  1. A loooooooooooot of marriages between couples from the same country dont last 4 years. Why some people expect a marriage between a USc and a foreigner should be any different? things happen, none is perfect. Even people from the same family, dont get along, fight and end their relationships. What i see from lots of posts is that an alien spouse is always guilty ( of fraud ) untill proven otherwise.

  2. I am guesing more terrorism related than immigration fraud.

I dont think they think it's an immigration fraud, as like i said before, i had my 10 years GC 2 years ago, and i could have waitted just another year to file based on 5 years residency. They know that if i left my wife the same day i got my 10 years GC, nothing would happen to me '' immigration-wise''. I mean i could still have the 10 years GC and i could still apply for naturalization easily. I barely go to the mosque one time every week, and i know a couple Morocco Muslims that i ve not seen since the end of last year. Although going to the mosque and being with Muslims shouldnt be a red flag, terrorism doesnt have a religion, there are terrorists who are christians or jewish... but that doesnt mean every christian and jew should be a suspect. :ot2: Whatever the reason was i'm not worried, at least i know that they are working on my file and it's not just sitting somewhere in the office. :D

  3. Most Terrorists on the watchlist are Muslim radical fanatics. I Still Claim your real name is a match on the watchlist. There's a terrorist out there with your same name.

My first name is a common arabic/islamic name, my last name is not. There's one Moroccan Muslim family with the same last name, who lives in the same city i came from, the other family who has the same last name is a Moroccan Jewish family that lives way far in the North of Morocco. I dont think it's my name, as why then it didnt come up during the AOS or ROC? or even during the biometrics which i had done last January after applying for N400. I had biometrics on 01/09/12 and they sent me the interview letter on 01/20/12, that was fast i think. We all know that they send the fingerprints and info to the FBI after we go for our biometrics appointments, so if there was something to do with my name being same as a terrorist's it would take forever for them to send me the interview letter, i mean everything was good and clear about me that i got it fast. We dont know what was the reason, i didnt mind them coming, they can come everyday if they want and it's ok with me. It's just the experience with the IO during the interview. he wanted to see my wallet, he asked for my bank card. He didnt give me time to ask anything after giving me the RFE, in fact he was by the door waitting for me to stand up and leave. What if i had all what was in the RFE document? he didnt ask me if i had them or not before making his decision. i was pulling documents from our household when he already printed the RFE and then i saw him standing by the door. My wife told me to file a complaint against him, i really hope that the interview was recorded.

  4. I am guesing more terrorism related than immigration fraud.

I thought about that too, since the IO during the interview asked me about my religion and if my wife, her children and i practice i. I dont think he should ask about the religion, my wife said that too. What does the religion has to do with naturalization? i dont know. I have some moroccan friends who went thru the naturalization process, none asked them about their religion and if they practice it.

Thank you everyone for your replies, support and wishes. My best wishes for you all

  5. While I have been reading these posts, it occurs to me that you should feel proud. You have just participated in an opportunity to represent your family, and the country that you came from. In these trying times, we Americans sometimes have to go through the discomfort of analysis, if you will, to contribute to the entire good of our country. As an example, little children, people in wheel chairs, and well respected people are being searched by TSA agents, and in order to just open a bank account, we have to jump through a number of requirements. I remember when a child could open a savings account at a bank, and everyone was happy to help. Not any more. We must protect our country! Many people who have received their citizenship in this country have gone on to betray us by killing other Americans, or allowing others to use their identification in order to come into our country illegally.

Feel proud, my new American friend. Patriotism will flourish when we act as one.

I do, and i dont mind following the law. I love where i came from and i love where i'm now.

Is it normal for homeland security to make a home visit like this?

I heard it happend to some people during Adjustment of status, but never heard about it during Naturalization.

  6. That is very strange. I think you are only the seocnd person I heard of getting a house call for naturalisation. And then they come all the way out and don;t even look around, or ask any probing questions! It's good that they saw both of you though, hopefully that will put their minds at rest and you will finally get approved.

BTW, your interview write-up is here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/336744-n-400-november-2011-filers/page__view__findpost__p__5170500

I think the interviewer flagged my file somehow, whatever the reason. Thank you i couldnt find my previous post.

Sorry to hear what happened to you. It is better to be upfront and have them inspect any way. Looks like you have nothing to hide. I am sure your application will be approved soon and you'll become USC. Hang in there.

Thank you :), i learnt to be patient, so we'll see.

  7. Yesterday morning around 9 am, i was still in the bedroom when my wife came and said there are two gentelmen by the door asking about me. She said they showed her their badges. I went out of the bedroom and there were standing inside by the door. One of them showed his badge. The other was holding a thick file, later i knew it was mine. He asked to see our IDs, and then asked me if i was married before ( NO) when did i come to the US, what was my status back then ( K1 ), how many bedrooms are there in our apartment, he asked: did you get married during the 90 days period, i said yes and told him the date of our marriage. He then thanked me and said that was it, and they left.

