    what did they ask for? that might help determine what's going on, but it's also ok if you prefer not to say.

    Which consulate/embassy?  What was the missing evidence or document?
     
    If you check the CEAC site with your case number, Administrative Processing is a good sign they are reviewing and/or in the process of printing the visa.  "Rejected" is ok, because of the form your husband was given.  It will go Rejected -> AP -> Ready -> Issued.  Sometimes "Ready" is skipped and goes directly to "Issued"

    If they kept his passport, you watch the CEAC status to change to "Issued".  If they did not keep his passport, you wait for instruction from the consulate.

    Hard to say.  Depends on individual consulate procedures.
