your responses.

Unfortunately that isn't a typical reason to expedite.
Understood. But when the embassy isn’t processing k1 visas but other visas, could this help?
-
So I would qualify for NIE.
i am the USC the petitioner. We have a 5 month old daughter who is a USC, and the beneficiary is in Morocco. Our k1 is stalled at NVC.

Correct, Morocco is not a travel-banned country. So it's not #1. So you issue is solely #2 - they have not resumed processing K-1 visa cases there yet.
You can contact the embassy/consulate to request an expedited/emergency interview if you believe you have a basis for doing so. I don't claim to know what they will or won't accept. Generally pregnancy alone is not a basis (medical complications can be). But i don't make that call.
In your friend's case, they appear to be attempting to do so under an urgent humanitarian basis to see the mother before she (potentially - I'm assuming here) passes. No idea if they will be successful or not...but that's my guess based on what was stated.
No harm in asking for it. Just don't expect (or plan for) a positive outcome so you can be glad if you get one.
There is not a general "alternative"...everybody would be using it if that was the case. They have extremely limited staff right now and can only handle high priority cases.
The general refusal rate would not impact eligibility for an expedited/emergency interview.
Thank for your response. I really appreciate your time and insight. You’re right, prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.
Given that it’s Casablanca and the issues that others have had to endure, I hesitate as it might result in red flags or longer administration review. It’s just frustrating... Our daughter is growing (4 months) and she doesn’t even know her father. Probably thinks he’s the computer, but then again, I’m sure im not the only one here.
Please forgive my tone. I just feel defeated.

There’s two separate issues:
1) Bans based on physical presence within certain countries.
2) Most K and immigrant visa classes not being processed yet by the consulate due to COVID issues.
Is your issue with #1 or #2?
Edit: Pregnancy would not be a basis for an exception to either. Medical needs can be a basis for an emergency appointment, though.
I don’t think Morocco is on the list of banned countries into the USA. And, yes I’m aware of the delay in processing. I was just asking if there are alternatives because of the delay. Another individual said to look into travel exemptions. Would our case qualify and would it hinder the k1 process knowing that Casablanca is one of the high denial rates for k1?
NOTE:
When I was pregnant there was a medical need due to my newly founded blood disorder and it’s impact on the baby. I wrote to have my process expedited because I needed him here to get tested for gene that which is prevalent among people in his region. The letter was included with my petition, but of course, nothing happened and we continue to wait because of Covid.

I don’t think K1 is crucial mission right for nvc to forward to consulates/ embassies.
Yes... that is the overall theme I’m getting from reading the posts in the forums.

Where are you currently?
If location, I’m in Southern California
If regarding process, we heard our petition was approved and sent to NVC. -
Hello everyone:
Our case has stalled at the nvc. We received our no2 and then silence. I had read to contact the nvc to receive our case number, but that too was met with silence. I understand the waiting part as it has been the overall theme for k1 responses here on the forums and don’t apply for cr1. I get it. I was talking to another couple, who is in the same situation and they are applying for travel exemption due to the ailing health of the petitioners mother; however my readings tell me that the exemption only applies to specific professions doctors/students. Am I missing something? I had written a letter stating my situation about being pregnant. Our baby is now 4 months old. Are there any recommendations from this group to help him get here to be with his daughter?
thank you.

Thank you for the information. Feeling like an outcast is no problem... it’s actually quite common in California... specifically Orange County.
We will be ready for what is to come and will provide whatever is necessary. We have done our part and now wait. If we receive a denial then at least that is an answer and we can proceed with getting married.
