You raised a few points which somehow answer the question to your worry. Decision was not reached because she wants to do further background check with regards to your marriage. Don’t be surprised if they reach out to your ex spouse. She mentioned to make sure you did not initiate divorce before your i751 etc. Just hang tight and wait to hear from them.

Ugh what? USCIS would reach out to my ex? What if he doesn’t have nice things to say about me?

  2. Hi friends,

wanted to get your thoughts on the outcome of my interview yesterday. Here’s a brief summary:

arrived just before the appointment time but waited about 45 minutes to be called as my officer was behind on schedule.

Passed the civics and English tests.

she asked about violations of law, I asked if a small car accident counts. She said that doesn’t matter.

Then she asked about my previous marriage date, divorce date. ( I’m 5 year rule, divorced 8 months after I751 approval. Divorce took 2 months) she was surprised my divorce was this quick and asked me again to make sure we didn’t initiate divorce in the previous year. I said no it only took two months to finalize after the initiation of divorce. She also said that she doesn’t want to be intrusive but did ask why we divorced. I said we grew apart and the pandemic put a strain on the relationship. She said ok that’s sufficient. During this time she was checking on her computer a lot, she also had my whole A file, was looking at my I 751, and she typed a lot on the computer.

then she moved on to ask some other yes/no questions, and asked me to sign on iPad as well as on a piece of paper.

Lastly she gave me the interview results: she checked passed the test, and decision cannot be made.

she said the reason she checked that is because I have to come back for my oath. She reminded me I have to bring oath letter and green card to the ceremony. And she said it twice. She also said she doesn’t need anything else from me.

Then she was clicking a lot on her computer and said: I’m behind on schedule, my next interviewee is already here but I just want to finish your case. And she clicked more. After that she walked me out of their office.

This whole thing took about 20 minutes. My lawyer wasn’t there but he thinks the whole thing went as expected. And there’s nothing wrong with my divorce timeline.

but I’m just confused, and perhaps bummed too that she said decision cannot be made because I have to come back for the ceremony??? Like couldn’t she just checked the “congratulations” box?

I guess I was hoping to get approved on the spot and at least placed in line for oath.

    but do y’all think?

Congratulations! :) How did you get Emma to tell you this information? Every time I tried it would just give me links to check case status etc. instead of expanding on anything I ask.

You can type “live chat”, and then click on it and you will be connected to an agent. But if there’s no new info, they will just give you the most basic information that you already know.

Hi, all. I had a test and interview today (7/14/2023) and it went well. We found two little mistakes on N400 form I submitted online throughout the interview and the officer was able to fix it with no problem. However, an office handed to me a form that have a few sections marked “passed test” and “a decision cannot be made yet”. I would have assumed, as I had submitted all the documents we needed and everything went smoothly, my application would be recommended for approval. Has any of you had same experience? I had my text and interview at Washington DC field office in VA.
    thanks!

Hi, do you mind sharing your timeline? I’m in the same field office as you

  5. Hi all,

wanted to create a thread for the recent Washington DC (Fairfax, VA) filers.

My timeline is in the signature below. As of today, it's been 122 days (4 months) since my bio appointment. I am still waiting to be get an interview notice. From the limited amount of data points I see across the internet, people usually get schedule within 4 months for DC field office. I see people who filed after I did getting interview date. So i am getting pretty anxious but understand there's nothing i can do at this point but wait. Hoping DC filers can chime in here. Thanks in advance!

90mins sounds long for biometric appointment. Too many people?

What was the 'code' in your biometric notice? That kind of drives what fingers they have to collect. Code 1 is for all the fingers, 2 is for index, 5 is for four fingers or something like that

They do it by groups, 20 each group, and they call the next 20 people after every one in the previous group is done with the appointment. I think that’s why it was taking longer.

    Interesting! Mine says code 5!

Filed online Feb 2, three-year rule.  Albuquerque USCIS office.  Notice of application received Feb 2.  Notice of biometrics Feb 4.  Biometrics completed Feb 23, per appointment.  Notice of interview appointment issued today, March 1.  Interview scheduled for April 6.  Never conceived things would move this quickly.

    This is fast! Congrats!

Thank you, I havent received the access code yet. I was scheduled for bio and waiting for the notice as well, I was hoping they will wave it but its ok.

They should come soon, have you signed up for the USPS Informed Delivery? That way you can see what's coming in the mail everyday. Yeah I was hoping they waived mine but my appointment is on 3/9. I just updated my signature with my timeline. hope that helps. I heard that if you last bio appointment was long time ago, they will schedule you to come in and do it again.
