    Hi Everyone,

    I’m new here.
I have 2 year greencard form CR1 (Thailand)

I sent my I-751 Package on September 15,2020

    Got extension letter September 21,2020

now status still show up as Case was received.
I saw to many people sent their case  in the same month with got waive fingerprints.
I’m not sure why my case can not reused fingerprints.
and also I ask 8 People form my country the came come CR1 visa in the same years all of Them have their I-751 application at MSC (That’s mean they have to be interview. )

I wonder why they My I-751 application have to sent to Protomac.

I have tourists visa before . Come here before I got greencard couple time. But never have fingerprints appointment inside United State at USCIS Office. Just only have fingerprints with Immigration when I came by tourist visa and CR1 visa

Yeah mine has been at MSC for 179 days with no biometric appointment yet. I’ve seen others from may and June 2020 fillers only got their Biometric Appointments in Dec 2020 and Jan 2021, so hopefully within the next few months we should get an appointment. If you haven’t done Biometrics in the US, I read somewhere that they can’t reuse your finger prints because there are none to reuse in their system, as the international system is different and they are only checking your background outside the us but now your in the us they need to take them here to have in their systems here, so unfortunately for most CR1 cases they won’t be reused fingerprints. Don’t worry to much, yours probably just went to Potomac as they had to many at MSC at the time so they send them to other centers to lighten the load a bit. Unfortunately MSC and Potomac are slower centers so we’ll just have to wait.

    Hi everyone,

good to see some folks getting approved w/o interviews! I have a question.

Do I need to apply for an EAD or just showing that notice letter with the extension and my expired GC would suffice in case I get a new job (currently employed, but looking for new job)?
It feels so awkward that a piece of paper defines our work and travel situation.

You shouldn’t have a problem getting a new job with the extension letter and expired GC, but when having the I9 form you can use your state Drivers License as one of your proof of ID, since it most likely expires when your extension letter expires. That’s what I’ve used recently to get a job and had no problem with that. I never had to show my green card, it’s your choice what you use to show for the I9 so you shouldn’t have a problem.

Hello everyone! I know it’s a weird question lol but I got my green card extension letter few days ago and it has QR code on top left corner of my letter (on both pages had QR code). Never seen QR code on any receipt notice . I have seen barcodes on bottom but never seen QR code on top left.

Do you guys have QR code on top left corner of both pages as well?

    Thank you.

Yeah I’ve got a small one in the top left corner of my extension letter, it must be new because I haven’t seen it before

MSC is sure taking its time for biometrics letter, I’m at 31 days now

Yeah I’ve been waiting 45 days with no movement and it’ll probably be a few months before any of us at MSC get biometric appointment. There’s people way ahead of me still waiting so there’s probably a 3 month back log they have to get through before sending any of the recent months petitions a biometric appointment letter. We’ve got a bit of a wait just gotta be patient with it unfortunately.

    Thanks keep us posted pls!

Yes I have read some of the posts in the Naturalization forum ahahha. But I just hope we can receive more updates soon enough🤞

So it seem like you have to just keep an eye out on this webpage https://www.dhs.gov/office-citizenship-and-immigration-services-ombudsmans-webinar-series under the ‘Upcoming webinars’ and there will be a link at the bottom of the page that they posted about the webinar, you click the link and it’ll take you to an email draft where you rsvp your info and then I think they will email you back the link to the webinar with information about it.

I hope that our GC can arrive before the time to apply for N-400, I have heard of stories that pending both applications can make things complicated. (Especially your local office don't have your i-751), you might end up waiting longer.

Also they say, once you file for N-400, they move your pending I-751 to MSC as well.

Yes hopefully it can, I’ve also hear some bad stories and some good stories where it has speed up the process so I guess it just depends.

I'm already going to be waiting a while for mine anyway since mines already at MSC so it’s gonna be a long process 😬

Yeah true so it might end up in MSC anyway we’ll have to see what happens.

I’ll have to look it up and let you know where they have the webinars, I’m not sure yet where they have any links but if I find it I’ll let you know.

I hope the powerful Youtube would have it, I don't even know USCIS holds such webinar sometimes 😅

Lol hopefully, but neither did I. I just happened to find this article in one of the other forums on here and thought others would like to know. Now I know about the webinars I’m gonna keep my eye out for them. That be interesting to see how they answer all these questions.

Oh this is very interesting. But it doesn't seem they have a recording of the webinar, or a transcript. I am curious about how they responded to some of the questions mentioned at the end of the article

I know right I’ve looked for it and can’t seem to find it anywhere yet. Hopefully someone uploads it online so we can know how they answered the questions.

