in the future no binders,  no paper clips,  no staples

USCIS needs to be able to access and scan quickly and they do not bother with things that make the job difficult

make copies of everything you send for your own records

when you get to the NVC stage put your new case # and both names and both DOB's on the upper right hand corner (they have thousands of pages coming in daily and if yours don't come in order but are mixed in with another's , they are lost if not ID'd

On the uscis website it says that using clips is fine.

Telling you to follow USCIS instructions in the future is more than helpful/  you will be doing paperwork for the interview , paperwork for the AOS,  paperwork to get your SS# , paperwork for him to file for selective service,  ROC to extend his green card.   this was the best help you could have gotten from any of us

It was not helpful because I have already sent in the photo book, and also because I explained in my post that I did read and follow the official uscis guidelines. I misunderstood the part about not sending anything that can't be disassembled and that is my fault, but as I said in the post I understand that now and saying I shouldn't have done it isn't helpful because it's already done.

  3. My fiancé and I are applying for the K-1 Visa. He lives in the United Kingdom, I live in New York. We have been together for 2 years and 3 months, and have visited each other's countries a total of 7 times.

My fiancé and I recently sent in our I-129f form. We attached a small 5"x7" softcover photo book with about 20 photos as evidence of our ongoing relationship. Today I received the book back in the mail from uscis. I now feel dumb for sending it because I see that we are not supposed to send any kind of photo book. I saw a few YouTube videos where people sent similar sized photo books so I thought it was fine since it wasn't a big photo album. I read on the official website that they don't accept bulky photo albums but I thought a small, thin, softcover book would be okay.

Now I am worried that we will get an RFE. I know that photos are not required for this stage of the process, but they do help, and now there are no photos attached to our application. We sent in a lot of evidence. We sent boarding passes, flight itineraries, bus passes, passport stamps, receipts, etc that prove we have been together. We also have other secondary information like video chat logs and messages, and we have letters from our family and friends who support our relationship. But I'm worried that not having any photos will delay the process and result in an RFE. I know an RFE isn't the end of the world but we really don't want anything to get delayed. What do you guys think?
