Looks like a lot of folks received these biometrics letters in the last few days
June 23rd PD (6 months to date) still waiting on biometrics (reuse/new letter). Hoping for a Christmas miracle...

I just logged into my account and noticed that it looks a bit different. Most importantly, the message that in line with "we arrange for fingerprinting appointment and let you know" is no longer there and instead this is there:
Anyone else in the same situation? Could that message mean (or confirm) that they're actually using the old fingerprints?Same view here. My understanding is that if they reuse the biometrics, a new document will show up in your Documents tab. I filed my case by paper, so I'm unsure if I'll get the document in the mail first, and then online or what - assuming that they do reuse the document to begin with !

So sorry to hear that - I have some family who have a pending 751 and they are agonizing about this wait time as well. I'm not in the same boat, and often times I think I'm being ungrateful since the delay doesn't affect me much...

Technically it starts from date of filing. However, you will find that the estimated date is a moving target that will most likely change up or down with events (such as biometrics, Covid-19, too many cases at local USCIS office) or non events (updates in the system). Best of luck....
Understood, I figured that based on the current processing times and Covid - this is all out of whack anyways. Just trying to keep myself from not going insane...lol

Baltimore is also my processing center. I filed in July 2020, still no biometrics
Yep, mine is 6/23/2020. Based on the processing times, we are almost halfway there (10-13 months for Bmore field office) but I've not heard anything either...so I guess just sit tight is all I can do
-
Stupid question. My filing date is June 23rd, Field office Baltimore, MD. Presently, it's taking 10-13 months per the USCIS processing times page. I have not received any notice for biometrics (new appt, reuse etc.). I put a couple of service requests/calls etc. but no response. It's the usual "case is in suspend till biometrics are done"
My question is - does the 10-13 months time start from filing - or is it only AFTER I get some sort of biometrics movement?
-
Has anybody in the June filers contacted their rep/senator? It's been radio silence and nothing about biometrics except that "it has been entered into a scheduling system". Getting a little antsy but wondering if it's worth reaching out

Did you file a service request? This is so... frustrating
Yes, I'd called Tier 1, gave them the spiel of the ASC reopening and it's been 90 days. So they entered a service request, gave me a confirmation number and told me I'll hear something about it by Nov 3rd, which was 2 weeks. But it only took a couple of days. At least I know that I'm in the queue, but that's about it

Applied June 27th,
NOA on 27th
No update since then, Ugh this wait
Did you contact USCIS about fingerprint scheduling - based on 90 days after ASC reopening?

Good luck.
For what it's worth, my inquiry on 10/19 was responded to today -
Your application is currently in the scheduling queue. We will mail you a notice with the date, time and location for your appointment once it has been scheduled.
What You Can Do
* Ensure that we have your current mailing address;
* Verify that you are registered to receive mail at the address you provided to us;
* Follow any instructions in the appointment notice; and
* Bring a copy of the appointment notice with you to your appointment. -

Yes I did. By mail. No news so far.
Another question for you all. My case number starts with IOE. What does it mean? And how do I know my service center or local field office? Technically I'm in Denver but applied via mail to Arizona. So would denver be my field office? And if so, why does my case say IOE then?
Also, how can I check which date my local field office opened in July?
Thanks a lot.
IOE = Electronic processing center. It's used for N400 and some other forms that can be filed online.
Goto https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office and you'll have options to search for your local field office and ASC (biometrics) using your address zipcode. The mailing address of Arizona is usually for filing physically. For instance I live in MD but I filed to the Texas facility.
Most USCIS offices for ASC opened up on 7/13/, 7/20 or 7/27
Today marked the 90 days since my local ASC opened and I have no update on fingerprints so I called USCIS. Took multiple tries and probably some luck since it was hard to get to an agent.
First time the agent said they could not access the info and asked me to call back again. That was a 30 minute wait. I called a few minutes ago, and I was put in touch with an agent. I repeated the deal about biometrics and ASC reopening within 90 days and she said they will enter a service request. That was entered, and apparently I should hear back about the service request no later than November 3rd. I was provided with a confirmation number as well...and so the wait begins...

How did you contact USCIS, I tried calling I was stuck with the Automated help service. PD: June 04, 2020.
I used Ask Emma. I typed "Live Chat", and then it gives me the options of "case status", then I select biometrics. Finally it then shows the link to connect to a representative. And then I chat with them asking about case status.
Depending on where your ASC is, you may need to wait a few more days. Baltimore opened on 7/20, so 90 days is 18 October....
-
Anyone for the Baltimore field office? I filed June 23rd and have not heard anything since. Last biometrics were done in 2015 for EB greencard so I have low hopes of them being reused. The local field office was opened on 7/27. I've been told to ask 90 days after the reopening, so I that 10/25..in about 10 days now.
-
Did you hear anything regarding your biometrics? My field office is Baltimore, and I filed on June 23rd as well. They simply told me to wait till 90 days after the local ASC reopening.
-
Will do keep you posted ! I can't remember the exact steps. But first I ask for Live Chat, and it usually pops up a topic - which I choose as being biometrics. Then it asks me to enter my case number and eventually I connect after a waiting time...just be mindful that like everything else, the queue number doesnt seem to go sequentially. I missed out chat once since I was 15th, and it went to me first right after while I didn't see it.
-
Yep - I submitted on 23rd June and haven't seen anything since. I spoke to a live rep on USCIS and they said nothing will be updated until I'm scheduled for biometrics. Apparently, I should be scheduled within 90 days of the ASC reopening at the latest - which is 10/27/2020 for my local ASC. Can't do anything but hold tight. They did say if I don't get anything by then, I should call and ask for a service request...

how you reached out to uscis ? did you fill up your application online or paper?
I went to the "Ask Emma" chat on uscis, and initially you have to answer some automated questions, but you can ask them for a "Live representative" and choose "Biometrics". You should be able to connect to a live person. It has a bit of waiting time, but eventually I got thru and got the questions answered !
My application was paper btw

I reached out to USCIS today and spoke to a rep and asked about biometrics, since it's been 60+ days that I have submitted my application. He said that they have entered my information into the system that schedules biometrics at the ASC. He said I needed to allow up to 90 days after the ASC reopened post the COVID shut down, which for my local ASC is 10/27/2020. I should get the biometrics notice by then, and if not, I will need to contact USCIS.
For my sanity, I took a screenshot of the conversation too !

My NOA1 date is 30th of June for my N400 and my online account still says "will update in 48 hours". The old egov.uscis.gov site does not give me the validation error but gives me the usual we received your case etc. I looked around on reddit r/uscis and it seems like people are finally getting some biometrics issued - but still for Feb/March..looks like it will be a long wait

Anyone else getting "User defined error" when checking case status on USCIS website? Yesterday it did not show that error.
Yep - I've been seeing that since a while now..

It happens within 48 hours, at which time you will see the estimated case approval timeline and the timeline for the next step (eg. scheduling of biometrics appt etc)
But it's been almost 10 days now, and there's still no updates...

Hi, I filed on 23rd of June (paper filing) and I got my 797C dated 30th of june and I also have myUscis online account setup.
Currently my online account still says "
You successfully submitted your form
We are processing your form. It can take up to 48 hours for all of your case information to show on your home page."
Any estimates on when their "48" hours will actually be completed?

I logged into the myUscis account and noticed that I now have an Estimated Completion Date saying "August 2021 (8 months)" and a notice saying that "We are taking longer than expected to process your case. You do not need to do anything at this time."
I'd filed via paper in June 2020. No word on biometrics yet
