That's awesome, congrats!
Those timeline estimates are irritating to say the least. You filed in June 2019 (?) - est. completion Oct 2020. I filed in Jan 20 - est completion Sept 2020. How? lol
Lucky you! Don't complain!
Would have finished in March 2020. USCIS closed the day before my interview!
At some other USCIS location, people who filed in June 2019 finished by Dec 2019 so its just Newark which has a lot of immigrant population which makes it very delayed!

Update: My estimated case completion time changed from October to September today, and the countdown from 15 days to "We're taking longer"... haha...
Hahah
I finished my interview and waiting on oath ceremony but the completion date showed at Oct 2020! But received in mail that oath is scheduled for Aug 28!!!

Congrats to your husband! And fingers crossed that you'll receive your date soon. So strange that they can't just invite one for the next day...
How was it at the field office - are they interviewing many people? Was it clear if everyone was there for citizenship interviews, or do they process all types of cases currently?
When i went, they were only taking 4 people at a time for naturalization interview. And for oath looks like 9-15 people max at every ceremony. My husband said his oath was a total of 9 people.
Most people looked like they were waiting on oath and were for naturalization interview.
My estimated time shows as Oct 2020. And this is just oath!!!

Just wanted to post an update. My husband who went yesterday (12:30pm) interview was able to finish oath on the same day as well.
Questions asked
1. Who can veto the bill?
2. Who signs the bill?
3. Name 2 national holidays?
4. A senator serves for how many years?
5. Which state was bought from France?
6. How many voting members for House of Representatives
Read: Who was the President during the Civil war?
Write: Lincoln was the President during the Civil War
I am still waiting on a oath date!

Oh okay i get it. Basically all the countries we have visited in last 5 years. In that case, i have everything i need. Thank you so much.
Like the Newyorker 82 commented on his response, they want to verify your travel dates matches with your passport. So yes do carry all your home-country passports.
I don’t think he actually checked any old passports other than the most recent one coz I am on passport number 5. (A big bundle)Since I travel a lot, he asked me how often my trips were and which were leisure and which were for business.

Yay so happy for you and your husband. Mine is in August... let’s hope we can do same day ceremony since they do it there everyday at 3.. staying an extra night in mt laurel in case They dont do it sameday maybe ceremony next day...
If your appointment is in the morning, then you can get the same day oath. Hope that’s the case for you. Good Luck.
and if you don’t get the oath ceremony the same day, they will send letter by mail in the new date. With the news of USCIS furloughing people starting August, I am a bit skeptical on how long I have to wait for oath!! -

Guys, thought of giving an update
My interview went well, but since it was for 2:45pm, they couldn't do my oath on the same day. They are only allowing aboout 15-20 people per oath ceremony due to pandemic. So if you interview is in the morning, chances are you will very likely finish the oath at the Newark location
Questions were very straight forward
1. One american tribe
2. Party of current President
3. 3 Original colonies out of 13
4. One state that borders Mexico
5. One writer of Fed Federation
6. Why do we have 50 stars on the US Map
To read: Who was George Washington
To Write: We vote for the President in November
A friendly officer; we just chit chatted for a little bit as he was asking me some basic verification like my address, where my husband woks, where i work, my nature of work, whether kids are American citizens, about my parents (coz they are citizens)
Also asked me if i have ever voted before, if i claimed to be US citizen, Have I been to immigration court?
Then he congratulated me and said I should hear back in 3-4 weeks with new oath date.
In and out in 30 mins. I reached at 2:15pm and 2:40 was called for interview and I was out at 3pm. He asked me for GC, Drivers License (Address proof) and all passport (expired and new). No other documents asked.
So guys good luck and all the very best!! Now I wait for Otah Ceremony!!

Yes I had all the taxes papers with me also the tax return for 2019. I think it’s better to take all the documents. Officer just asked me about if I have any outstanding dues for IRS or NJ state.
The officer also asked me about the 2 years Conditional green card I told her it was taken away by the USCIS office when they stamped the passport for one year.
Most important don’t forget to take the current green card it’s a must for oath ceremony.
Perfect. Thank you so much

I had taken my tax papers with me for the interview, but was never asked for that or any other document that I took along. I always recommend being over prepared, so do bring as many documents as you are able to.
You can have your name change done the very same day (one of the good things about the Newark office), so if you interview is at 2.30 PM, it is very likely you may be able to do the ceremony too the same day. All the best!
I will take atleast a copy which indicates i filed my paperwork for tax. Thank you and hoping i get naturalized the same day! Fingers crossed!

