There is no danger from thimerosal in flu vaccines. It's excreted from the body very quickly. It's not the same form of mercury present in large fish, etc that bioaccumulates and is neurotoxic.
Andrew Wakefield and everyone at Natural News can shovel excrement in hell.
Along with anyone else perpetuating this garbage. Flu shot irresponsibility kills babies and old people. And a lot of people in between. Get your shots and shut up.

I'd say society is pretty messed up if you need a gun to protect yourself. Funny that we seem to be the only allegedly "advanced" country where this is normal. But as you say, since the criminals have guns, there's a valid argument that citizens need one to protect themselves. That said, I've never owned a gun, and I'm still walking around. I must be really lucky.

The issue here is that the criminals had guns in the first place. If they didn't, there would be no need for the clerk to be armed. The question is why are there so many people in this country with firearms that shouldn't have them? I suspect the answer has something to do with there being 330 millions firearms in this country. Legal and illegal. When there are that many, it is impossible to prevent criminals from having firearms.

In what numerical system does 29 come before 1? Why is verse 29 the starting point? Where are the preceding verses that specifically refer to such fighting to only commence after treason was committed and treaties illegally broken?
Or the verses directing believers to protect and shield immediately those who desist attacking them?

No, one is not. Taqiyya actually refers to a controversial minority doctrine or dispensation that allows for an individual to conceal their faith when under threat, persecution or compulsion. Even those who believe that taqiyyah is possible under such circumstances place severe limits on the possibility and see it as an option that represents the lesser of two evils. The possibility of using taqiyya even in a situation where your life is endangered is not accepted by all scholars or schools of law.

you're quoting/linking to a site that's been blocked by vj moderation in the past because of its hate speech slant, fyi. It's curious that the verses contained in this particular passage specifying the very precise and provisional self defense clauses to these verses are excluded, and instead random ones have been cherry picked sans context. I'm sure that was accidental.

She isn't so much upset about feminism as about some key political figures in the American feminist movement. Fair enough, there probably are some pretty fanatical women out there who have some bizarre ideas about women's role in society but does that negate the real issues that still exist? Seems it doesn't and it shouldn't so what she is talking about is sort of a bit on the extremist side and most women don't really identify with that in any way.

I've been on here since 2007. I'm not a noob, and I probably have a better idea of the challenges those going through MENA consulates do than many. I don't condone getting married on the first visit, and cross-cultural relationships are even harder when you are both fluent in each other's language. Establishing a relationship with someone -- sharing a friendship, learning each other's likes and dislikes, sussing out each other's worldview -- takes time. In my opinion, rushing into marriage headlong is a bad idea. Few can tell from meeting once.
Just because I had (I am now divorced, thanks) a UK husband doesn't mean I am fully ignorant of the various hurdles faced in other consulates. Check your condescension.

The most popular baby name in the UK is OLIVER. Mohammed is like not even top 20.
One of the longest, most heart breaking separations I've seen on VJ came from the UK. Also have seen a whole huge variation in how Muslim couples proceed with their relationships (self included!)on this website. No hard and fast rules there re. approval or relationship longevity anyways.

You seriously don't know that people can and do become knowledgeable about all kinds of things they're not? World's foremost expert on penguins...is not a penguin. But still knows a lot about penguin.

What is B.S. is you, cheerleading the quote-mining of the ridiculous self-contradictory ####### in any religion and thinking you can manipulate me into fear with it. Maher is an expert at false framing. False dichotomies. This is a perfect example.
I do not have to give respect where it doesn't belong - to logical fallacies. The correct framing is that the religion doesn't matter. What matters is keeping religion out of government. Look at all that LSD-trip type gibberish in Revelations that so fawns over Armageddon. Bring on Armageddon so that Jesus can come back.. It is something like 30% of our country that actually believes that.
That is way, way more dangerous TO ME. and to AMERICANS - than what Maher is concerned about, namely promoting the Greater Israel and getting Americans to hate the enemies of Israel. I will not be duped by the likes of this bigoted entertainer.

Must be the shiploads of fertilizer dumped into the thread every few posts. Told that boy to go into farming a long time ago. His crop yield would be off the charts.

Of course you believe that. You blow off the Muslims who call for help under the Israeli occupation. You blow off the Christians who call for help under Israeli occupation. You blow off the clerics and ministers who comment that it is becoming a routine experience to be spit on in Israeli streets. You blow off the fact that there are cities and communities in Israel that do not allow or tolerate practice of any other religion. You blow off a legal system that operates two different sets of standards and laws for Israeli citizens - one set for jewish citizens and one set for non-Jewish citizens. You blow off your own soldiers who speak up and describe illegal actions that they are ordered to do in the occupied territories. You blow off limiting food supplies to a whole people based on a "calorie per person" calculation. You blow off seizure of land and property that has been deemed Illegal by the UN. You blow off the historical use of terrorism to create the Israeli state.
You can blow it off, minimize it, and excuse it but you have been unable to deny it.
So naturally - you are not expected to know that people who lived through and survived the Holocaust actually ARE more knowledgeable about practices, legal systems, and treatment of others that led up to the holocaust. I however believe that they are.
I believe that turning in a medal for helping Jews survive the holocaust and issuing a statement condemning Israeli policies in Gaza by survivors of the holocaust speak volumes about what the nation of Israel is and what values that nation represents and they are not ours.
I look at all of these different groups. They are all independent. None of them have anything to do with one another. They all say the same thing. The stories are consistent. That makes you and the sources of your propaganda what?

Gibberish. I'm the easter bunny except I am also the queen of England and a tomato at the same time.
Words actually have meanings to most of us. Not understanding the definitions of words - making up whatever definitions you like - this is not "pragmatic" nor Libertarian nor even remotely becoming if you are trying to convince others of something.
You've made it clear that you consider Israel our best ally. You don't follow through with your conclusion, which is that war crimes are permissible. Just own up to it and have the courage of your convictions instead of posting utterly self-contradictory rubbish like this.
An ally has a defense compact. We have none with Israel. Don't tell me that this is some sign of being a superior ally where you don't actually state what the allegiance is. It's bothersome that whatever relations we have with them are secret black-bag agencies instead of straightforward treaties or conglomerate defense compacts like NATO where the meetings are public and terms of alliance spelled out. And in those relations the Israelis are clearly not cooperating with us as we get out of our formal alliances.
Sadly, what I believe you mean by this is that Israel is like our favorite football team in the Middle East. So, you know - we want them to win every game. Rah, rah - let's see the piles of dead bodies their team can score. Bury them in head decapitations by missile, tank rounds through the abdomen, and burnt alive Palestinian crispies. Yay! That's what has been going on, anyway and it is horrifying to watch if you think Palestinians qualify as humans.

FYI, the sponsorship requirement is 125% of the federal poverty guidelines, and while I believe there is some discretion between 100-125% for K-1 cases, for CR-1's I've never seen personal discretion permitting an income lower than 125%. I have heard of a few instances where the CO required a higher percentage, though.
I suggest if anyone reading this has a personal recommendation for a lawyer, that they respond or PM you with a referral so you may find one that way. Joining groups on Facebook and asking there is another option. If you decide to hire a lawyer, I would make sure that he or she has experience fighting visa denials from MENA countries. It's a very niche area of experience. I know some couples here on VJ have recommended Mark Ellis, though I haven't worked with him personally. The vast majority of lawyers and even immigration lawyers won't know what they're getting into...