I was trying to find the post i wrote about my naturalization interview, but somehow, for some reason the admins deleted it ( i am not sure ). During my interview which i didnt feel i was treated with respect and felt like a suspect a crime. i passed the tests, the interviewer asked what's my religion and if i practice it, if my wife and her kids believe in it and practice too (no), he asked why did i apply for the naturalization this early,???!!!!! He kept staring at me in a weird way while he was typing something. He then asked to see if i have more IDs than what i showed him, he asked if i had a wallet, i pulled it out, it was in my hand and he was trying to look at what was inside, he saw my bank card and wanted to see it, i gave it to him. He asked to see if i have documents from our household, i was starting giving him what i had, when he put them on his desk ( without reading them), he gave me a document he printed and stood up telling me, that i need to send some documents. I asked him which ones , he said: bank statments, pay stubs... i was trying to read what was in the paper he gave me and to gather my stuff in the same time, when he was already opening the door and waitting for me. He didnt give me a chance to read and ask if i didnt understand something...

While i was in my car, i read it and it said that they want me to send document proving i had been living in the US since the year i got my 10 years GC.

I dont have anything to hide, i have clean records here and back home. I ve never had a problem with the law or anything like that. I came here legaly, married my USc wife, filed for AOS, ROC and i got my 10 yrs GC on october 2010. I'm married to the same USc. The interviewer doesnt have any reason to treat me like that or to treat me like i'm a marriage fraud suspect,i know his job is to be ''suspecious'' i can understand that if this is the AOS. If my interest was the GC i would have left my wife 2 years ago and i would still be eligible to file for naturalization next year.

Again i have never had any troubles with the immigration nor any branch of law. I spent most of the 4 years in this country between my home and my work I know it's big deal for any country to give you its citizenship, but there lots of people who got it fast and easy, and i thought i already passed the hard parts of the immigration journey: visa, aos, roc. Anyway, i just wanted to share what happend, and i wish you a better smooth experience :)

  8. OK, so you know they want paystubs and bank statements to see that you were working (and living) in the USA between September 2010 and now.

    That should be easy.

When you sent this documentation on the 6th, did you send it via certified mail? In that case you could track it on the USPS website and you would know when exactly USCIS received it.

You could also schedule an InfoPass appointment right now to 1. find out if they received your extra evidence and 2. if this is now sufficient to process your case.

    Be persistent, but be polite.

    Good luck!

Thank you, yes i sent it via certified mail, it was delivered on March 7. I called their custmor service and they told me to wait 60 days. I'll wait and see, if no response after 20 days i'll try an infopass. Thank you again for replying.

  9. Assuming you filed based on 3 years of residence married to a US citizen, USCIS will scrutinize your marriage again - as if it were your first K1, K3, CR1 or whatever visa.

USCIS doesn't consider what they heard from you two years ago, for RoC - or what they heard from you 4 years ago, for AoS.

That is one reason why I waited until well past my five years of residence, so that I wouldn't have to prove to USCIS that I am still married to my same US-citizen husband.

I strongly recommend for everybody to simply wait until the 5 years are over.

Of course this doesn't help your case now, since you already had your interview.

The IO's question about "any document from your home" sounds to me like he wanted to see more proof of you and your spouse still living together in the same home.

So maybe utility bills with both your names and the same address on it, bank statements showing both your names and the same address, or similar documents.

Mortgage for your house (if you own) or your lease contract (if you rent) showing both your spouse's and your name on it would help.

Did you bring your tax transcripts for the past three years?

Do you have children? Their birth certificates can help.

What exactly did the IO tell you to send? What exactly does it say on the "paper he printed" that you received when you had your interview?

I suggest you schedule an InfoPass appointment and bring copies of all the documentation that your IO requested on the "paper he printed".

Bringing your US-citizen spouse (and any children you two may have) with you to that InfoPass appointment can help.

You're almost done - hang in there.

I know naturalization is different than K1 and AOS but i dont think it's harder to deal with as the other two. When he suddenly stood up, giving me the paper he printed ( and was already by the door while i was still gathering my stuff), he told me to send paystubs, bank statments from Chase ( as he checked my Chase bank card) and 2011 tax returns. When i was giving him documents earlier ( that he didnt even look at) there were the last 3 years tax transcripts.

When i had a chance to look at the paper he gave me, it says: "Please submit documentary evidence establishing that you resided in the United States from September,2010 untill now ". September 2010 is when i got my 10 years GC. I'm not worrying about the decision, i just thought they would send me an email or letter saying they received what i sent.

  10. Trying to think of places with long lines, if you don't have all the required information, tell you to get it and go to the rear of the line. USCIS certainly works that way, way back at the end of the line Learned this from the group we formed with others going through the immigration process, before getting on this board. Can't bring in enough evidence or you go back to the line.

But did you forget to bring in required evidence or have a mean old nasty IO that wants you to prove you have joint ownership of say a ten buck toaster? I believe that 120 wait between your interview and oath ceremony only holds true if you passed your interview. But who am I to say, practically any law or regulation we have in this country is opened to interpretation, judges and attorneys love that, can make a lot more money. Your money.

If you failed to bring in required evidence, have no choice but to wait. But on the other hand, they want proof you paid a 40 year old parking ticket, have good reason to contact your senators office. If you failed to bring in required evidence, your senator cannot help you.

