  • Our Story
We met when I was a J1 summer of 2018. Spent wonderful 3 months together and then I had to leave, it was hard supporting the relationship long distance so we stopped talking for couple months after I left but eventually began again and decided we meant to be together and filled for K1 visa early April 2019. Chris visited me in Russia in May and August we were approved (yay!). I went to my interview in Moscow mid October 2019 and got in US November 6. We got married December 2 of 2019 and then filled for AOS then Covid hit and we only got my green card interview in November 2020, got approved and few days after I received my first conditional green card by mail.

  1. Hi all! Today I had my Citizenship interview and was lucky to get the same day Oath in Boston. Here’s my timeline: - 08/15/23 - Filed online. Case was received and a receipt notice was sent + biometrics reused + your case is being actively reviewed - 11/21/23 submitted I-751 notice and request for a combo interview in evidence section - 1/22/24 your case is taking longer than expected - 8/6/24 interview scheduled for 9/18/24 -8/7/27 interview canceled (likely when they realized I had my I-751 still pending) -8/22/24 your case is being actively reviewed (around the same time my 10-year GC was approved with no interview) - 8/31/24 interview scheduled for 10/8 (no update in case status, just interview notice uploaded in the doc section) - 10/8/24 passed the interview. Same day Oath 4 updates on 10/8/24 after the interview: Your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, was placed in line for oath ceremony scheduling. We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review. We scheduled you for an oath ceremony for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Certificate Of Naturalization Was Issued My interview was at 9:30am and it started a little earlier. The interview was very quick and the officer didn’t ask for any documents other than passport, N-400 interview notice, and Green Card. I had a big folder with documents but none of that was asked. Officer was very nice and we had pleasant conversation and small talk - I was nervous going in but relaxed as the conversation went along. Passed the first 6 civics questions: - What is one power that belongs to the states? - What is the rule of law? - Who did the US fight in WW2? - Who vetoes bills? - How many years do we choose the President for? - In what month do we vote for President? Reading: Where is the White House? Writing: The White House is in Washington, D. C. He told me there’s the same day Oath available at 10:15 which I agreed to take. Walked out a US Citizen. Registered to vote in person at City Hall the same day - they did not ask to see my Naturalization Certificate. Wish luck to anyone else who might be still waiting!
  2. Hi all! Wanted to provide my updates as my immigration journey is coming to an end. 10-year Green Card received in mail almost 2 years after filing. Citizenship interview scheduled and passed shortly after that and I was lucky to get the same day Oath. Here’s the timeline for I-751: Mailed 9/23/22 Received by USCIS 9/26/22 NOA 9/28/22 Fingerprints reused 10/12/22 8/22/24 we ordered your new card 8/23/24 we approved your form I-751 8/27/24 card was mailed to me 8/30/24 card in hand If anyone else is still waiting - hang tight! I’m hoping for a smooth journey for everyone in this thread.
  3. Hi! September 2022 filler. In the same boat, fingerprints were applied and crickets since. I’m based in Boston, Vermont service center. I’ve applied for the citizenship too last August with no updates other than noa and biometric reuse. You’re not alone!
