I live in NJ and I have a firearm purchase permit issued by my local pd. ( I’m a hunter )
when I went to purchase a rifle the state police denied because of immigration status.
the gun shop said that maybe because my EAD was expired even if I have the extension letter which he couldn’t understand that was making me legal.I lost 20% to return policy..
now I’m getting my new valid ead, should I be ok? Or it’s because I’m not a permanent resident ?

What documents we need to sent along with 765/131 renewal? I saw one guys sent without photos and got approved, that is odd to me.
Hello @Aadi135,
I sent ONLY form I-765 and I-131 to Vermont this JANUARY.
I’ve received one RFE for each Form asking for two 2x2 passport photos this NOVEMBER.
PS: Last time I asked for renewal I didn’t sent any passport photos. -

The letter is to request your I-485 to be hold on abeyance until adjudication of your pending I-360, In the letter include your Name, Address, Forms # I-485, Case #, Alien # it should be a straight forward letter dear USCIS Officer Enclose is my I-360 receipt as proof of a pending Vawa case, with this letter I will like to request my form I-485, (I-765/I131) to be held on abeyance, etc.... I will also include a copy of your I-485 receipt and copy of your ID for identity verification.....
* Please note the officer can deny I-485 even thought you sent your I-360 if it is deny simply file a new I-485 Package with Vermont Services Center*
Hi @FeDaniela,
I got my interview scheduled for January 2020, my attorney at the time told me not to attend and he wrote a letter saying that I couldn’t attend the interview because I had a family meeting, he said that was to give me time to file for vawa.
I think around February I received a letter from USCIS saying that my I-130 was denied because the reason was not valid.
My I-485 is on “Interview was scheduled” since then and I’ve renewed EADs multiple times under “C9”.
Do you think that my I-485 is still at the local office and when my I-360 is approved they will schedule another interview?

Vermont received my petition on November 19th. Do I have to send the receipt notice to them? To whom? The immigration officer yesterday refused to explain...to be honest, yesterday afternoon I cried no stop for the way she treated me...for no reason at all...
You keep the receipt for your record, the purpose of the receipt is only to inform you that your application was received by the USCIS.
You can download an app (ex: Case tracker, Lawfully) where you can add the receipt number and monitor so you know if there’s an update in case the mail gets lost.
After the forms are sent and received by USCIS, try to stay busy and don’t think much about it.(LESS ANXIETY)Here at VJ we’re seeing 2 years for the I-360 and 2.5 years for I-485.
Good luck 🍀

Hello friends,
today I’ve received the RFEs for my i-765 and i-131 renewal.
both RFEs were for 2x passport pictures
On the last renewal I didn’t send any photos and was approved. Maybe it’s because now it’s 2 years.
Cant wait for the 2 year EAD+AP 🤩 -

Good afternoon,
I got an update on my January 2021 EAD and AP renewal.
Both went from Received and Fees waived to RFE..
I send the same documents as past renewal.
What RFE could they send on a I-765(c9) and I-131?
Edit: My EAD automatic extension expires in December, after I answer their RFE how long do they take to process?

Did you file form I-765 using the category C9?. They will issue category C31 just if youR Vawa was approved, and if you checked the option to receive your EAD category C31.
Yes I used category C9 to ask for renewal.

Good evening family,
I applied to renew my EAD on January 2021 exactly 6 months before expiration date.
Now my automatic extension expires in December and I’m starting to get anxious..
Last time I applied for renewal it took 3 months.can it be that they want to send me c31?(I’m Jan 2020)
Does someone knows what’s going on?

Good afternoon everyone,
I got married in 2018 and with all the processes and because of the pandemia I haven’t divorced yet.
I went to an attorney to divorce.
He recommended to wait for the uscis decision in case they would send me an rfe, he would send a divorce for abuse which would be more difficult for my ex to sign and more expensive for me.
In case my vawa just gets approved as is I would just divorce regularly.
Now I’ve received a pre approval(limited time) for a mortgage and I would really like to buy my own house.
what do you guys think ? Am I safe? Can my ex get something even if we’ve been separeted for over a year?

Because Special Immigrants only have 9.000 applications pending vs. VAWA having 34,000 pending

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/reports/I360_VAWA_performancedata_fy2021_qtr2.pdf
if you look at the numbers something happened in 2020 there were 40,000 Applications approved for special immigrants.Vawa instead has only a steady grow on pending cases which is not good for us.
also the denial % is way up for vawa applicants.
so I think I doesn’t really justify the processing times.

Hi Everyone. I am hoping you can help me. I am currently experiencing negative events in my life right now that are both emotionally draining and psychologically challenging. It is taking a toll in my health. In summary, I am the applicant and married to a USC spouse. Although we have been together for 10 years, we have only been married in the last 6 months. We filed I-130, I-485/I-131/I-765 in June 2021. I am in a same-sex relationship and is a victim of emotional abuse. This includes telling me what I can and cannot do (eg cannot watch TV, cannot drive a car, controlling the food that I eat) and threatening immigration action since I do not have status in the US). We used to live overseas for 9 years and moved to the US after marriage. No judgment please: If you are wondering why I have stayed in the relationship for 10 years and even agreed to get married 6 months ago, it is because of love and I can’t really explain why other than I fear for what will happen if I end it. The situation just became worst when we moved to the US as I do not have any family or friends here. They are all back home outside the US.
Question 1: If I file for I-360, what happens to the i-485/i-131/i-765 that is attached with i-130 that was filed in June? This will become void, correct?
Question 2: If I file for I-360, do I have to start over again and refile the i-485/i-131/i-765 concurrently?
I would like to know if I should just continue to take the emotional abuse or if I have the option to running away and hiding. Please provide some advice.
If you can endure than just wait for the I-130 and after you get your conditional green card you can leave and later apply for the permanent gc by proving your good faith...If you can’t endure just file for the I-360 as soon as possible and gather as much proof as you can. (You can keep I-485, I-765 and I-131)
So you have an idea I applied like you on March 2019 and got my interview letter for November and sadly things went really wrong and I felt forced to apply for vawa on Jan 2020.
Now we are in August 2021 and I’ve no clue about when I’m going to get my green card and it looks like it’s pretty normal here for people to wait 2,3 or 4 years.
the regular process would had taken 1 year for me.
when you have an us citizen on your side it’s a lot different than when you’re by yourself, after you’ve been abused by your spouse you’ll feel forgotten and mistrusted by the state.wish you the best!

Yes mine till now is still showing interview scheduled since 2019 so I don't think you should be worried about that, if I may ask you when did you file for I-360 vawa and when was your interview date for your previous i-485
Mine is also on “Interview was scheduled” since November 2019, I hope it’ll update after my I-360 gets approved.
I’m January 2020, I’m waiting patiently!

Your I-797c Receipt only serve as an extension only for your Work permit NOT for the Advance parole, if you travelled outside USA you will not be able to reenter.
Thank you so much for your answer!
It’s a little awkward that they give you a combo card and when it expires the extension is only valid for the work permit but they make the rules..
Not to say that right now it’s taking so long the renewal that almost for sure your work permit is going to expire.
I don’t know you but I hate going to places and having to explain with the paper receipt that the card is still valid ...

If I remember correctly I did for my I-485 a long time ago.
I applied I-485 + I-130 on March 2019 and then applied I-360 on January 2020
