I'm WAC, haven't heard anything since biometrics in January. My window opens on June 27, I'll probably apply next week or right after July 4. I don't personally care about a combo interview, we're not too far from the local office and my husband can take a few hours off work.

The only thing to keep in mind on the short term is a defenite delay for your i751 as n400 interviews backlog is big

I certainly hope they get a bailout. I've contacted one Senator and our congressperson about how a lack of bailout would affect us personally as well as millions of others.

That's nice to hear that you have some movement on your case though. Hopefully the combo interview isn't too painful for you!

Seems like 2019 is on hold now and they back on approving old 2018 filers

Received a response from USCIS about I751 being out of normal processing time... “your case is at the Mount Laurel, NJ office and is currently in line to be scheduled for an interview. The amount of time your case will remain at this step depends upon the number of cases ahead of yours. We hope this information is helpful and appreciate your patience.”

So nothing new from case inquiry.

Thats good news now the waiting game contiunes atleast you know where is your file

Did the webdite also mentioned its in local office ? Or only your inquiry revelad this info ?

This is soo crazy. Tier -2 agent said , file was transferred to NBC and then transferred back to California service center. All this happened in just 2 days. Don’t know why they do it, transfer to NBC and then back to California for just 1 day .

Maybe internal thing where it go transfered but it seems like its at your local office now

The i-751 is a very simple form, it really doesn't require a whole lot to remove the conditions so the form doesn't ask for much and apart from the typical evidence of bonafide marriage there really isn't many other requirements. Obviously the N-400 is more indept and has many more questions. The evidence of bonafide marriage was about the same for me on both petitions, just slightly less with the N-400. And with this petition I know I will have an interview in the end, so there's always that extra chance to bring even more evidence.

This was the first time I filed anything online, and I was pleasantly surprised. Before I created an account and started filling out the online form, I went through the paper form to get an idea of things that would be asked for. That was a mistake, the paper form looked so difficult to fill out, and so many things that didn't even apply to me at all. It just gave me anxiety.

Then I finally started filling out the online form and it proved to be so easy, so many questions that you never even see because the online form removes stuff that doesn't apply to you. And instead of a xx pages long paper form with a really bad layout that easily makes you confused, you just get one or two questions on each page, making it so much easier to see everything clearly and it's much less cluttered (I feel like all USCIS paper forms are so cluttered and the questions are so cramped together and blah).

My recommendation to you is to start the online application now, today, this minute. You obviously don't submit until you're ready, the online form gives you all the time you need. The info you fill out will be saved for 30 days, then if you need more time you just change something small on the form and save, and your 30 days will start over. Don't forget to change that info back though, so it's correct. So yeah, you can take as much time as you need.

Had I known how easy and smooth it was to start the application and just leave it there until I was ready to submit it, I would've started as soon as I became eligible instead of staring at that horrible paper form.

I personally didn't have any issues with my uploads but it's a well-known issue, yes. I tried to minimize the risk of anything going wrong by using Microsoft Edge browser, and I made sure to upload everything right before clicking "submit". I also uploaded every single "required document" twice. I first uploaded them under the specific categories where they should be uploaded (like the greencard has one upload area, the old divorce decree has one upload area etc) and then I also uploaded those same documents under the "additional evidence" as well.

So in case the documents disappeared from the "required documents" upload area, then hopefully they would still be saved under "additional documents". Since all my uploads were successful there are now double of some of the documents. But rather that than none. 😁

    Hope this helps!

Did u file evidence of bona fide marridge or only divorce decree

So the letter finally arrived, my case was also sent to the NBC. Kind of frustrating since they still had the option to adjust it in Vermont, but it is what it is. Here’s to another 3-6 months of waiting.

Some transfeted to nbc due to n400 some transfered to nbc for extended review and very little approval  rate been done at nbc which nornally prepares your file to local office or sends rfe

In each case once if transfered to nbc its definetly slowing the process

That is exactly what I thought when I saw about the rumors last month. USCIS been diverging funds and manpower to ICE throughout the last 3 years and that is why some left, and the increase in processing time. Anyway, The house will bail them, and the senate more likely to approve funds, not necessary 1.5B, but something to keep them going since can you imagine the backlash senators will get when citizens can't process their spouses visas? Plus, the burden they will put on states on when they force them to pay unemployment for +20K employee?

The thing is, Immigration Courts are backlogged, and Judges can't grant immigration benefits, so it has to be USCIS. Thus, they will either keep staff, or reduce staff and be forced to skim over applications to get it going. There is no way they will increase the processing time by +50%, that is not feasible

Judge can grant you the benefits if deportation orders are expelled uscis will then grant the gc

Any ways seems like past week they been slowing down so i am expecting the backlog to increase

    Hi

how did you get notification that it was moved? As case tracker app

doesn’t show it...received mail notice? Or if called it May be not 100%... as I called a lot of times and always get different answers, like 1) case at SRC; 2) case at local field office; 3) case at NBC since last September... craziness

    tracking number SRC1990481xxx

They let me know over the phone

Now i been told its transfered and pending investigation  heck what that means

September 2019 filer here, case assigned to VSC.  Our case hasn't been transferred yet but a few case numbers near ours have been transferred - not sure where they went, it just says "transferred to an office that has jurisdiction" - could that be the local field offices for interviews, or NBC?