In legal terms, a huge difference exists between the words OR or AND, but that doesn't hole true with that one IO you have to deal with.

When i filed the N400, i sent what they asked for. When i went to the interview, i took all what i have. At the end after asking to see what i have in my wallet and all the weird stuff, he asked to see any document from ''my home'', i handed to him couple papers and was going to take more out of my file i brought with me, he already was printing something and told me he needs me to send some document, he took what i gave to him, and he even didnt read or see what they are, he put them on the table and gave me the paper he printed, he was in rush, and i think he already made his decision even before i stepped in. I'm still married to the same USc, more than 4 years now,i have everything that proves it and they knew that, otherwise i wouldnt get 2 years and then 10 years card.

  11. Hmm!! that's weird. Did your IO made you sign paperwork after interview? did he/she say something like " that is going to be on your naturalize certificate"? Did IO said, when next oath ceremony going to be? because mine IO asked me to go over the paperwork and she wanted me to make sure everything is correct on the form and made me signed and she further said " this is going to be on your naturalize cert". But then she wanted to see some additional documents to make a decision. She further said " oath ceremony for January is already filled. Her assuring words are only hopes on my case.

Did your IO said stuffs like mine?

He made me sign some documents, but he didnt say anything at all.

  12. Ditto!! I had my interview back in January and was handed N-14, due to which i respond was mid- February and I submitted the response one week before the due date. Ever since no updates. Its has been over a month i submitted my RFE response and almost 2 months that i had my interview. No response nothing. It seems like my case is going in black hole. :crying:

Has your status changed to "RFE received"? because mine has not even changed even after one month of RFE response. Mine status still says " on this date, we have sent you a request of evidence"

Mine still says: Your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION is now scheduled for interview. Nothing changed , my bad luck, i had a mean, unprofessional officer, the way he acted was weird and was rushing, he even didnt give me time to read what was in that N-14 and to ask about anything. He even kept asking what's in my wallet and if i have more IDs, like my drivers license, Green card and passport weren't enough for him. He was staring in my wallet when i opend it and kept asking what was this, what was that, he saw my bank card and wanted to check it.

  13. Hi, at the end of my naturalization interview the officer asked me to send additional information by March 21. On March 6 i sent the documents and they were delivered on March 7. since then i've not heard anything from them. Do they usually send a notice saying they received what you sent? i didnt get anything and the status online didnt change.

  14. I'm so sorry to read that. Unfortunately, Morocco is well known for it's fraudsters. I wish you well.

    [/quote

There are fraudsters even in here. Everywhere there's the bad and also there's the good. I still live and married to my USC wife, i got my 10yrs green card more than one year ago and i've never planned or thought to use her to come here or anything else. I work hard and i support her and her two kids, my family back home doesnt need or get a dime from me, as a matter of fact, they helped me even when i came here (they are not rich). There is an age difference between my wife and I, she doesnt work... we disagree, we fight and so on , and am still here with her and not thinking about going anywhere or leave her.

  15. dolphin1, sorry to hear that you had such a scrutinizing IO. Hopefully, once you'll provide those requested docs you will be approved and be done with USCIS for good.

Thank you, i'll have to print more than 1 year of bank statments and paystubs. It's ok i was patient this whole time and i'll be till the end.

Sorry you got grupy IO.hope that after you send in everything they still wana see or need you will be all done.keep us posted.

Thank you, good luck for you next week, i hope you'll have a better luck than mine. :)

  16. Congrats, lucky you. I waitted for about an hour, an officer called me. He tasked me to write a sentence and then sign in couple places, i did. He didnt make me swear, i was surprised. Then asked me the 6 questions, i answered them all correct. He also asked me what i do, where i live and for how long, if i have kids, what's my religion and if i practice it . He asked to see my ID again and then asked if i have a wallet, i said yes, he asked to see if i have other IDs in it, i had just one and 2 bank cards and selective service card. He asked if i have anything else in my wallet . He stood up and was talking fast and gave me a paper asking me to send more documents such as bank statments, pay stubs and 2011 tax return. I dont know what was up with him, he was acting weird towards me, and made me wonder if he's anti- my relegion as his look changed when i answered what it was, i dont know maybe i just imagine that. Also at first he asked me why i wanted to be a citizen this fast, ( i was eligible to apply in july 2011), i told him the rules say i can apply after 3 years of residency, so i did. I was going to tell him, i want to be done with USCIS but looking at how he was acting like, i thought to just shut up. At the end (i didnt think he was going to end the interview that fast) he stood and gave me the RFE paper, was talking fast and i couldnt understand something he was saying due to his accent, he was rushing and i was . The paper he gave me says : Please submit documentary evidence establishing that you resided in the United States from september 2010 ( the date i got my 10 yrs card). I had an officer for my adjustment of status, who was like that, gave me an RFE because i ''needed'' a chicken pox shot (although i had it before). I though this step is easier and they would approve fast, esepcialy after they approved the hard stuff such as AOS and ROC. It's just not good to be under the mercy of someone or his/her mood.
