Please feel free to set us straight then, if those are not factors in the long and common APs for Pakistani applicants. Or are you saying there are not disproportionate rates of AP amongst Pakistanis?
You’re from New Zealand. Why are you posting on a forum for Pakistanis lol

the message has update in US embassy Islamabad website..
seems like they have resumed visa services for spouse and children of US citizens
Visa Services:
The United States Embassy in Islamabad and the Consulate General in Karachi have resumed processing a limited number of student and academic exchange visitor visas but remain unable to provide routine nonimmigrant visa services at this time. The United States Embassy in Islamabad has resumed processing a limited number of immigrant visas primarily for spouses and children of U.S. citizens. We look forward to resuming routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date. Please click here for more information about visa services at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and the Consulate General in Karachi.
did anyone of you all got a interview notice with being in AP or canceled before??
Where do you see this update? I don’t see it on the website

Ah probably they have interview date schedule for other dates to,just not only Oct 13th.i am pretty sure about that.i guess they want to speed up the process cause they were closed for 5 months and they have a big backlog of cases.
Hi when we’re you DQ’d again? Can you please update your timeline? This helps all of us. Thanks!

My case was such. it was my second marriage, and initially at interview they said i was missing a document to prove my first divorce. i was also present at interview, which was a big mistake. they say no one should go to interview but the applicant. anyways, they returned the case to uscis. then it came back for second interview and they said they want more wedding pics, again divorce docs, which we already had at interview and my travel history to pakistan.
Thank you for being transparent! Just wanted to make sure we don’t make some of the mistakes. Praying and iA your case/issues get resolved!

oh ok. I will send another email. we got the remedical email july 24 and we submitted the ds260 on Aug 7th. since then we've emailed twice. I will submit another email
Do you or anyone else mind sharing why their case was sent for AP? Just the thought of it and reading how long it takes for them to process scares me.
Want to do my best to prevent that from happening.

Why? The primary purpose of US embassies overseas is to provide services to American citizens abroad. It makes sense that limited resources would be used on a priority basis. I'm sure the Pakistan embassy in Washington, DC has the same priority to assist Pakistani citizens.
The whole purpose of canceling visa services was because of COVID. People going in for their passport appointments aren’t impacted by COVID?
I’m a US citizen and this doesn’t make sense to me

They ask for originals.
Original documents of petitioner also? I always thought only the beneficiary.
-
For interviews does the beneficiary bring original documents of the petitioner? Such as W2s, tax returns, etc? Or copies?
I know they’re supposed to bring their own original documents but not sure about petitioner documents.

"the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad and U.S. Consulates General in Lahore and Karachi will resume limited in-person passport appointments and notarial services beginning on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. Appointments will be scheduled based on prioritized service needs"
So apparently not resuming routine visa appointments... still...? 😕So they can resume passport appointments but not visa appointments? Such BS smh

I was really hoping that it opens this week
Same! Not sure why they’re delaying it so much. I doubt they’re looking at the COVID cases because from what I heard, the number of cases have gone down significantly in Pakistan.

Not opening this week as per my source. New ambassador coming in September apparently so there’s hope. Pakistan is one of the last embassies to open so I would not expect any news until September.
Your source was correct apparently. Please keep us posted on anything else you hear. Thank you!

Has anyone heard anything from the Islamabad embassy? I don’t understand why they still have it closed. Cases have decreased significantly there.

Anyone waiting for the embassy in Pakistan to reopen? Any updates? Whenever we call them, they provide the same irritating message on the website.

Anyone here from Pakistan recently get an interview? We just got our case approved at NVC for expedited interview, they sent the case to the consulate and it's showing ready on CEAC. Wondering if the Embassy will contact us after they resume normal operation or since it was approved by them for an expedite if they will schedule it sooner. Praying inshaAllah they contact us soon. I even updated our information on the CGI site and tried to schedule an interview but it says no appointments currently available at Islamabad.
Congrats! At least you got your case approved for expedite. If you don’t mind me asking, what reason did you give for expediting?

Hey @Joppike, you had mentioned your wife had an interview a few weeks ago. Can you please let us know all the documents she took with her?
She took only her documents? Or also documents of yours (petitioner's)? And also please let me know if you updated your Tax return on CEAC before interview or if she just took it with her.
Thanks!