If our case does get transferred, I'm wondering if we should put off applying for N-400 in September like we were planning.  Part of me thinks we should just apply as soon as we can to get in the queue as early as possible, but if our I-751 is transferred to NBC or anywhere other than the local office, it seems that applying for N-400 might slow down both processes?  In which case maybe we should just wait.   Field office is Hartford, CT if it makes any difference.

Yes it will slow yoyr i751 but overall accelerate your path to becoming a citizen as u will have a combo interview

    Good luck

My I751 case was moved to NBC early May 2020 and I have no idea how long the wait will be for. It looks like the lucky ones whose files were transferred to local offices have had better luck.

Can we all share our experiences and timelines here. My case number is SRC1990546XXX. Lots of case numbers before and  after mine have been adjudicated. I don't see any logic to follow here except that local offices and field offices have different work speeds.

Wishing you all the best :)

    Same here

Mined been transfered withoht notice just sift update april 21

You are right about us will be waiting longer seems that cases that stayed in src or moved to local office were adjusted

I am expecting it to sit there atleast 4 months before anothet movment on my case

Our request to remove conditions was approved on 6/10/2020. It says that that they will be sending an approval notice and to follow the instructions in the notice... anyone know what that we have to do after we get the notice? For my spouse yes but unfortunately we are probably getting a divorce but I still want to keep my GC (I caught my husband having an online relationship with an asian girl , this is also one of the reasons I left)

Seems like a bad start for your green card

You are at risk of losing it

The more time you spend outside of the usa

U need to think whats more important and make a decsision

But having a green card for only 4 moonths and be outside of the usa for such a long time plus a divorce makes your case very hard

When I first applied for my I-485 I was told by my attorney that I would have to wait until I received the employment authorization card in order to renew my driver's license.  However, after doing some research I found the DMV's acceptable documents form and that said that the I-797 form (notice of action) for the pending I-485 was enough.  I went in with all those documents, along with a printout of the DMV's page that stated these rules expecting some questions, but the DMV worker went ahead and processed the license without asking me any questions.

I was under the impression that the extension letter served the same purpose as the stamp.  If you have some time to spare and you can find a DMV office that's open, you might want to give it a try.

The link I saved to the DMV doc no longer works, so I'm not sure if anything has changed since then (I did this in 2017).

    This is old, but on page 5 you'll see "I-797 for I-751" : https://www.immigrationlawmiami.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/1600525/2020/05/Acceptable-documents-for-noncitizens-to-obtain-a-driver-s-license.pdf

From DMV's website, shows I-797, however, it only mentions refugee status which is odd: https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/what-to-bring/immigrant/

And I can't seem to find my original post on this topic, but a search brings up someone else's comment where they copied and pasted what I wrote:

For anyone reading this who is in Florida - contrary to what the DMV website says, you CAN get a drivers license before receiving your EAD.  Even my attorney told me the same thing.  However, I did some research and found the DMV's "Acceptable Documents Table" and on page 13 under the section titled "I-797 for I-130 Pending" it states that a pending application is enough to get a license valid for 1 year.  I went to the DMV with this page printed out as well as all the required documents.  My wife came with me and brought her passport since it says they require evidence of petitioner's status.  I was expecting the DMV worker to have no idea about this rule, however, he barely looked at the page I printed out and proceeded to ask for all the required documents without question.  I have an expired Florida license, but I don't think that makes any difference.  They do not give you an actual license right then and there.  Instead, they print a slip out that serves as a temporary driving permit which can be used immediately, and is valid for 60 days.  You would need some kind of picture ID along with this in case you get pulled over since the permit does not have a picture on it.  If you enter your license number on the DMV's license check website, it shows as a valid license.  It also says  "Thank you for your recent driver license application. We are currently verifying your legal presence. Please allow 60 days from your application date before contacting us."  The DMV worker told me that if I didn't receive the license by day 50, I should come back to the DMV.  He scanned all the supporting documents so I'm assuming that someone has to manually verify the information before issuing a license.  I hope this helps someone else, as not even my attorney knew about this rule.

I did go to three dmv offices past year and got rejected each time with i797

My attorney dif say the same as yours

But i am cluless and pissed at this point

Why did you need a stamp? My understanding is that they only do it if your extension letter is expiring in the next 30 days.

Florida wont issue me an id or drivet licence as they wont accept the 18 months extension letter

I have been without an id for over a year now

Mind u that if legal authorties wants my id and i show them a passpoty i look very shady to them
