After DQ and Before the interview at the consulate, we uploaded and submitted our documents that we updated (e.g. police certificate, 2019 tax transcript, my husband's employment certificate). As for our I-864EZ, we only brought the updated version on the interview and did not upload it on ceac just to be prepared. However, In our case, the CO officer didn't ask for a new I-864EZ at the interview.
The documents we uploaded at ceac after DQ remained on "submitted" status even after our interview. My interview was approved and I already have my visa on hand. I was interviewed at Sydney consulate.

Hi, There are 2 kinds of police certificate in Korea:
1) Criminal Records Check Reply and Investigation Records Check Reply - This can be issued as one document titled "Criminal (Investigation) Records Check Reply or as separate documents. You can only obtain this from the local police station in South Korea. Last year, I ask my friend who was still in Korea to get this on my behalf. So i filled up the application form and the power of attorney then I had it authenticated first by the Korean embassy in my country then i gave it to her along with the copy of the passport/passport stamps that i used when i was in South Korea. But now, as far as I know it seems that their policy has changed and they don't release this even if you have the power of attorney.
2) Criminal Records Certificate - This is the one issued by the embassy. All you have to do is to fill up the application form which is available on their website then go to the embassy in person, submit the form along with the other requirements. I used my maiden name for my police certificate but my friend got her certificate with her married name on it (she was not married yet when she lived in Korea). She just gave them a copy of her marriage certificate.
Actually, this is little confusing because on the travel.gov website, they said that for For Foreign national applicants, the Criminal Records Certificate (this is issued by the embassy) is required but i got an RFE at NVC because in the comment section, the title of the certificates that they need should be Criminal Records Check Reply and Investigation Records Check Reply which is issued only at local police stations. So i provided them with both types police certificates.

What is the D-5540 and I-864EZ? I was not advised to complete these... my interview is on Tuesday... do I need to fill these out?
This is for CR1/IR1 visa like what I've mentioned in my post.

How long did it take people to hear back about a decision for their expedite request? They've had mine for over 5 business days, wasn't sure if that's normal? (over 5 days since they acknowledged receipt. Over 9 business days since originally sent)
We submitted our expedite request on July 6, received an email that they're reviewing it on July 10 and finally received the email that the expedite request was accepted on July 16. I received an interview appointment email from the consulate on July 21.

This is the form that you need for the AOS. The main Medical was sent to the consulate directly. You need to carry the for you have received in your hand luggage... along with your X-Ray CD in case they ask for it at POE. You can open THAT envelope.
Thanks.. I won't do AOS as my visa is CR1/IR1. I just called the medical clinic to confirm, what they sent was my personal copy of my vaccination records and yes i can open this. they did not give me an x-ray CD since my all medical results are sent electronically.

You hand it over at the interview. The consulate will
include its contents in the sealed packet you get with your passport.
Thanks.. but this envelope was sent to my home address by the medical clinic. i'm guessing it's the copy of my vaccination records. my medical exam is E-medical which means all results (including x-ray) were sent directly to the consulate. i guess i'll just keep it sealed and let the immigration officer at POE open it.
P.S. I already have my US visa in hand. My interview was on August 11 and i got my passport back on Aug 14, only the passport and a letter (right to reside to US) was sent to me. no yellow packet.

I received a sealed envelope from the clinic where I did my medical exam, i am guessing it contains the vaccination record. Are we supposed to keep it sealed until POE? Thank you so much.

I think passport will be a lot sooner than 2 weeks. They posted mine last night - day my approval came in!

Thanks i hope I'll receive mine very soon. Do they email us when they mail the passports?

Just got my CR1/IR1 visa Approved earlier today at US consulate Sydney. Had my Medical exam on Jul 31, the results were sent to the consulate on Aug 4. The CO just checked my civil docs and asked few questions like when, where and how did we meet. He also asked for some pictures of me and my husband. Finally, he asked when will i finished my PhD.
They check the AOS documents (we used I-864EZ) but did not asked for the DS-5540 (although we submitted it on our ceac account previously).
Now waiting for my passport, which according to the CO, will arrive within 2 weeks.
Goodluck to everyone

Got a police check question; I'm just wondering which police check people have been going with? and why so?
I've already gotten mine (went with the non fingerprint check) but thinking of redoing it and getting the fingercheck as well, after speaking with someone from NZ who has just gone through this process (earlier this year) and was required to grab a police check for his xbox alias.I got mine with fingerprints (taken at a local police station using the blank ink) and I sent it together with my IDs and the AFP application form to their Canberra office. I also included all my "also known as" names in the application form. That's what i submitted at NVC and they accepted it.

As far as I’m aware it’s assumed as 12 months from the date of issue. I have mine and there is no ‘expiry’ date. I believe 12 months is what is talked about on here.
Thanks!

Hi, Just want to ask the expiration of the Australian police certificate? Is it 1 year from the date issued or 6 months?
Thank you.

Quick question, after the case (CR1/IR1) has been expedited for interview, do we need to contact the US consulate to schedule the interview or just wait for their email? Thank you

Hello, our expedite request for interview at US consulate Sydney was approved today (16 July 2020). Few hours later, i got an email from NVC that my immigrant visa interview was cancelled. However, i never received any emails regarding an interview schedule either from the embassy or NVC before. Is this normal when requesting for an expedite interview?
Thank you so much.
