We had this exact same situation happen in our case but we had way more income and way more very liquid, countable US based assets....we had also been married for many years (I was living in Peru with my wife for a long time) but we received the 221g requiring a joint sponsor anyway following the 2 minute interview (CO was handing them out like candy apparently). Anyway, I had one very reluctant sibling; fortunately she came through and agreed in the end (ironically, I was better off financially than the joint sponsor but it is what it is). Had we not had her though, I would still be living in Peru with my wife, which presents you with one other option: you can think about moving to your spouse's country if there are no other available options....

Yeah, not sure why you don't just, as others have said, state your career/employment as "artist" or "digital creator" (for example). I certainly would NOT, if I was you, bring graphic samples of the work to the interview in any sense...some may disagree, but I certainly wouldn't want to get into a constitutional/moral argument during the interview process with a CO who may or may not be "offended" by the work, as it is just not worth the gamble. That said, if asked what type of work you do, say what you do: "artist." If asked what type of art, just be honest: "adult content for 18+" for example. Also, you will have to discontinue your paid work until you receive your work authorization, which will give you time to study the rules/laws regarding the distribution of adult content in the United States.

You can always try, it's the only way you'll know for sure. Be honest with all answers to the questions asked, and as previously said, don't offer information for questions that are not asked. That said, go into the interview hoping for the best but expecting the worst....and keep in mind, these COs see hundreds of people a week that are trying to get a visa fraudulently; they have only your documents and a 2-3 minute window to decide your case....so if it's a denial, don't take it too personally.

I have a Mass firearms ID card from long ago. A lot has changed since then but there was/is 2: a firearms identification card for long guns, and a pistol permit for handguns. Now way, way back, it was fairly easy to get a firearms card (I believe I just went to the city hall and filled out the application). A handgun permit, which you apply for at local police station, is and always has been much more difficult to get and from what I hear as of late, it's getting even more difficult and a lot of police chiefs do not like/even refuse to issue them (and I'm guessing it's a lot more difficult even to get a firearms card for long guns). I'm curious though, if you go through the process, I'd like for you to post back with your experience...

Will your job continue in the US after you move or will you need to be finding a new job in the US (sponsor income must be US based income)? Taxes will be needed (at least last 3 years of tax filings). Also helpful: a residence where you can/will stay - doesn't have to be yours but maybe a relative's? A US state driver's license is also helpful....the biggest thing is showing INTENT to domicile.

Married filing separate, in my opinion, is the easiest and most straight forward approach. As suggested, you can amend it later but you need to see if the differences between MFS vs MFJ filings are worth it.

Yeah, somewhere around 2018/2019 DCF became very difficult if not impossible to do. My wife and I were considering the process during that time and then they changed it....it is what it is. Send an email to the embassy asking, but prepare all your info to file the I-130 through regular means.

OK for US tax filings, you can probably amend for year 2022 and 2023. If I remember correctly, when amending a tax return for change of filing status there is a limited time in which to do that and it varies depending on what status you are changing from/to, but apparently you can change from one status to MFJ within 3 years.

I do exactly the same....every time we travel, I enter the dates and it calculates days in/days out...this is the best way to do it because airline account history seems to disappear after a certain amount of time as do confirmation e-mails, receipts, and memories.

Damn! That pesky whole due process thing 😄. Maybe I'm wrong but me thinks the "vote blue no matter who" crowd is setting themselves up for a giant disappointment followed closely with vengeful anger. On a side note, I'm wondering when the DSM is going to add TDS as an official diagnosis.

I think (though I may be wrong) that this is a pretty standard message they send if the petitioner's address is listed as outside the US. They often send a similar standard message regarding a need for a joint sponsor if you're planning on using only assets for support. Aside from that, the evidence you listed seems pretty good but it doesn't hurt to follow others suggestions for even more.

If you haven't solved this yet, possibly address line 1 is looking for an actual number? Maybe try 000 or 001 Caledonia House.... along with, as someone else mentioned, no spaces in the postal code.

As I mentioned, it appears you have up to a year from the date of the 221g. I would submit everything as soon as you can but once your husband has established a descent amount of proof such as home/rental, driver's license, proof of employment, opening a bank account, etc.

It may help if you outline what was previously submitted to establish or show intent to establish US domicile. Did they keep your passport? Generally, I believe you have up to one year from the date of the refusal to submit the information requested. Does your spouse have any evidence of establishment, or intent to establish such as US bank accounts, registered to vote, driver's license, US based relatives who could provide an "address to stay" upon entry, etc? Also, it wasn't mentioned above but was there any questions regarding sponsorship, US based income, etc., regarding the I-864?