  9. Just found this on the DHS website with some interesting information. If anyone was to know about processing times and such, it also says that cases with MSC will have an interview and others like EAC, VSC, and LIN might be waivered for the interview ( don’t take my word for it if it’s not, but it just states it in this article that it might be waivered) anyone with those centers are the lucky ones https://www.dhs.gov/publication/uscis-processing-concurrently-pending-forms-n-400-and-forms-i-751

hello everyone, do u know guys if how many weeks before i can receive my Biometrics letter? i got NoA1 hard copy oct 7,2020

It kinda depends where it was sent to cause if it was at EAC it’s seems to be going very quick for everyone there and they had their Biometrics waivered. Everyone else is still waiting, I sent mine in early September and haven’t gotten anything about biometrics yet. Just check out the google sheet we have, that’ll give you an idea how long you’re gonna have to wait :)

I was looking for job in 2018-2019 they had asked for job references .... may HR resources were not helping out.... but the place I work now did understand my background and sent emails to 3 job references I gave from place I worked in India.... So the HR of the company where I work also gave me a feedback that it was quicker then  responses we get from same country.... So it’s all on understanding and yes most important  companies policies.... wish you good luck

Thank you so much, I’m gonna reach out to my old bosses today see if they would give me a reference letter and see if they would reply if they reached out to them. Yeah there’s a job I really hoping to get just praying my background comes back okay, might just contact HR today see what they say 😊 thanks again

It took me 6 months of looking and applying for jobs to land one! They requested background checks from Australia after a few rounds of interviews, so they will get that if they need it.

LinkedIn is pretty popular here so it's easy to find recruiters for companies you want to work for. Reaching out to them directly on LinkedIn is a good move. Network network network! :)

I suggest finding an ATS (applicant tracking system) checker website to upload your resume to. Recruiters don't seem to look at applicants if their ATS didn't pull any info.

Okay awesome, thank you so much. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I’ll have to check out an ATS for sure.
I’ve got my background checks from Australia too but they never even ask for them, they only want me to fill in the ones on their websites, so maybe I should just send it in anyway. Thanks again I really appreciate it

  13. I have a question for anyone who came here on a CR1 visa, if you know the answer that would be great. But I want to know if anyone else has had a problem getting a job because of a background check for employment comes up with zero results? I’ve applied for a few that I couldn’t complete as it needs job references from within USA and attended a high school within USA and won’t allow me to choose states from other countries as an option. Just want to know if I’m the only one experiencing this? I know this is a i-751 forum but I’m not sure where else to ask. TIA

Thanks so much! I’m in TN so I’ll take a look online before heading in. Appreciate the info 🙌😄

You're welcome, hopefully you can get it soon 😊 also you don't need to worry about getting a stamp in your passport only if the Green Card and extension letters have both expired and you're still waiting for approval. They only give them if it's an emergency so you should be good there too👍🏻

Got the NOA in the mail today (sent 9/26, rec’d 9/29). Now to go and hopefully get my licence extended tomorrow with the NOA as proof of extension. Don’t really want to have to go and get the stamp in my passport if I can help it. The closest office is 2hr drive away! Fingers crossed the DMV accept it 🤞🤞🤞

Congrats on getting your NOA, you should be fine to renew you drivers license with your green card and NOA letter. But in some states they're still only doing appointment only due to covid so just double check your state DMV online, if they're still doing appointments. I checked mine (NC) and I could only get an appointment in November. So it's best to check then go there and get turned away.

Hi, i have a question please help. ROC extension letter came on 8/11/2020 since then nothing happening still waiting for Biometrics. I came here as LPR spouse of a US Citizen . I have  submitted my ROC application on 7/23/20  ,  do still they can use my old finger prints on my file? and i have to travel in couple of months also, i am worried to travel on Extension letter , do i need I-551 Stamp to travel and come back?. my service center is MSC. All help will be appreciated...take care bye.

From what I’ve seen on the Facebook group people have said because of COVID-19 most service centers have a backlog of 3 months for biometrics appointment. So hopefully you get your biometrics letter soon. It seems if you did your fingerprints outside the US you’ll most likely have to get them done again here in the US. I’m also at MSC and I only filed mine sep 11 so I have a long time to wait it seems.  You’ll be fine traveling with your extension letter and expired or soon to be expired green card a lot of people have done it and didn’t have a problem. You can only get the I-551 stamp if both of the GC and extension letter expired and you still waiting for approval.

  17. So I saw an article that the Judge White put a hold on USCIS New filing fees for Oct 2, so I’m not sure if the fees will be going up now or maybe in the near future. I’ve attached an article below, in case anyone wants to give it a read. It doesn’t say anything (that I could find anyway) on the USCIS website saying the new fees are on hold, but this only happened yesterday so they might still need to update the website.

I thought everyone who still needs to file would like to know

Hi guys I sent my package today just read about the fees that it will increase after 10/02. And as per the tracking my package will deliver on 10/01 near 8:00 pm. Do they sent the package back as I send Form G-1450 with 680 ? Thanks.

You should be fine as long as they receive it before Oct 2nd. They’ll accept it, it’s only from Oct 2nd and after the fees go up.