I am one of those who did my interview on Feb 26 at Newark, but couldn't do the same day oath as they couldn't print my certificate. So, I was asked to wait for a rescheduled date, then COVID struck and I ended up in a limbo. Finally, I had my oath ceremony done yesterday and I can confirm that the Newark office is back to doing naturalization interviews and possibly, same day oaths (not able to confirm the latter). There were quite a few interviewees yesterday (though by no means as crowded as in the pre-COVID days). So, while the numbers may be lower, there definitely is stuff happening.
Congratulations!!!
Did you have to take any tax paper work? I am just thinking what all documents are needed. Was planning to take my passport, GC and marriage certificate (due to change of last name)
Since i have a name change and my appointment is only at 2:30pm I might not be able to do the same day oath ceremony.

I had a interview today at Newark office
Finally i am a US citizen. (Newark NJ)
My interview was reschedule for July 8 2020
Original Interview date was March 18 2020 (Cancelled because of covid 19)
My appointment was at 8:30 am i waited for about 30 TO 40 minutes to be seen by the officer.
She was very nice women, she asked me about how covid 19 is affecting my life.
She asked about the details on the form. She asked about is it my first marriage or not also about my wife's 1st or second marriage.
She asked me you had 10 trips in the last four years. She asked me did i had any trips after filing the N400.I said yes two trips. She required all the dates and the countries visited on the trip.Luckily i had the paper with all information.
She asked question about law related issues or crime in the countries i have visited. I had visited many mostly Europe but also Middle eastern countries, officer also asked i visited different countries mostly for business or vacation i told her vacation.

She told me you passed the civic and English section but i need to check something. She took my passports and told me that i need to wait outside as she has to copy my passport. I waited outside thinking she might give me a letter for decision cannot be made or something. After wait of 25 minutes she came outside giving me the letter for approval. I think she probably consulted with the supervisor.
I waited in the Hallway for the Oath ceremony it was at 11:30 so i became of US citizen at 11:45.am
Newark officers were all very polite and humble. There were 23 people in total who took the oath.
Congratulations.

Good Luck! My husband was also March 19 and he got his interview date as 7/28 so you should be getting it soon.

Now the wait for a new date for the interview starts!

Both my husband and I had my naturalization interview on the 19th! Bummed that it has to be rescheduled! Who knows when that would happen next!!!

if you hear anything on your rescheduling, do post on this thread. I feel we won't hear anything till a few months, but lets keep each other updated.

I am assuming your case was affected by recent update by USCIS as well which when effective today.
Mine was for tomorrow so it's definitely not there anymore. Do we need to wait for USCIS to send a new date? or do you think we need to reschedule on our own?

Here is what I see:
USCIS Offices Temporarily Closed to the Public
As of March 18, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has suspended routine in-person services until at least April 1 to help slow the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). USCIS staff will continue to perform duties that do not involve contact with the public. However, USCIS will provide emergency services for limited situations. To schedule an emergency appointment contact the USCIS Contact Center.
USCIS domestic field offices will send notices to applicants and petitioners with scheduled appointments and naturalization ceremonies impacted by this closure. USCIS asylum offices will send interview cancellation notices and automatically reschedule asylum interviews. When the interview is rescheduled, asylum applicants will receive a new interview notice with the new time, date and location for the interview. When USCIS again resumes normal operations, USCIS will automatically reschedule Application Support Center appointments due to the office closure. You will receive a new appointment letter in the mail. Individuals who had InfoPass or other appointments at the field office must reschedule through the USCIS Contact Center, once field offices reopen to the public. Please check the USCIS Field Offices page to see if your field office has reopened before reaching out to the USCIS Contact Center.
Education and precautions are the strongest tools against infection. Get the latest facts by visiting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 website. Continue to practice good health habits, refrain from handshakes or hugs as greetings, and wash hands and clean surfaces appropriately.
USCIS will provide further updates as the situation develops and will continue to follow CDC guidance. Please visit uscis.gov/coronavirus for more information.

I have been checking every morning and like N400NYC said there have only been 2 closures across the country, but with the situation not improving, my fears of cancellation are growing but I also know that it is important to be safe at this time - for us and for everyone around us.
My other problem is daycare is closed and my kids are home and both me and husband have interviews the same day but at a different time. Not entirely sure how this will play out of the interview happens coz I have a name change as well. Too many unknowns, will wait and see! Will keep this group posted!

We will find out during the week if they are cancelled. What's good thing is USCIS seems to calling candidate and letting you know if cancelled. That'll say us a trip to a public place during virus. Let's see what the week brings.
yeah! hopefully it wont get cancelled but i have a feeling it will! Keep this group posted if you hear anything
N400 Online application and interview
in US Citizenship Case Filing and Progress Reports
Posted
I dont think so. I applied for N400 online; though I did submit my kids birth certificate, they didn't ask for documents during the interview. I was just asked for my passports (current and old), Green card and ID proof. I was applying based on work based GC. They just asked me how many kids I have and if they are US citizens (assuming to verify the information that I added in the form)
