  1. thanks. How do I update the timeline?
  2. I unfortunately did not. I don't travel much so I don't anticipate using up all the pages but will keep this in mind the next time I apply. I got the passport card too. I don't cross land borders very much but I figured I should have it on me as I'm a visible minority and it would be very useful in proving my citizenship status in case ICE agents were to randomly detain me in the future. I did setup an appointment with the SSA to update my status but until I have my Naturalization Certificate back or the US Passport, I don't think I can update my status or can I? 🙂
  3. I wanted to update you all. I successfully passed my N-400 interview and was very surprised to have the same day oath ceremony! I got my naturalization certificate and I'm very happy to be out of the process - finally! I took an attorney with me but they did not need to do anything. The officer was great. She went over every single question on N-400 and was very detail oriented. I was very worried but her demeanor really helped calm my nerves so was very grateful. She did not ask for a single document other than the GC and Driver's license. I had a ton of documents prepped but they were not needed. I already applied for the US passport and registered to vote. I was disappointed that the USPS acceptance agent decided to staple my Naturalization certificate Once I have it back, it is going in a fireproof safe Best of luck to everyone who is still awaiting your interviews.
  4. I spoke to a local attorney sometime ago and they said they will ask me to sign the G-28 and upload it to the portal. I am worried that uploading anything new to the portal so close to my interview date will trigger USCIS to reschedule my interview and it is not something I'd like.
  5. I finally received my interview notice. I am a bit anxious considering all the recent memos. I was curious if I could hire an attorney to accompany me to the interview. Do I need to file some paperwork with USCIS notifying them of this? Will it delay my interview?
  6. thanks. I always had a 0 balance (confirmed twice by IRS agents) but something was off about the account transcript.
  7. Yes, account transcript. Never had issues with the return transcripts. They're good.
  8. Circling back here in case this helps anybody in the future. We sent an electronic payment ($0.17) to the IRS and they took about 10 days to apply it. That seemed to do the trick. It zeroed out the accrued interest and we're all good now.
  9. Hello everybody, My SO and I are planning to file under the 5 year general provision. We were looking through our IRS transcripts and for a particular tax year we noticed that the transcript shows 0 for balance and penalties but has a $0.17 of accrued interest. We called the IRS and they are puzzled and do not see any balance on the account. Two separate agents reassured us that we don't owe any money to them despite what the transcript says. So, what do we do here? Is this going to be an issue? I would love to pay off any balance but according to the agents there is none to be paid off. All other years say 0 for balance, interest and penalties. TIA!
